  • Our German Shepherd Rudy is almost 2 now, and I've been jogging with him for a few months. I'm pretty slow so he is effectively just trotting along. Even though we have always walked him, the trotting did tire him out to begin with, but he got very fit pretty quickly. We don't jog every day, but he certainly gets a walk…
  • Struggled through Week 6 Day 2, and felt slow and sore. I felt a little discombobulated with the time, because I thought I heard the voice telling me to run, so I did, then another voice told me to run. So I was confused! Oh well, Week 6 almost done. Let's go team!
  • Fabulous news, Airangel! You go, girl. It was a rest day for me today and yesterday, but I'm looking forward to getting out there tomorrow. My first planned 5k is April 12! There will be thousands of participants, so I suspect we'll be spending some time walking and shuffling. I'm going with my 2 daughters, and I've got a…
  • Just finished Week 6 Day 1, two 10 minute runs with a 5 minute walk in between. Felt great, especially because it was cooler today. Don't worry about the distance using the apps. Get the times under your belt, and then use Runkeeper or similar to work towards 5k. I'm starting to get grandiose ideas of going on to 10k after…
  • Day off for me as well. Pilates and a gym session instead.
  • Woo hoo! Completed Week 5 altogether. Only three weeks to go. Feeling confident that I can stave off any injuries at this point. Keep it up, team!
  • Off day for me as well, so Pilates for me. Keep it up folks, we're halfway there.
  • Completed Week 5 Day 2 today, and for the first time I can really see myself reaching 5k in one go without stopping. It remains to be seen if the old body holds up. Did you know that as you age, your foot pads lose fat so you are prone to sore metatarsals? Grrrr. I hate getting old.
  • I wondered what happened! I was supposed to run yesterday, but I went on a protest march through the city of Melbourne, against the policies of our Australian Prime Minister. And today I'm working 10 hours, so I won't be running :(
  • Rest day for me, yay!
  • Today I listened to The Defamation of Strickland Banks by Plan B, an English musician. Track 3, Stay Too Long, was the perfect beat for my jogging.
  • Started the dreaded Week 5 today. It wasn't too bad, except it was soooo hot (25C / 77F). I'm going to have a well-earned dinner out tonight; no bad food, probably Japanese.
  • Just walking with the dog today, and looking forward to starting Week 5 tomorrow. I can't believe I'm half way!
  • It's day one of my two days off running, so I will be hitting the gym and going to Pilates.
  • I'm dying with laughter over this thread. Anyhoo, I love all the weird healthy stuff like quinoa, beans, kale, etc. The only food (besides offal) that I cannot abide is......bananas. Blech. Yet I make my daughter eat them. Go figure. I have finally learned to like Brussels sprouts, only by cooking them to kingdom come in…
  • Today I jogged to London Calling by The Clash. I'm sure I looked like an idiot because I couldn't help but throw in some dance moves. And I may have even sung out loud at times.
  • YAY! Finished Week 4 completely, although I struggled a little today after killing it on Sunday. I'm finding my mind getting obsessed with the pace and speed, as reported in my ear by Runkeeper. I swore I wouldn't do that this time, and just get engrossed in the music. There's probably a way to turn off Runkeeper…
  • This is a non-running day for me, so I will be hitting the gym. Onwards, team!
  • Today I listened to Blur. Song 2 really gets you moving. Spotify does have some great running playlists already created.
  • Waited for the cool of the evening to polish off W4D2, with a few extra minutes. Then 12:16:14:10 squats. I'm actually looking forward to my planned 5k run in April!
  • Woot! Just romped through W4D1, with an extra 3 minutes on the end. Then 12:14:12:10 squats. Got honked at from behind by dudes in a truck. I'm sure they got a shock when they passed me and saw that I'm an older woman. LOL.
  • Another non-running day for me, and just as well, because I am very stiff and sore from two Pilates classes yesterday.
  • Day off running for me, but I'm doing Pilates twice today. Pulled up quite well from the run yesterday. Keep it up, team.
  • Just finished W3D3, and did 10:12:12:10 squats. Week 4 really bumps up the length of jogs - yikes!
  • Non-running day for me today, but looking forward to tomorrow.
  • I so did not want to exercise today after a big night out last night. Too much wine and not enough sleep. :( But I did W3D2 with no problems, and I feel better for it. After my 'runs', I follow a Squats app, and I did 10:12:12:10 squats, the last 2 sets holding kettle bells. Why I need an app to tell me what to do, I have…
  • I'm 5ft 6in, and most of my adult life I was around 125 -130. No one ever called me skinny! I went through the dreaded menopause and broke my ankle two different times, all of which contributed to me ending up at 170 pounds. With diet and lots of exercise, I'm down to 140, and people are now saying I'm too skinny. Ummmm,…
  • YAY! Just completed W3D1, and did a little extra jog at the end. No aches and pains, touch wood.
  • Another non-running day for me, and indeed a rest day from strenuous exercise. I am looking forward to starting Week 3 tomorrow.
  • Non-running day for me today, so I have done a low-key Pilates class this morning, and plan on a high-energy Pilates class after work.
