Kind of a lazy omelet since I was splitting with hubby. Crab meat, spinach, and fontina cheese. Wonder if I will get a disagree on this one like on my last post. Are people disagreeing that this is what I ate?

Do you have diagnosed binge eating disorder? How often does something like this happen?

Why do you think it would matter what time you stop eating by, for weight loss?

Depending on your stats and goals you can probably eat more than 1200 calories and still lose weight. And yes you can eat any food, in moderation, and be successful with your weight goals Most people know that basic nutrition is important. I’m going to assume you do as well and aren’t planning to forgo things like eating a…

Weight loss isn’t easy but it is simple. Consume fewer calories than you burn. There are thousands of individual ways to apply that simple rule though. Don’t make it harder than it needs to be. If saying no to pizza and pop becomes too challenging it may cause you to lose motivation. Consider if you can eat those things in…

Another way for what? Why would eating more protein help OP with their specific goal?

Depends what you like. Lettuce Wraps as a starter are one of their signature items. I also second the vote for Mongolian beef but I enjoy the Kung Pao shrimp and the garlic green beans as well.

I lost ~35 lbs with logging daily, counting calories, no major food restrictions, all things in moderation and exercise mostly walking, light dumbbell circuit routine and the occasional weekend hike. Are you skeptical that you’ll find many examples of success with this approach because I think you’ll find it’s pretty…

But what if it’s leap year?

We need the awesome button back!

I’m sitting at 50% AF for the first 20 days of the month so feel pretty good. Weekend plans are a little up in the air - lots going on around town with Mardi Gras celebrations and some events we typically try to fit in at this time of year but hubby is still coming off of sickness so he’s not super motivated to get out and…

That’s amazing! Sounds like an awesome way to redirect those savings! Can’t wait to hear what you come up with!

Your first sentence is fine. The rest is rubbish. What are bad carbs and why are they bad? How do they negate the basic laws of thermodynamics by causing one to store fat in a deficit?
-
Why don’t you log your exercise?

If you hired a carpenter to build you bookshelves, and he didn’t use a tape measure to check the dimensions of your space or a level to ensure that the finished product was straight - instead relying on eyeball estimates - leaving you with something that was “close enough” , would you think that made him more skillful than…

AF M-Th this week so far, means I have more AF days (7) than drinking days (6) at nearly the halfway point of the month!

Whether you count them or not, weight loss comes from a calorie deficit, period. Plenty of people are successful at weight loss and weight management without religiously counting/logging, but plenty more people gain weight or fail to lose all the while perplexed because they are “eating healthy”. Best of luck to you.

I would check out Pinterest for ideas and recipes.

But if you’re using MFP as designed, logging and eating back the purposeful exercise calories, then it should be the same as your TDEE method? In fact for people who don’t exercise daily or whom have variable exercise calorie burns, using NEAT plus exercise cals when they apply avoid the situation where their overall…

I don’t know why this got bumped but I did enjoy reading back through it for the LOLs and the hypocrisy.
-
Just going to ask again - why not just input your stats, Non exercise activity level, and goal of losing 1lb/week into MFP and let this system provide you a NEAT calorie target? Then when you exercise, log and eat back those calories? For most people that’s a lot simpler than using other calculators especially if your…

Weekend update - drinks Friday, Sat and Sunday but... both Sat and Sunday were drinks at events and when I got home both nights I thought “do I want another glass of wine” which would have required me to open a bottle and I decided on tea both nights. This is very atypical for me. Nothing social planned during the week and…

If you used MFP to get your 1300 cal target, that is excluding any exercise. So when you do work out, you are meant to log and eat back those calories.

I’m sitting at my desk at work and have been for about 2.5 hours and my FitBit Versa says HR is 68 right now. The 30 day trend says imminent averages around 70? That’s high compared to some of you!
-
Are you logging and eating back those exercise calories? That can often be the difference b/w having only calories to cover the basics, and a bit of a buffer to allow room for some treats. Are you sure you are really sedentary? Meaning you get less than 5,000 steps/day?
-
I too was a MFP member before I got my FitBit, set at sedentary initially, and surprised at how high the adjustments were. I also got the good advice to change my activity level since at the time I was averaging 10k steps/ day which is def not sedentary. When I changed to the more accurate lightly active setting, the…

What are your goals? What is your calorie target? What beverage are you trying to fit in? How much and how often? How do those calories fit into your day or weekly allotment?
