I started at 1200 and was miserable. Almost immediately switched my goal to .5/week. It's been steady at exactly that. It's taken a year and a half but I have no problem with that. I eat whatever I want to, when I want to. I've never felt like I was "dieting". I just made some healthy changes...eat a little less, exercise…

I love target for things like tanks and cardigans. The had some cute maxi skirts this summer but I don't know if I'd call a lot of their stuff "cute". I do most of my shopping online, particularly a relatively new site called Zulilly.com. They have "events" that last about three days then they end. It means new things show…

If the thought of the gym is just too intimidating right now, what about walking? I know you said you tire easily so start slowly. Even if you start with five minutes, it's five minutes you aren't sitting. If you increase it by a minute a day you'd be up to thirty minutes in a month. It really is baby steps, one small…

I'm not sure I can address all of your questions but I'll give it a go and I'm sure others will weigh in. I found a good place to start was with a calorie calculator for daily calorie intake. Many seem to like this one: http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/ It's only an estimate but is a good place to…

"Timing" your meals isn't such a biggie. Eat when you have a break, it's not important when. What you eat is tough when you work in fast food. Bring healthier choices and don't rely on what's at hand. My favorite? Turkey sandwich and a Greek yogurt, but figure out what works for you. Good luck in school and your new job!

Totally with you here! AEO jeans for sure. A lot of tops from a website called zulilly.com that has lots of different, fun stuff. I'm 55 but didn't realize there was a cutoff where I was supposed to go conservative. Oops!

I wish that I could recommend specifics to you but I belong to a yoga studio and am not really familiar with specific videos. I just wanted to tell you to please give it a try. The benefits are numerous. There are many different styles, from high energy to serene and meditative. I would head to YouTube and just start…

I love my fitbit and wouldn't be without it. I bought a zip for under $50 on Amazon. It's a great motivator and I like being able to track my TDEE weekly and monthly, I feel like its a better estimate of my calories burned than the online calculators. Definitely worth it to me!

Fruit. I just don't like it. Too sweet.

Your metabolism doesn't suddenly stop when you go to sleep. Your body doesn't need to be "kick started". Eat your first meal when you choose.

What a beautifully written piece, a real example of what Motivation and Support really means. I loved it.

Shrimp sautéed in a mustard and lemon pepper sauce with angel hair pasta. A slice of French bread and a glass of Chardonnay. Not very low cal but I promise I'll make veggie stir fry tomorrow, ok?

Starvation mode is virtually non existent for people that are average or overweight. Until you can become more active, seems that 1548 is correct. Hope you heal soon

I absolutely think good, well fitted shoes make a difference. I also walk/run on a treadmill and was having a lot of foot and knee issues. I was custom fit as you describe by a small independent running store near me. Pain completely resolved. Try searching "running shoes" or "running store" plus the name of your town.…

Personally, I'm unmotivated to drive to a gym. I use at home dumbbells only. I'm following the New Rules Of Lifting For Women book and there are dumbbell modifications for virtually every move. Use whatever you will stick with.

Maybe it was a typo, but 15,008 minus 11,279 is only a 3729 cal deficit. This is about a pound. There could be myriad reasons why that pound on paper doesn't equal your actual weight loss. Water fluctuations or retention, even slightly inaccurate logging can make a difference. I think you may need to listen to hubby and be…

I really like a pair by American Eagle that I have. They are a superstretch fabric that molds itself to your body. Super comfy.
