And it's not even the end of the month. Yay me.

I thought the weekend would be a write-off because I was visiting friends for Xmas drinks, but we ended up having a lovely sunset walk for over 6kms. Sunday I did nothing, and today I managed to walk at lunch for 40 minutes around a cemetery near work.
-
Well, the temperature dropped enough to a 40 minute stroll, at a much slower pace than usual. But if I wasn't in this group, I would not have gone at all. So, yay for this group for getting me up off the couch.

So far no walking today because it has been too hot. I might go this evening if I have the energy. Went to the nice cool gym for an hour.
-
Whoops, forgot to log yesterday. Rudy and I completed almost 6km in an hour, and today we managed to get 6.7km in 70 minutes before it got too hot.
-
I'm 5'6' (165cm) and 130 lbs (59kg). The only measurement I know off-hand is that my waist is 30in (75cm). In Australia I am a 10, in the US I would be a 6.

Another beautiful day, so Rudy and I logged an hour and 10 minutes, about 7 km.
-
I am very impressed with the walkers who are logging long distances. I can usually get an hour of walking a day, but work and family get in the way.

I will never give up coffee. I have probably 3 to 4 a day, and what we call a large skinny flat white, extra hot: espresso shot, a little water, and half the cup filled with hot skim milk. No sugar. I make most of them at home or at work, and probably only buy one coffee a week away from home. I did quit coffee once before…

My weekend walking included 7.89km on Saturday and 6.40km on Sunday. The weather was beautiful and Rudy was very thirsty. Today (Monday) I managed to get 4km in at lunchtime, no high heels this time.

Just a short 45 minute walk today. I went to a very sad funeral today and it put a lot of things in perspective. He was a young man (45) who was born with just half of one kidney. He had a transplant about 20 years ago, and since then he devoted his life to being strong, fit and as healthy as he could be. He ran, he swam…

I feel bad that I didn't walk yesterday (lots of chores and driving around), but today Rudy and I walked about 6km in an hour. I felt fine but Rudy was exhausted.
-
Very short half hour walk today, at lunch time and in high heels. Mondays I work 10 hours, and I'm going to see Lucinda Williams right after work.
-
I didn't get to log in on Saturday, but I did walk 5.15km, and yesterday Rudy and I walked 6.7km in an hour and 15 minutes. Runkeeper tells me that I walked 35km this past week, a walking record for me. I used to go further when I was jogging, but I'm going to stick with walking at this point in my life.

Thanks for your recommendations. I swear podcasts are addictive. My daughter turned me on to 'Serial' and I'm hooked.

This is Rudy the giant GSD after 60 minutes and 5.5kms on a hot day. We walked in the shade and stopped at every water fountain. He's panting like a steam train.

Congratulations!

Rudy the giant GSD and I completed 6.6km in 1 hour and 8 minutes today. We incorporated plenty of hills, and through a busy shopping centre for doggie socialisation purposes. I'm listening to the podcast 'True Murder: The Most Shocking Killers in True Crime History and the Authors That Have Written About Them'. I admit I'm…

I have always been an avid music listener whilst walking, and before that, jogging. Now I have discovered podcasts, and I am walking longer without getting bored. There are so many podcasts out there, with interests for everybody. If you listen to podcasts, what are your favourites?
-
Those are beautiful white GSDs, AlphaHowls. Today Rudy and I walked 5.36km in 56 minutes, a shorter walk than usual because I have to go to work. :(
-
This is Rudy, the giant German Shepherd and my walking buddy. Today we walked 6.85 km in 1 hour and 11 minutes, and hopefully expended 350 cals.
-
Yes, please count me in. I will post doggie pics when I get home.

Definitely get fitted appropriately in a running store, and when you need to buy new ones, you can get them online places usually cheaper. I've been wearing ASICS Gel Kayanos for years, and replace them every 6 to 9 months.

Bah! No joy first week. I'm tipping it was the weekend cheese and wine. But back on track, with strength work, jogging and Pilates. I hope to be down at least 1 kilo by next weigh-in. Good luck everyone.

A massive bowl of air-popped popcorn.

Just found this group. I'm at the end of my weight loss effort, and have that stuck-like-glue 4 to 5 kilos to ditch. I weighed 61 kilos on Monday, so I would love to weigh 57 (my ideal weight) by March 1. I've changed up my exercise regime because I swear I can't eat much less :( I hate that the less I weigh, the less I…

Wearing whatever the hell I like, instead of 'flattering for the fuller figure' clothes. Having a waist again. Fitting comfortably behind the steering wheel of my car. Fitting within all the 'ideal' measurements like weight, inches, body fat that indicate good health now, and good future health. Did I mention clothes?

Bah! Late to the party as usual. But I'm back on board for the new year, with new goals. The holiday season was fun, and not too damaging weight wise, probably a couple of kilos. This year I am continuing with Pilates and dog-walking the giant German Shepherd, but I'm going to try and fit in two sessions of HIIT on the…
