Thanks for the advice everyone. Yes, I have been at this since January 13th, and I've been at 19lbs lost for a month. I'm definitely hiding the scale for a while and I'm going to up my calories slowly. Up until the personal issues, the 1200 calories were sometimes hard to meet so taking in more will be a slow process.…

I promise to do 20 minutes on the elliptical every day along with my 30 day shred workout. I also promise to up that time by 2 minutes every week until the end of this challenge on top of my strength straining =)

Yeah you need to listen to your body cuz I was completely out of shape when I started this weight loss journey. Good job on day 1 =)

Thanks y'all =)

I'm working on my upper body strength so I only use 2lb weights and I struggle with that by the end of the workout. I'm 5'1 and 175, started out at 192 on January 13th

I multiply my weight times 1.11 to give me the calories burned.....

Jillian is a beast!! I just completed Day 5 and I am looking forward to seeing the results. I took my before pics and measurements before I started and am going to take measurements every 5 days just because I am very impatient =) I am also doing a 1200 calorie diet and at least an hour at the gym (30 minutes cardio and 30…

By detox, what do you do? I've heard of others doing this and always wondered what they mean exactly by it. Thanks =)

Hi everyone! The name is Shelley and I call the great state of Alabama home!! That's right, I'm a Bama girl through and through!! I'll start with the things mentioned in the intro then add a few of my own. My favorite color is green, it's bright and happy and always reminds me of spring and summer. My favorite season is…

Like most here, I just let MFP count the calories and stay within my 1200 limit. However, I did completely cut out Mt. Dew. They are completely and totally off limits! I was the only one in the house that drank it so everyone has been told it is no longer allowed in my house....I went from having 5-6 20oz per day…

I'm on Day 2 and I am feeling the pain! But I know I am going to work through this pain and after reading the comments below, I'm looking forward to seeing the results in 30 days. I also incorporate gym time, and walking. Like today, I walked a very fast 5 miles before the 20 minute video. Feel free to add me and let's…

I've added my name to the spreadsheet. I will upload pics here on the 25th. I'm hoping to lose 30lbs during this challange and to be honest, losing more would be awesome because I started this journey in January with a goal of losing 70lbs by June 29th. Anyway, feel free to add me, looking forward to meeting and exceeding…

I started Day 1 today....for the second time. I tried it 2 weeks ago and the next day I couldn't hardly move. With that being said, if I really wanted to, I could have pushed through and made myself do it on day 2. It's low impact and there are 2 girls doing it. I agree with the other posts, you're ready when you're ready.…

I have read the other posts and I see that I really am lucky to have a husband so supportive of my wanting to be healthy. And he has even decided to join me. He changed my membership to a family membership at the gym so he could work out with me, we have gone repeatedly to the walking track, and now all I have to do is get…

Update: My husband walked 2 miles with me yesterday =)

My husband of 17 years is probably as supportive as he can be but has chosen not to join me on this journey. When we met, I was 125lbs 5'1 , he was 160 lbs 5'8, and we were both fit as a fiddle, and both were one of THOSE skinny people. Unfortunately, I am now wishing I could be one of those skinny people again. He will…

Bad genetics I guess or it could be the fact that I was raised on good southern fried food 7 days a week, as a kid I was very active and very athletic then as a young adult no activity whatsoever...my heart is better, no more issues, my blood pressure is finally under control and I don't even have a want for the cigarette…

I became overweight by basically having a no movement life. My life consisted of getting up, getting the kids to school, going to the couch, getting in the shower, going to bed. that was it. and i always had a mt. dew in my hand. Most people would think that a heart attack at the age of 28 would open my eyes but it didn't.…

thank you!! I appreciate it. I do feel a lot better now, and I feel a lot healthier. I have done more research and still need to do more but I've gotten some better snacks to eat and some special K protein bars to eat too

Mt. Dew =( Every now and then I will have a few sips of Mello Yello but I can not have any Mt. Dew....if I had a sip, I would fall off this wagon head first into a big glass of Mt. Dew...lol It's been almost 2 months I think since I've had one and I'm not missing them anymore =)
-
Makes perfect sense...thanks =)

All of this stuff has been really helpful and I thank all of you for the help. Mostly I have cut out the sodas. I still have a sip every now and then, but for the most part, it's when I eat. I was always eating late, really late at night, then going straight to bed which I know is very bad.

this sounds really good....lol

I log everything I eat, no matter what it is and I have been regularly logging less than 1000 calories per day. But good or bad, I do not lie about what I am taking in because I really need to know what my pattern is. I know it's hurting me and I need to change it but I am not hungry and don't know what to do. I posted a…

Congratulations to all who have completed this 30 Day Shred!!! I completed my first day and was unable to do anything, go to the gym, walk normal, or bend over because I was in so much pain. I realized that I enjoy the gym way too much at this time and the gym is way too important to my life at this time so I have…
