Good points about the treadmill Bruce.
Today was a total bust for me. 1997 steps. That's not even a mile :-(
I had a thirteen year old daughter having a homework meltdown, a twelve year old Honda needing a new battery, a 6+ hour drive to Oregon, and a husband to pick up from a meeting 90 minutes away in the opposite direction of Oregon.
Today was hard; fortunately most today's come with tomorrows attached...
I haven't step counted in Oregon yet. Curious to see how many steps I can get right here in our little 'wilderburb.'

Not sure if I am posting this right but I would like to join this group. Am I doing this correctly by responding to your post?

I feel bad that I didn't walk yesterday (lots of chores and driving around), but today Rudy and I walked about 6km in an hour. I felt fine but Rudy was exhausted.een9735abk1j.jpg

Fitbit and lawn mowing = no. It picks up vibrations, so that test was a big NO, I cannot wear it on the lawn mower. At least, it does not pick up vibrations while driving a car!

Met Striker the GSD and his owner along the way, so I put my weights down and took him with me for 5 miles this morning. On to the Grocery store now to get in more steps.

    Great job!
I'm heading out a fire road behind the cabin to scout an xmas tree. Too much fresh snow to drive in at this point perhaps, but also too little for snowshoes & a pulk so it looks like we'll have to just carry it out. I think that's today's workout right there... yup!

Got in 30 min yesterday with the dogs to keep the streak alive; haven't walked (yet) today but going to do around the block after dark to see the neighborhood Christmas lights. Tomorrow I'm in the office which always gets more walking out of me (Starbucks run is a good 2500 steps!)

Just a short 45 minute walk today. I went to a very sad funeral today and it put a lot of things in perspective. He was a young man (45) who was born with just half of one kidney. He had a transplant about 20 years ago, and since then he devoted his life to being strong, fit and as healthy as he could be. He ran, he swam and he bicycled. He was in the gym even in the week before his death. Fitness was his life, and it kept him going until his body just gave up. Rest in peace, Cameron.
