  • I suppose youd have to ask yourself, do you feel like you are eating more or less than when you first started? If less then im sure the weight will come off eventually, if you cant notice much of a difference in your eating habits then you may be better lowering your calorie intake slightly. Hope this helps! Im also 5 ft 4…
  • I think the problem is that MFP sets 1200 as a goal for most people not taking into account weight, height, calories consumed normally etc. I eat 1200 but thats because I need approx 1400 to maintain, im 5 ft 4 lbs and quite petite, however someone who is 20 stone plus eating a 3,000 calorie a day diet is going to suffer…
  • I agree that someone heavier in weight could loose by lowering calorie intake to more than this but that is only because they have been eating alot more calories prior to dieting. I maintain on around 1400 anything over that means i put on weight.
  • Apologise for being blunt but if it is not enough calories MFP would not autimatically set this! I can guarentee you that if I ate anymore than 1200 I would not loose weight. My stats: Weight 10 St 4 Lbs Height: 5 ft 4 inch Highest weight: 12 st 8 Lowest weight 10 st 4
  • Pretty much same here, went 5 months on between 1,000- 1,100 lost 20 lbs (down to 10 st 2 lbs) ate 1,600 cals for the next two months and put on 7 lbs.... Eat more to loose weight my *kitten*! Back on 1,100 now haaa!
  • Yes you can is your answer. However eating ****e foods means u will be much less likely to stick to your calorie goals as you will feel hungrier as you are not filling up on nutritious foods. Speaking from experience u will also struggle to gain energy to excersise if u are eating low cal but bad foods. I stick to 1200 but…
  • Also it takes a while to get used to lowering calories, id say most people dont get on with it the first day but your body needs time to adjust to eating less.
  • I stick to 1,200 a day but im only 5 ft 4 and eat a lot of fruit and veg! What id cut from that is 1 egg Sugars and cream in coffee= substitute splenda and skimmed milk/coffee mate if you like it creamy (sugar and cream are not needed) Lunch is fine! but if you are frying then use fry light instead of olive oil (you can…
  • Also I havnt ate a Mcdonalds in over 6 years...the less you eat of something the less you want to eat it!
  • Basically if I eat bad food then try to go for a run it hinders how far I can go, therefore as soon as you begin to exercise you will see the effect it is actually having on your body and you will learn to eat for fuel. :)
  • Amazing work! Congratulations on giving yourself better health! and good luck for the future!
  • 2 weetabix with honey and skimmed milk= 250 cal and keeps you full :)
  • Its probably because they were very overweight to start with, sometimes certain problems are incorrectable or its just too late to undo the damage caused by an unhealthy lifestyle.
  • I find it fine running on a treadmill, its makes my calf’s ache a lot less. However I also find it harder in terms of breathing due to less oxygen inside. But I can say, running on tread makes you appreciate the amount of oxygen you get outside and makes my runs a lot quicker when i go outside. But, everyone is different :)
  • No ifs about it. If my pt was overweight I would feel it was a bit hypocritical. I joined a slimming world class and the mentor was over weight by at least three St, I dont understand how it is possible for her to give advise? I know this sounds really harsh but its my opinion. Its like teaching Maths but failing your…
  • By far the most amazing weight loss ive seen on here!! CONGRATS! Amazing stomach!!
  • Im running my first half on 6th October so have just over two months to train! Completed my first 8 mile run Saturday so feeling alot more confident and following a great training plan! It crazy how when you gradually increase your runs its alot easier! Good luck everyone! If anyone is running the Cardiff half then add me…
  • Carmella Cw: 146 lbs Gw 136 lbs Lets do it!! I need motivation !!
  • People are too quick to judge these. I have had them as a egg noodle/rice noodle substitute and found them fine with stir frys/veg/chicken with a soy sauce/stir fry sauce as they have a similar texture to rice noodles. However as a substitute for pasta I can not imagine them being nice (with a tomato sauce) they feel…
  • Signed up for my first Half in October 6th :D Longest Ive run is 65 minutes approx 11k, according to my training plan I have to run 75 mins this week, with also two 45 min runs and a hill session. For some strange reason im actually looking forward to training, having a race always makes me more determined!
  • The only thing I could think of is that your body has gotten used to what you are doing and you need to change it up a bit! If you do the same sort of exercises all the time then start something new to push yourself harder. I.e. if you use the elliptical the start going for runs, if you strength train start doing some…
  • continue to maintain my weight is what i want most!! I have promised myself and boyfriend that I will have an indian takeaway when i reach 9 st 7 ibs (havnt had one in nearly 1 year!) I have also given up chocolate so a tub of ben and jerrys wouldn’t go a miss! Im also training for a half marathon so my aim is to complete…
  • I felt more in place after about 2-3 weeks, you seem to see the same faces and you become a regular :) give it abit of time!
  • PRAWWWWNS! Can eat tones for so little calories, have them with a cocktail sauce (tomatoe ketchup with low fat mayo/greek yogurt) Or mushrooms with hummus is really good I see alot of people mentioning peanut butter but if you are looing at low cal surely this isnt something to be eating for a snack (90 cals per tbs)
  • I find the days that I work out I am a lot less hungry, I think it suppresses your appetite, and takes your mind off of food :)
  • The only response I can gather from this is, what is you calorie intake? If you are eating more calories than you should be then you wont see results very quickly, even with exercise.
  • amazzzzzing difference!
  • I'd love to join please! Just the kind of motivation I need!
  • Same! 81 days down and still finding it exciting dieting and exercising! 18 pounds down and what keep me motivated is hitting certain goals I.e no longer being over weight! Next big goal is the 20lbs mark!! Woo!!
