  • There are a lot of great people on this site. You can do this!!! Lynn
  • Some of my favorite words from the book "The Four Agreements" Don't Take Anything Personally Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own experience and story. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering. We take things…
  • I finally bought a high powered fan that I place directly on me while on the treadmill and elliptical, and sometimes even when I am doing yoga or mat work. The suggestion about yin yoga is great. Good luck to all of us!
  • Here is a great article that sums it up: http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/increase-your-metabolism-start-losing-fat
  • I changed the meals on my food diary to include a morning, afternoon, and evening snack. I try to eat high protein. On days that I know I will have a meal out, I try to keep my other foods low calorie and add more exercise. It's also helpful for me to check the menu online before I go to a restaurant so I can preplan what…
  • I eat 3 meals and 3 snacks, usually all within the 300 calorie range. One of my favorites, a variation from a local cafe, around 250 calories: Special Turkey Sandwich * 100 calorie multigrain sandwich round * 1 T light or fat free mayo (or light creamy fruit flavored dressing) * 2 oz. sliced turkey * 1/3rd sliced medium…
  • Incredible progress!
  • Awesome progress!
  • If you want a laugh, look on youtube "Jenna Marbles how sports bras work" My daughters and I were rolling on the floor laughing
  • If you are in the US, look for a Hanes outlet store. They have fitting specialists and a couple sports bras that are specifically made for super support for well endowed women. Nothing could possibly move in these beastly bras. Good luck -- and keep moving!
  • Such an inspirational story. Thank you for sharing with us!
  • Definition of insanity: "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." There are a lot of incredibly bright and encouraging people on MFP who are willing to give of their time, experience, and offer advice when asked. I suggest: take what you want, leave what you don't, and be grateful to the many…

  • Thanks for taking the time to share your tips with us. I have noted several I plan to incorporate into my daily life. And a big congratulations for reaching your goal of weight loss and aerobic exericse
  • What a beautiful motivator! We've had saddlebreds and thoroughbreds for about 20 years. Cleaning stalls, trailers, hauling hay, feedbags, walking your horse to pasture, blanketing, walking the horse back to the barn, carrying tack, and washing and grooming your horse will be not only a wonderful workout for you, but will…
  • 13 pounds is terrific. Just imagine yourself at your goal ... and with your dear hubbie! Stay connected with MFP and you will get there. Congratulations to you, and thanks to your husband for serving.
  • That is the same beast that invades my home somewhere around 8 pm. I know that I don't do well ignoring the beast, so I have to feed him and plan for it. I added snacks to my food diary. Lately, it's been Walmart sugar free ice cream sandwiches (110 calories), I make sugar free brownies, low cal sugar free banana pudding…
  • We all have lulls when the scale is not moving and we feel discouraged because we are working so hard. Remember that the scale is only ONE measure of a healthier lifestyle. The scale is a number. Period. What are your other goals for this new lifestyle? Feeling better? More energy? Creating a leaner body with more muscle…
  • It's hard to get them crispy by baking fresh sweet potatoes cut for fries. Alexia has a great brand in the freezer section that crisps nicely. I have a recipe from WW that my family loves: spray cookie sheet with Pam, slice potatoes into 1/2 inch rounds, top with about 1 teaspoon of sugar free orange marmalade or apricot…
  • If you are familiar with yoga, just roll out of bed and do a few sun salutations, very slowly, listening to your body. Running after and holding a 19 year old will wear you out and make you sore all over. The sun salutaitons will ease you into the morning.
  • I love, love, love my Fitbit One. After I bought mine and became addicted, my boss, and several colleagues. The display is terrific. Personally, I also enjoy the silent, vibrating alarm. It is such a gentle way to wake up.
  • Part of this journey we are all on is to learn to be kind to ourselves. We are learning to lead healthy, active lifestyles and to love moving in our bodies. It sounds like you are not being a good friend to yourself. What would you tell your best friend if she raised this concern to you? You would tell her that she is…
  • What a great story! Congratulations to you - I know your family is happy to have an active Dad, especially in the mountains of WV where you can do so much with them outside!
  • Thanks for the tip on the Arctic Freeze ! I looked them up and both Walmart and Whole Foods carries it. It will be in my freezer tomorrow night
  • Regarding moving your belt over a notch -- That is NOT a "little" thing!! That is PROGRESS!!! Waytogo!
  • It is a "no elevator" day for me! I wore my flats to work and am only taking the stairs. I have to take "breathing" breaks on 7 floors and higher, but still stayiing out of the elevators! :smokin:
  • You are beautiful! That pic should have gone up a long time ago. Glad to see your pretty smile!
  • You look GORGEOUS!! Congratulations, and thanks for the inspiration!
  • I bought the FITBIT ONE so I could measure flights of stairs. It has encouraged me to take the stairs at work, and to go up and down my stairs at home also. I am surprised at how useful the sleep monitor is in identifying patterns: I have discovered that less sleep causes me crave more sugars in the afternoon as I become…
