I'm working on it! I have a long slow process with chronic illness :( Just shy of 20 lost, at least another 30 to go to make my doctors happy! Feel free to add me!

WELL...my take is that you can totally work the coffee you love into your daily calories and enjoy life one cup at a time :) That being said, I drink one cup of black coffee (espresso) brewed strong and piping hot each morning. Then, I use chocolate or vanilla protein powder, coffee, and ice in the blender to make a…

LOVE the polka dots with the red. So very retro cool! Congratulations to a fantastic "during"!

ME TOO....size 12! Donated all of the 14s and 16s straight away! Plus, for the first time in many many moons, I can wear a woman's medium. Tried on the xlarges, then the larges, then determined that the mediums fit without cramming. Indeed, it is a great week!

I understand IBS varies person to person. I have diarrhea prominent IBS. I do best eating oatmeal or rice daily, and adding some psyllium powder to my day. It really helps me bulk up, and a little goes a long way. You might ask your dr about it. I started small to avoid bloating and cramps, and now just titrate based on my…

I am only starting to see changes in my body, and that is after losing 19 pounds. I think the best thing here is to measure, take the progress pics, and stick with it. I've only been at it since January, and am losing SLOWLY. When I look at myself in the mirror, I don't see smaller. But, my clothes fit differently, and I…

I've been on a raw cauliflower, broccoli, and sliced cucumber snack kick. I mix up some balsamic vinegar, plain rice vinegar, mustard, and a shake of psyllium powder to thicken it up a bit and voila...super low calorie filling snack. It's REALLY easy for me to eat 100 calories of chips or crackers or popcorn and I am not…

Did your doctor recommend a specific plan? Many universities and major health centers offer such programs, reserved for those that are obese or overweight. Some opt for these as a last resort prior to surgery. They are physician monitored, you meet with a dietician, have lab work done every week or so, have weekly weigh…

ME too. I just shake my head at those that lose 1-2 pounds each and every week. I am like 3 pounds or nothing, up a little, hold steady, hold steady, hold steady and REALLY getting frustrated, then boom 3 pounds down. Knowing is half the battle! Congrats on your success! Do you take measurements? I know when I held at 175…

For me, I was really trying NOT to buy stuff. But, when the weight crept up at 180 pounds I had to buy bigger stuff. And, at 163, I am smack in between the fat stuff and the old stuff. Fat pants literally fall off when belted, old stuff not zipping or buttoning. FRICK. So, I bit the bullet and bought some new pants to get…

I've got a question maybe you can help with. I've been making my own salad dressings with balsamic vinegar, plain rice vinegar, a little bit of mustard, and a dash of splenda. I'm trying to keep the dressings oil free and low calorie. The issue I am having is that the dressing is super watery and makes a splashy drippy…

I used to drink a ton of coffee with milk and sweetener. Added up to a few hundred calories a day. Now I brew Pete's espresso forte in a french press. WAY better coffee, and I like it piping hot and black. YUM. It isn't REALLY espresso, but it is a great cup of coffee. Plus it smells like heaven. You might try different…

I'm at 17 pounds lost in 20 weeks, and I'm happy as a clam so far. Some go fast, some go slow. It all depends on you and what works. But, if you work the calories and are honest, it does work :)

Well...not sure how motivating this is...but I have suffered chronic illness the past year and am totally sedentary (actually less than that). I am going low calorie (1200 ish) and slow as I can't feasibly increase my activity. But, no worries. The weight has slowly come off, a little less than a pound a week average since…

Such a great motivator! Awesome job in 6 weeks! And healthy eating and walking...I just LOVE this! Such a great way to live and succeed! Congratulations! You are doing great. Isn't it a kicker that the mirror looks the same but the pictures look smaller? I'm down 17 pounds and still don't really see it, until I look at the…

WAHOO!!!! Congrats. In addition to all of the fun shopping, think of the wonderful gift towards great health you have given yourself! Amazing :)

Pack your lunch, and take options. What worked for me: I made my own "uncrustables" on whole wheat with pb and grape jelly. Just cut them in half and freeze. Make a bunch and stack them in the freezer, and grab one on your way out the door. Plop it in your pocket. Around 2 hours later that sandwich will be ready to eat.…

I'm a little butt hurt. I thought it was from reading this, but now think it may be the frozen pineapple I had in my smoothie! Silly me....

Well....I am a bit behind in all the new posts! I had a rough weigh in at 177, up from my 173.5 lbs but still better than my start of 183. I slipped a little this week with mom in town and going out, plus a few pieces of chocolate birthday cake, and then yesterday I ate a medium pizza over the course of the evening and the…

I'm on a bit of a budget nowadays....so I take lipton black tea, put 4 bags in a 2qt pitcher and put it out on the balcony for the day. It makes a nice brewed tea, and then I can stash it in the fridge and add a slice of lemon or some mint or a splash of nectar (my favorite). Or just pop a cup in the microwave and the…

Hello all! Monthly measurements are in, down 4 inches in February! So holding at 173 (10 pound loss) and down a total of 7.5 inches since starting in January. It isn't looking like I will be at the 20 pound marker by Easter, but I would be happy if I was down another 3 inches  Not bad for 8 weeks of work! Mom is…

Hey that's 20 minutes more than I will ever do on an elliptical :)

I really only trust my polar heartrate monitor for steady state cardio (like my long uphill walking on the treadmill) It gives me a high calorie read for my weight sessions, and I know that I very likely did not burn 400+ calories lifting for 30 minutes or doing my crunches and lunges. I maybe burn that with 45 minutes of…

YES! Isn't it amazing what some muscle can do for the body? So many are caught up in the pounds and the weight. I would app those 2 pics side by side and tag each "123 pounds". Goes to show what hard work and dedication you are capable of! Friday Happy Dance for you too, you have earned it!

@ericasaucedo that is a FANTASTIC first week! Congratulations! Friday happy dance for you too!

TGIF, today marks day 21 of weight workouts hence time for my 3 week photos! I don't do calendar weeks because I can't workout everyday, but feel free to take a look. I tossed the week 2 vs 3 comparisons on my profile pics as well. I have a ways to go to hit 133 pounds, but this is my just shy of 10 pounds results. HAPPY…

@kufahlaatc123 you are looking great! I can really see it in the midsection :) Awesome!

These are my pics so far, each "week" is 7 workouts. I am not going every day as I have dr limitations, but here is what 21 workouts looks like and a bit along the way. I stay on level one and modify for less impact on my knees. Level one is working out just fine for me! I have lost a total of 7.5 inches in this time,…

What does your doctor say? Highly suspicious they did not say pop the pain pills and run one last race 2 months from now before settling down.... :) This sounds like injury, is a medical issue, and needs to be followed by professionals. Lots of great advice here, but you should have a doctor/Ortho/PT or similar following…

The last 2 times I have been doing chest flies at the gym I check out my armpit cleavage instead of my floppy arms. Isn't that why they have mirrors? ;)
