Well, the temperature dropped enough to a 40 minute stroll, at a much slower pace than usual. But if I wasn't in this group, I would not have gone at all. So, yay for this group for getting me up off the couch.

That gave me my first morning smile!

Epic fail for me. Strained my calf a bit last Thursday and haven't been on a walk since. Changing that today.

Not much walking here either... 5602 steps yesterday, 2.4 miles. A seat came open to take the CBest test electronically so I'm doing it today. That will be a festive four hours! I spent yesterday in jammies taking sample math tests. Probably another low step day today too.

Wow! Was it cold! Hovering around 32*F, snow/ice pellets misting fine, cool winds blowing, and I was out there, in my little walker shorts, jacket...I did wear gloves and hat today. By gosh golly, I was walking! That really may be my limit though, 32*F is tough stuff!

First day of the challenge for me. I've been doing a WW challenge for the past year that's fun too. It's 250 miles in 6 months, which is pretty easy to do, so I've upped my limit to 400. Anybody interested in doing this too?

    12/19 5.40 miles

I thought the weekend would be a write-off because I was visiting friends for Xmas drinks, but we ended up having a lovely sunset walk for over 6kms. Sunday I did nothing, and today I managed to walk at lunch for 40 minutes around a cemetery near work.

    Catching up the weekend.
12/19: I had set my goal for Saturday to hit around 15 miles total but I ended up geocaching and hiking along a trail and before I could convince myself to turn around, I had hit the 11 mile mark. So, I had 11 miles to hike back as well. I was surprised at how good my legs and feet felt. My arms and shoulders, however, were suffering. But, glad to have gotten this badge:

    12/20: Football!

12/21: I slept every single minute that I could. I had one of the worst weekends of sleep I've ever had and today was definitely catch-up day. It doesn't make up for the poor sleep but I feel pretty good right now.

    Rest up; you've earned it.

After several days of miserably low steps due to testing, parties, work, etc I managed to get two decent days in a row! 10735 steps Sunday, 4.6 miles and 13732 steps Monday, 5.9 miles. Still nowhere near 100k steps a week but I am resigned to the fact that the holiday season is a sticky wicket and I need to be patient with myself & others. My tolerance for the treadmill is increasing.
(I'm up at 2:00 am because my college age daughter is home & at 1:00 am she came & got me in tears because she mislaid her purse somewhere out at dinner. So I walked her thru shutting down her bank card & now she's back asleep of course because she's 19 and I'm bolt awake as if I main lined coffee because I'm 52... life is so unfair! LOL)

:)Bruce, 50.000 steps is an awesome accomplishment

:)Alpha, we have rain here in NW Washington and snow in the mountains which means water in reserve for the summer so we are very happy even when wet

:)scolaris, you are a great mom to help your daughter with the scary thing of losing a purse (at least at 19 she didn't have a pile of credit cards like we older folks do)....we used to live in Humboldt County and I know my friends there are welcoming the rain.

50,000 steps, I cannot even imagine.

Barbie, my brother lives up in Washington. I watch his weather along with mine and it seems it rains all the time.

When I visited Seattle, the weather was absolutely perfect. Sunny every day and I'm not sure there was even a cloud in the sky the whole week.

Speaking of rain, tomorrows forecast is for 50's and rain showers. I usually walk to work and back but rain is the one thing that puts the kabosh on that. I guess I'll hope that there will be a window in the morning that I can make it home dry.

Today I got in about 5.3 miles. I am sooo looking forward to this four day weekend coming up. The weather looks to be unseasonably warm and no real threat of rain/snow.
