  • You’re a wizard! That seemed to be it. I had noticed that instead of listing FitBit on my step tracking on the front page it was saying something else but I didn’t clue into it. When I went to the link you posted it had Map My ... selected and not FitBit. Switched those up and it’s now showing my FitBit step count for…
  • @heybales and @janejellyroll hoping one of you can assist an old, veteran pal here. I've been AWOL from the forums for a while but still logging on MFP and using FitBit for activity. About a week ago FitBit stopped syncing over to MFP. I also had one day where Map My Walk wouldn't sync either, but it later caught up. I can…
  • Is anyone having sync problems with this again or just me? FitBit and MFP haven’t synced since Friday (it’s Tuesday) and nothing from Map My .... is syncing either.
  • In, as long as I am on social media/forums. I had to limit some of the noise last month and decided to take a break from forums. I’m not sure what April will hold and I’m not setting specific goals - the days blur together so much, and moods change hourly. March ended with 13/31 days AF and that includes a few in the last…
  • Checking in on the last day of the month... happy we all survived what has undoubtedly been the craziest March on record and April is shaping up the same. So sorry to @whitpauly and @MissMay on the job front that’s so tough with everything going on right now - stay strong and virtual hugs to you both. We are doing ok here…
  • What is your calorie goal? What are your overall goals? Are you dividing up your calories among meals any certain ways? Are you following any specific dietary restrictions?
  • I haven’t seen anything alluding to that yet in the local paper online but it wouldn’t surprise me. I did just read that Bayer is closing one of its offices here for deep cleaning because an employee is suspected of having the virus, it’s possible that could be a family member of the study abroad student that has been…
  • Good luck @MissMay you got this! Weekend cabin getaway was lovely lots of nice spring weather, a hike, sunset by the lake with a fire in the fire pit. Taught the kids how to play poker. Watched Rudy with the kiddos and Tombstone with the hubby. Both great movies. Sunday was supposed to be AF and I even stayed strong…
  • We have our first case in my town (St Louis) because of a study abroad student returning in a hurry from Italy. Apparently she flew through Chicago, took an Amtrak home, and upon return did go to a local hospital for testing and the family was advised to self quarantine, only they didn’t... younger siblings went to school…
  • Fully agree but as OP seems to have a tendency to bounce around from one diet to another- it might be time to just go with the KISS approach. Is there a reason OP that you are going for these random and extreme plans instead of just diligently logging and tracking the foods you like to eat, within a calorie deficit?
  • Can someone please link the “a list of calorie dense foods” thread?
  • Interestingly someone on my FB feed shared the exact post, word for word, a few minutes ago.
  • Also with only 5kg to lose you should be aiming to lose 0.25 kilo per week which would likely have you at a higher calorie target than 1200. Are you working out as well? Why are you doing IF?
  • @shorepine I totally get being proud of that half glass of good wine and not going back for more! My downfall is always the “well the bottle is open might as well have some more” mindset which is why I’ve taken to buying some of the small box or canned wine which aren’t as bad as they sound...
  • Same here. I make extra of whatever protein and veg we are having for dinners. I try to make extra starches but my kids and husband tend to go back for seconds on those during dinner so a lot of times I don’t have leftovers or those - so I keep a lot of the ready rice packets on hand and can take those to work in a pinch…
  • When I first joined this group I had a lot of those internal debates between drinking brain and sober brain. I don’t have them that often anymore but I have been thinking to myself - do I need to plan out my days that I will be “allowed” to drink at the beginning of the month or can I go back to more of a casual approach…
  • One other thing I don’t think we’ve touched on much in this thread is the economic impact this will have, particularly on small business owners reliant on travel and tourism directly and indirectly. A colleague shared the story of the shoe shine guy at the airport hawking the corona special - buy one foot shine get the…
  • Agreed, thanks @Lillymoo01 for your insightful, thought provoking and logic grounding words. I would love to share some of them on other social media channels as I think your advice could really resonate with a lot of people but obviously would share it as “quoted from a doctor specializing in infectious diseases on…
  • Between arbitrary contractions and superfluous quotation marks this thread has turned into a mockery of basic grammatical good practice...
  • So far 4/5 days AF. Weds I had also planned to be AF but I had a decent day at work, got suckered into signing up for a PTO board position at my kids school for next year, and husband and I ate a late dinner catching up on some Netflix after the weeknight madness. Decided some Pinot Grigio sounded good - opened a can (yes!…
  • Sesame noodles with asparagus and snap peas in the instant pot. Leftover teriyaki pork tenderloin.
  • My company cancelled all large meetings/workshops, non essential travel and (intl and domestic US) and employees returning from any of the higher risk zones including China, Iran, Italy and now France and Germany are asked to work from home for two weeks before returning to the office. They also set up a 24 hour hotline by…
  • Just out of curiosity, is the use of the apostrophe intentional here? necessities're If so, what English word are you contracting with necesseties?
  • Thank you! I was finishing reading before I corrected. This is the way.
  • Ham and fontina cheese panini on Italian bread with herb butter. Air fryer brussel sprouts.
  • 3AF days out of 3 so far for me as well!
  • If anyone is interesting in a fascinating dystopian fiction book that seems eerily relevant right now, Station Eleven, about a global pandemic that wipes out >99% of society is really good, it's about what happens 5 years later with the survivors and all the ways you would have to rebuild technology, culture, etc. I read…
  • This! We get McDonalds occasionally when on a road trip or busy weekends with the kids, although mine prefer other FF joints. I usually go for a McDouble or Grilled chicken in those instances. However, any time I return from international trips, especially if I fly through O'Hare as I often do, I stop at McDonalds and get…
  • We have a corporate task force dedicated to evaluating our supply chain risk and employee risk as we are a large global company. The advice is to stock up on some basics is to consider having ~2 weeks of supplies for every person in your household. This is not only to be prepared if you are impacted/quarantined - but also…
  • Sounds like you need to get your information from more reliable sources if your reasons for concern are "a lot of people hate carbs and sodium".
