Oh Wow! Tress! I will pray for you! How scary! I've got a couple non scale goals during this challenge, which will hopefully help me with the scale goals! 1: I am going to keep track of my screen time every day. Just on a piece of paper, tracking it for now to see how I could make improvements in the future. 2: I am going…

Well, the bad news I didn't loose any weight this challenge. The good news is I didn't gain any either. Apparently I'm just practicing for the future when I actually reach my goal and need to maintain haha. I'm so up for a new challenge, either holiday is great!

Derp, I forgot to weigh myself this morning. Will report tomorrow.

Nice work ladies! @CumberlandGrammy I think it's such a good idea to set a monthly mileage goal. You are so smart! I'm going to try it for Feb! Well, I've got something interesting to report. I've dragged my very patient husband onto the floor the last couple nights to do some partner yoga. Just mild, stretching kind of…

My goal this weekend in to not be tempted into eating out more then once. This has been a big contributing factor for my troubles, and anyway, it's too expensive. I'm making a crock pot dinner right now for tonight and tomorrow night. Good job me.

Greetings "Something to Celebrate" Friends! Some of you might remember me from past challenges, and whoever I don't know yet I can't wait to get to know! Yup, I fell off the wagon. Fell off and laid in the middle of the road for a few months. Gained back almost all the weight I had so diligently lost. Well, the wagon came…

Everyone needs to look at this amazing blog. http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/ Chocolate covered Katie has lots and lots of "alternative desserts", none of which have eggs or dairy, and many of which are gluten free. I find her recipes to incredibly easy to tailor to your needs.

Yes to quinoa! I put it in everything! You can eat it hot or cold, plain or with sauce, sweet or salty, it's a miracle food! Make sure you buy "pre-washed" (or spend the energy/time to wash it yourself) or it will be bitter. You can cook it just like rice, even half rice and half quinoa in the same pan. Put one cup quinoa…

I've never been to Vegas, but I'm going this fall for my sister's wedding, I want the answer to this question too!

Ok I love the sounds of every single thing here on this thread so far! Yum! I make rhubarb muffins and rhubarb cake too, top the muffins with just a sprinkle of sugar and you get this sort of candy crunchy top which is just so amazing next to the moist tart rhubarb....Double Yum! @seltzermint, I have that exact yogurt in…

If you have celiac then you even have to watch your soap, shampoo, lotion etc. Wheat makes such a great thickener/filler, and cheap too, it's literally in everything. I've even found it in bottled fruit juice and sunblock. I've had doctors prescribe medicine with gluten in it, multiple times. A nurse tried to feed me a…

Sounds like your wife should exercise with both you and your daughter next time!

I eat chocolate very nearly every day, just got to 25 pounds lost today. Especially at the time of the month, just eat the stupid chocolate, if you end up bingeing by accident, just do better tomorrow.

Thank you all! I am also in the process of learning to tell the difference. I think I actually made huge progress just by discovering that I do eat for emotional reasons. This whole "I'm always hungry" thing is a very strong feeling, but I can beat it....right now I can't beat it every day, but baby steps!
-
Thank you, Florence, for posting this, I am also new and also always hungry. Thank you kts for this thought about the difference between the two hungers, it never occurred to me to look into it, or even try to tell the difference. This helps so much!

Ok that's exactly funny, but it's sort of funny. I know exactly what you mean about seeing how far over your calories you went and then being like screw it and just keep eating. Hope you learned something at the workshop anyway!

Going gluten free helps a lot of people feel better who aren't even officially intolerant. There is actually nothing in wheat that you need, nothing at all, it's basically useless for your body. Yahyahyah, whole wheat is a whole grain, I know, but there's nothing there that you can't get from other, better whole grains…

As others have said, Udi's and Rudi's, for both bread and wraps. If you can't find them in your area you could try asking the grocery store people to order them for you, I've had good luck at mine with requesting them to carry items. The hard part of both of these is that they have to stay frozen, so you can't travel with…

KnitnPonder your "temper tantrum" is NOTHING to the way I have behaved due to diet restrictions! You were a little pouty and so you ordered some stuff you can actually eat. I have literally had a temper tantrum like a small child at my husband because I was hungry and couldn't eat what I wanted. I have been living GF, and…

My go-to travel food is "That's It" bars. They're just dried fruit in a sealed granola bar form. Easy to pack, easy to eat, and so filling I can only eat half of one at a time. I have an active outdoor job, so they're great for pocketing and eating a bite between tasks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9QbC41oQRo A musical (to the tune of a Les Miserables song) entitled "One Grain More". edited to add that I'm sorry I don't know how to make the link clickable so you'll have to copy and paste, but it's worth it!

Ok, you can do this. It's weird, and it's hard, and it's not very fun, but you can do it, and it IS worth it! Rice is fine, gluten free, and easy to digest. There's lots of different ones out there try different kinds, like jasmine rice, thai purple sticky rice, sushi rice, wild rice, go crazy! Make some brown rice and put…

I am doing the same, lost 20 pounds a year ago, but didn't accept friend requests, gained back 10 of those pounds, now I'm back, making heaps of friends (in fact the OP is one of them that's how I found this post!) and I've already lost 6, just 4 more to go till I'm at the point I was when I quit, but I know I'm not going…

Hi Susan! Welcome to the Pal! Yes, where you choose you goals is one calculator. If you look under the "APPS" tab you'll find BMI and BMR calculators too. Most people here find it very difficult to loose 2 pounds a week unless you have quite a lot to loose. You might try setting your goal to just one pound a week and see…

YES! Morton! This is what we're talking about! It's actually pretty fun once you get going, isn't it?! Make it like a challenge or a game instead of a chore, you'll be feeling better in no time flat! Congrats on your first moves!

Hi Morton! Welcome to the the Pal! Hey, it's tough to get started, but cutting out soda is a great start! I am still too attached to do that, so way to go! Look up Leslie Sansone on YouTube. Here's a good starter video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndVjwkaLGDk Is it dorky? YES Does the dog give you that "WTF Human?"…

All of the above! And whoever was talking about canned soup and it's uneven number of servings, AMEN! I have trouble sometimes guesstimating fruit or veggie servings, because they vary in sizes so greatly, I know I know I know I'm supposed to weigh the silly things, but "ain't nobody got time for that", and anyway, they're…
