My trainer is doing 20 hour fasts eating only at night and uses chia seeds in water to feel full during the day. I think he's crazy but he is getting nicely cut.

Probably pushups and tricep dips. Do pushups on your knees if you have to. I do a lot of strength training but I think the pushups do just as much for me. That was what really made me stronger and more defined.

We used to call the spin instructor at the gym "Miss NoButt".

I mixed some protein shake mix into mine just now. Usually just eat it plain tho. I used to always eat it with a spoonful of grape jelly. Delicious.
-
I compromised and mixed my protein shake mix in my cottage cheese just now. ;^) I suppose if I needed more fat I could mix it with some ice cream...

You're doing great! Keep going! Fast weight loss is often yoyo weight loss. Slow weight loss last.
-
Yay. Just bought 8s myself, too, so they would be nice and tight! So I'll keep going...
-
Well, in most brands I try I'm a 10, but I just bought 8s so they would still be tight. I find the tighter my jeans fit, the more incentive I have to keep going down! (Those are some old 14s in the pic, the largest size I ever bought...) There is a lot of vanity sizing. As a kid in the 70s I always wore an 11 or 13, but I…

Yup. Very.

Abs at 54....

Math. 25% of calories from protein used for digestion. 10% from carbs. 5% from fat. Fat: 1 gram = 9 calories Protein: 1 gram = 4 calories Carbohydrates: 1 gram = 4 calories Alcohol: 1 gram = 7 calories

Oh, and Vitamin D3 helps too. Although that may be bro science...

Pilates. Bar Method. Russian twists, leg lifts, sit ups, curl, and jack knives. Diet... repeat until flat. But I don't think I had really flat abs til Bar Method. Best workout ever.
-
Running as fast as they can from cheetahs? I dunno. Most I burn is 495 in a level 2 Bar Method workout. That's about as intense as I wanna go.
-
More protein. More veggies. Throw some eggs and veggies and stuff in there.

I've been lifting for years and I know there are muscles in there somewhere! Nah, my trainer does tease me when my biceps pop.

Do a gentle yoga class, hatha or Iyengar. No reason to stick with a class you don't like, or an exercise you don't like. You can get yoga benefits from Pilates as well or just a good stretch workout. If you stick with whatever class you're in, ask for modifications if something hurts. A good instructor will know how to…

Right there with you. Other people get the "great job!" for losing 50 pounds or whatever, but when you only need to lose a few hardly anyone notices.

Lols. These hips and thighs aren't going anywhere! I always lose in the middle first. Pear shaped means you're going to lose last in the hips and thighs, that's how we're built. You can tone 'em up, though and make 'em thinner. I'm finding Bar Method really helps there, along with lots and lots of squats.

Pick up a copy of "Body Sculpting Bible for Women" and save yourself the cost of the trainer. Or get a better trainer... Basically for a lower weight you should be doing more reps, at a higher weight you do fewer reps. And if you have a bad back you shouldn't be doing back extensions or leg raises.

Eat goldfish instead? Fewer calories anyway... Or just eat cheese. That's what I do. Still a diet pepsi addict, though. I do get stevia sodas when I can, or drink iced tea when I can. You could also try adding a bit of fruit juice to sparkling water if you're really trying to kick the soda.

fast, convenient, tasty, and easy to drink and digest after a workout to rehydrate and get my protein as well.

Jay Robb egg or whey, Sprouts Show Me The Whey, Designer Whey. and MRM egg protein are my faves. I've tried vegan pea protein and do not like it at all.

Watching what you eat works. If that's what gets people to watch what they eat, cool. For me tracking what I eat seems to suffice.

Sigh. Lose healthy, not fast. Losing weight just to lose weight for an event is kind of lame. Lose it for your health and lose it PERMANENTLY.

How can tea or coffee be 200 calories if you don't sweeten them?
-
Quest, Luna, Clif Builders, Balance and NuGo currently in the pantry. I like variety. There's also Corazona bars and Greek yogurt bars in there. Lots of variety...

Stir quickly, it burns more calories! ;^)

When I lived in Arizona I would go up and down seven pounds a day just trying to stay hydrated. ;^) Don't worry about it too much. I was up a pound this morning, too. My weight shifts 3 to 4 pounds every day with hydration. Unless you're cutting for a competition, if you feel well enough, why worry?

Sluggish/lack of gym and tighter clothes sounds like water weight and bloating to me. Are you eating differently than you were? Or maybe just normal time of month cycle? Or not enough protein, maybe? Could be a lack of magnesium or iron. My solution to this sort of thing is lean meats, especially fish, or eggs or beans if…
