@bdfarrall Where are you exactly? My husband just got home from a four month detail in DC at national park headquarters. They put him up in Arlington VA & it was so fun to visit him there! I'm in love with old town Alexandria...

I was able to squeeze in 7.9 miles today. Tomorrow looks great, weather-wise, so I'm hoping to get out and get some good hiking in.

I met my daily goal of 6000, so yesterday I raised it to 7000 and I did it! I did laps inside the building at work and then kept walking once I got home. It was a good way to refocus my negative day into a more positive one. It is supposed to be nice out today, so I think I will go with hubby when he takes Tara (our furbaby) to the park. <3

    Great job!
I seem to have caught another mild head cold whilst subbing, so I only got in 8558 steps/3.7 miles on a very rainy Thursday, but yesterday was beautiful & I walked 18969 steps/8.2 miles.
My one-on-one sub assignment ended & im off for the next month, save for my weekend caregiving gig Sat & Sun mornings. Woot woot! Looking forward to some long morning walks & quiet days around the house & garden. And hanging out with my cat. Can't forget hanging out with my cat!

Okay, I might not get on every day, but here is my count so far.....I have my steps set at 7000 for my goal each day, but I sit at a desk all day. This week was my short week, I did ten hour days. 7 to 5:30. Doing overtime so I worked until almost 6. This is for Monday thru Thursday. Friday was errands and working a bit in am and in afternoon after lunch. Next week is 5 eight hour days and I will work 7 to 4:30 to get some overtime.
IF ANYBODY has any suggestions on how to fit exercise in I would appreciate some ideas.

December 1 total steps for day 4267 with 16 active minutes
December 2 total 3070 no active minutes
December 3 total 2866 no active minutes
December 4 total 3032 no active minutes

@scolaris I am in Fredericksburg, VA which is a little over 50 miles from DC. I work in DC so the commute with the traffic is brutal. I absolutely love old town Alexandria. If I could afford it, that's exactly where I would live!! Glad you enjoyed your visit here.

I didn't get to walk today but I did get on the stationary bike for 1 hour. Looking forward to walking tomorrow.

Struggling to get my walks in but my son and I went out tonight and took the pups for a 1.5 km walk. I ate too many cookies today and tomorrow is supposed to be my day off from exercise but I am thinking a 5 km walk is in order :)

:) I carry a pedometer all day so my step count is for all my walking and dancing.

    December 1--13.298 steps
    December 2--16,376 steps
    December 3--14,550 steps
    December 4--13,801 steps
    December 5--11,082 steps

In addition to podcasts, I listen to audiobooks that I check out from my local library.

roxyspitfire, I don't have a sedentary job so I don't know how to fit in exercise during the day, but when I inventoried my life, I noticed that I wasted a lot of time in the evening after supper but I was too tired to walk or exercise so I gradually made my bedtime earlier and my wake up time earlier so I had a big chunk of time in the morning before having to be somewhere and I could use that time for walking or other exercise.

    :)scolaris your cat is beautiful

Awww thanks Barbie. She's our first cat ever, a rescue Manx that was semi feral, and we're all sort of in awe of how clever & marvelous she is... Probably lots of cats are like this, but we never knew!

December 5 steps 9173 with 48 active minutes

barbiecat. - thanks. Here is what I am going to try this week... Instead of 30 minutes for lunch, I am going to try to clock out for an hour and do a 30 min walking tape with Leslie Sansone. The have some soup and 1/2 sandwich for lunch. Maybe that will also help with the sluggish way I feel in afternoon. Also that way if I am tired or can't exercise in evening, at least I have done something. There may be days that I get in an evening exercise with my husband

That sounds like a good plan Roxy!

Oh bdfarrall I feel for you. Just metro-ing in from Arlington was bad enough! He was working at the Dept of the Interior, so just a couple of blocks from the White House. Are you down in the fed zone or out in one of the neighborhoods?

Almost forgot: yesterday 16389 steps, 7.0 miles.
