  • I am also a nurse in an ambulatory clinic and it's amazing how many steps you can get on a busy day! I also get about 8-10 flights of stairs on a good day. I like keeping up with the calories, too.
  • I'm in! This is my first time doing the challenge in a few years and I'm looking forward to the encouragement and motivation from others!
  • I would love to be in a group, too. I have been trying to lose weight for over a year and have struggled the last few months. I did really well for 7 months and then stalled. I know what my triggers are (emotional eater) and how to exercise for myself. I need to overcome the mental sabotage. I tell myself that I will run…
  • If there is still room, let me know!!
  • I think I may break down and see a chiropractor. I am still having problems with the ITB and now I have a lot of pain at night on my sides. My hips hurt and it has to be muscle or ligament pain. Both sides hurt now and the only position that is comfortable is my back or stomach with no pressure on my knees (pushes hips).…
  • I am turning 42 soon so I understand the ticking clock analogy. I tend to be a grazer where I graze in the kitchen after my kids go to bed. I have much younger children that exhaust me on a daily basis. I was never much of a veggie lover but have learned to eat stuff that I wouldn't have chosen a year ago. I still prefer…
  • What an inspiration!! Congratulations on all your hard work!!
  • I am starting to tell more people. I am halfway to my goal and some notice and some think I have done something different with my hair. I can't get frustrated (much) because I have lost some weight before and just put it back on. I haven't weighed this amount since before I had my first child 10 years ago so I think some…
  • If it's not too late, I would like to join. I had to google it (shameful, but the truth!) first before I committed myself. I need motivation for daily exercise since I don't tolerate the cold so well.
  • I am almost at the halfway point for my 100+ journey. I have tried this a few times before but I never put really got involved with the MFP community. It has been very helpful this time. I have been keeping this lifestyle change for 7 months and still feel motivated. It's the daily comments or someone noticing the days…
  • Nov 2: 2.3 miles Nov 4: 2.5 miles Trying to keep up with 3 times a week!!
  • I'm new to this challenge. I would like to set a goal of 30 miles.
  • I have been doing MFP for about 6 months and can always use a motivational buddy! I have at least a year to go before I can think of maintenance so I need to stay focused. It's been a tough week for me; I missed a day of running and I started strength training and just about died!! Feel free to add me.
  • My family doctor gave me the option of the expensive 50 000 IU pill weekly or try supplementing myself. I need calcium and B12 so I just take it daily with those vitamins. Nexium twice daily for severe GERD contributes to these deficiencies. I don't want to rely on looking at vitamin content in all the food I eat to ensure…
  • I am not even sure when I started but I know I would get down to where I was getting compliments and then I stopped caring. I would "treat" myself one day a week, then 2 days a week and soon I had all my old bad habits back. I stopped tracking my food and did't really care what the scale said. I had a scare from a…
  • I love my face. I am over 40 but still look 30. I know I'm going to get wrinkles when I lose weight but it's for the good.
  • I'm 40, married with 2 kids, work full time and have a significant amount to lose . I think it's hard when old friends run into me and they don't know what to say; I yo-yo with my weight so I'm sure it's a stumbling block!! I love having support and can be a great support, too. I started back in January so am starting a…
  • I have been guilty in the past about too much sodium in my diet so it's hard for me to tell someone to cut it out. I try really hard to never eat out. I have access to a few cafes where I work and I still bring in food from home. I am a Starbucks addict but I started making my fraps at home and I actually like my own…
  • I usually use half a cuke, celery , carrots and just a cup of baby spinach. I need the iron in the salads. I am not a fan of big leafy lettuce, especially when I am eating at work around other people. I also eat bean salad (kidney, garbanzo and yellow wax beans) with some ff Italian dressing. Better than a bowl of lettuce.
  • I have to have protein. I tried granola and milk and I was starving within a few hours. I use egg substitue and not just egg whites. I'm new (read: weigh more) at this and can still use the calories from the whole egg. Cheese sticks or greek yogurt are also great snacks midmorning.
  • I just turned 40 and decided I have to try again. It's funny that I don't picture myself as a "big" person but it can't be denied. I have about 100 lbs to lose and need to finally stick to it. I am successful when I diet and then the weight creeps back. I will be starting a new job soon and my husband just started to watch…
  • I just started yesterday and have about the same amount to lose. Nice to see you! Good luck and have fun with the program.
