Great job Doug all around the pics, the posts bring an incredible day all together. I didn't get to meet Deena at my HM....then again I heard she was already at the airport when I finished lol.

No tapering hear I'm going for that elusive 125 miles and probably doing short races. Happy Rocktober everyone and good luck!

I did the Rock n Roll HM in Philadelphia yesterday 2:15:36 10:20avg was looking to break under 10 didn't happened a big, huge crowd, nice event well run live music throughout the run and I started out through 10miles averaging 9:50 or so per mile and that's when I felt It, runners were on the side of the road & on…

Good luck everyone! I'm doing my 2nd HM on Sunday.

Yes Stan, I remember from my first HM being sore until midweek, I thought maybe with the training put in I can ease up that week & hit it again for the last two weeks, the question came about just because of this HM close to home they're also having a 6.66 mile race it's all revolving around Halloween

Thanks Dave, it's kind of what I thought sacrifice one or the other I guess they're too close to each other?

9/21 Half in Philly 10/12 Half in NJ(maybe)?

This is a great question I've always thought of but too lazy to look into my guess was 350-400. In my curiosity I finally did some googling and found somewhere that all running shoes can go up to 500 miles, i'll tend to believe as I think I've pushed a few that long.

None of the above a hat sometimes if it's raining or I'm having a bad hair day. It's about just running and getting it over...lol

**** so jealous, I live 37 miles away I live in the country and at best I've done this journey 46mins a few times but it's also taken me over 3hrs a couple of time due to snow, flooding and what not. For me it's at least, least 2hrs a day.

I'll go for 125 and maybe I can make that!

I live in the country & work in the city so I do little of both of late by home I've been doing my park run which is picturesque and stress free in the city...btw I carry nothing but my keys, ipod which I'm sure won't scare anyone away lol, but the city run is just hectic with traffic which Is probably the worst fear the…

You want to lose the weight implement some cardio, want to tone up light weights only which you'll probably start off with keep them light so you don't bulk up and yes cardio, cardio, cardio. If you only lift you'll add weight in muscle.

I agree a runner can jog at times like you said in w/u & c/d, for the record I don't like being called a jogger even if you're doing let say 10min pace to me that's not jogging. Though fast runners may consider that even a jog, not sure.

Oh ok why not I'll try once again for 150 summer hot miles 6/1 6.14 easy paced miles
-
I'm gonna shoot for a hot 150 in July...I think
-
So seems like the only question is to start fast or hold back on the first mile I say see how you feel at start time like Dave said it's a short run and with the fitness I've seen from you I think PR is probably a sure thing my only advice would be remember the shorter the race the longer the warm up, get a good warm up at…

You don't I have a love/hate relationship with running do it to eat & drink what I want & for accomplishments to say hey I did this & that while everyone else is getting fat & hate the work that goes into it :) in the end rather run than not.
