Happy Birthday!! <3 And congrats on all your progress. :)

That's already a step in the right direction! Something that helped me starting out was taking, like, a box of milk duds (surprisingly low-cal compared to other candies) or gummy bears and portioning out half-servings into snack bags. I'd have to hide the bags from myself because otherwise I'd eat them all anyway, but one…

The Crying Game edit to add: Yes, him; not me.

lol For real. Just keep in mind it'll come off just as easily as it showed up. ;)
-
I don't. LOL Okay, I do sometimes, but I disregard the number because I know it's not real for 3/4 of the year.

Real friends lift each other up; not tear each other down. Find some real friends and you'd be amazed at the difference it makes in your life. Once you have even one or two REAL friends, everything else matters less and less.

Knowing is half the battle. It is rough starting out. For those days when I felt like I just HAD to have something in my mouth I kept a ton of carrots in the fridge. Also, if you have the willpower, mini chocolate bars don't have a superton of calories. One to satisfy the craving. If you don't think you can do just one…

Yes and no? I find myself completely ravenous the week prior, but the week of I generally do okay.

Almost definitely waste weight. I've lost anywhere from 2.5-4lbs after not going for three weeks. (it happens to me a few times a year so I started checking just for kicks)

Hello Kitty fruit snacks. Because Hello Kitty fruit snacks. ;)

I recalculated after every 2lbs or so. 10cals less every so often was a lot easier to get used to. I kind of panicked when I first started ("OMG 1560 instead of 1580 I'm going to STARVE"), but it wasn't really that bad. :p Also, once you get closer to your goal you decrease your weekly loss (1lb/week instead of 2; or .5…

Worked great for me. Started at sedentary (which I keep it at) with a 2lb loss as I had about 35 to lose. Made sure to recalculate every couple of lbs. Once I got about halfway to goal I changed to 1lb loss then .5lb and now I'm at maintenance. I keep it at .5lb loss just because I have a tendency to eyeball, but yeah.…

This. Moderation is a beautiful thing. If you go in with the mindset of "cheating" you're doing yourself a disservice.

Five months is plenty of time to lose weight for a dress that "almost didn't zip". Just set your stuff up accurately (like being honest with your activity level, a lot of people screw themselves with that) and log everything. Don't sweat it. You can do it!
-
I'd say not really because while it was accurate for my current weight (which I'm happy at) I put in my high school weight as my "goal" and I looked way more emaciated at that weight. To think I thought I was fat... >_>
-
My stupid thighs. Even when I was a kid (before I started worrying about what I look like) I hated my thighs. My mom would make me wear courderoy pants and I HATED them. >_< Anyway, I don't care if I have a "gap" or not, I just really hate that the top 3" of my thighs are SO much fatter than the rest. I can't wear shorts…

When we go out for fast food I either order a smaller version of what I used to eat (5 mcnuggets instead of 20) or split something with my hubby (like the taco bell boxes which have plenty of food for the both of us). I eat a "normal serving size" of candy instead of the whole freakin' box/bag. One or two cookies instead…

Well I'm a little freaked out now. lol I wish I hadn't clicked cuz it's still there! O_O
-
I guess I'm lucky in that I really do not like any of the current food personalities (except Alton Brown) so I don't watch any cooking shows anymore. Back in the day, though? Biba and the Galloping Gourmet were my weaknesses. I had my mom tape them while I was at school so I could write down the recipes when I got home. ;)

My So-Called Life and Daria. Yeah, I was totally one of those girls. lol
-
Hubby hates it, but him and my ex are actually a bit alike. Just that my ex was very controlling and disapproving and insecure. Don't tell me I can't do something; I can make that decision for myself.
-
Moderation. For sure. It keeps me from binge eating and I've learned how much I can eat of foods I love. Cookies, candy, pizza, fried chicken.... *drools*
-
Nope. I eat what I want, when I want. Just moderately and within my calorie goals. I've been under all week and had almost 300cals left today so I'm gonna have ice-cream. Thinking of it as cheating would just be unfair to the ice-cream.
-
Is there anything you've cut out of your diet that perhaps you're craving? Also, I get this way once a month or so before my period. Chocolate helps. lol
-
Generally two, sometimes three, sometimes one. Depends entirely on how the day plays out and whether or not we're having pizza for suppper or a buffet lunch. lol
-
People are generally surprised when they find out how much I weigh because it's more than they would have guessed given my size/composition. Don't be insecure! Like newmeadow said, it's a blessing! I used to be insecure about my weight (5'6" and 135 in high school) and tried to get down to 120 (for some reason that was the…

I get what you're saying. I don't always hit my goal either, but I don't go out of my way to make up for the "excess". Just leave it as what it is. As you lose weight your goal is going to get lower anyway. If you happen to go over a bit on Sunday, at least you know you have the wiggle room, but there's no reason to make…
