  • I have a cup of coffee and every now and then I'll grab a package of cinnamon donuts from the gas station. Unless my mom grabs a strawberry danish for me at the German bakery. *drools* Then that's breakfast.
  • I don't need a gun to my head to eat fast food. Any place you go has options that will fit into your calorie goals and most places nowadays have the calorie counts (and in some cases other nutrition information) displayed right on the menu or on a poster or pamphlet - or on their website if you have a chance to research…
  • I only drink on Monday nights and I keep a post-it on my desktop with the amount I drank and the calories (ex: 48oz @ 25cals/oz) and then I just plug them in when I have extra cals throughout the week. I also do this with extra snacks I may have that don't exactly fit into the day I have them.
  • This. That sticker says "Balance" and that's the most sound advice ever, regardless of their motivation. Moderation in all things. Calories in vs calories out for weight loss, and no - it doesn't matter where those calories come from. Also this. Example: my mom never drinks soda is overweight and got the diabetes; my dad…
  • Not been a problem for me. Most places have the calorie counts on their websites and after a while you learn what to order and how to make it fit into your day/week. Can totally lose weight and have a social life. It's quite liberating and empowering. Sure there's a chance what you actually eat will be a little more or…
  • I also didn't tell anybody I was trying (because that's always a sure way to sabotage myself) until I was 4/5 of the way to my goal then I shared my little "only 10lbs to go" victory with a few people. Frankly, I love MFP. First: it's free. Second: I did, in fact, lose 45lbs while still eating candy, cupcakes and fast food…
  • 5'6" mediumish frame, bit heavy on top. My initial goal was 150 (started at 185), now I'm working closer to 142 (currently 146). As long as I stay between 140-150 I'm happy, though.
  • Just had to buy new jeans because my former "skinny" jeans were falling off! sidenote: I tried on a pair of skinny-cut jeans while I was there for kicks and omg never ever lol Definitely a boot-cut girl.
  • I have that happen every now and then. The part that worries me is (as far as I know, never having met these people) they're generally older or have medical conditions and I'm sitting here with absolutely no idea if they got busy or sick or dead or what. :/ As an army brat I've grown up to take my "penpal"ing very…
  • Good luck!! :) It's not always easy (and almost never fun), but totally worth it and YOU CAN DO IT!! <3
  • *raises hand* I started out with about 35lbs to lose, going from 185 to my goal of 150. I did bike at first to give myself more calories, but that tapered off because I'm lazy. I currently weigh 144lbs (6lbs under my original goal) and the last 20lbs or so were all from following MFP's recommendations with little to no…
  • The first time was gradual, I didn't even notice. I barely ate through high school but my husband was dead-set on feeding me and never batted an eye as I grew. The second time was a lot of emotional binge eating. I'm determined to stay on track this time... *fingers crossed* it sticks.
  • My friend's 100 Baby Sims challenge videos on youtube
  • Way to go Taco Bell! I go there about once a week for lunch. lol Love Taco Bell.
  • I don't get sick often, and when I do I get SICK. People are lucky if they can get me out of bed, let alone pretend to function. If it's just a sick-feeling haze and I think movement will help me kick it then I'll try and get on the bike; otherwise I just rest and let my body take care of itself.
  • Crystal Pepsi!! :'( Locally I'd like it if my grocery store would stock the *good* Hungry Man dinners again. Soft tacos and cheese fries, beer batter chicken and cheese fries... Last I checked they were still on the HM website, but somebody here must hate them or something...
  • OMG what?! Well that sucks... One of the few things I was looking forward to. I'm currently in maintenance; still upping cals to figure out what that means for me, so the week prior I "stall" (I get downright ravenous and tend to go over goal a little) and then see bits of loss during and after.
  • +1 I've done the same thing on occasion and it feels like a worse setback than it actually is. Just keep on going and it will work itself out. <3
  • At 181lbs you could probably eat more than 1240 and still lose. I'm at 147 and can lose at 1500 (I'm sedentary). Also: cardio. It's your friend. So is forgiveness and learning. Now you know how many cals that breakfast costs and can do better next time.
  • No problemo. :) Yeah, it definitely helps to relax without other people around. lol
  • Mine's open. Knock yourself out. ;)
  • I don't see any love handles.... also, my husband just walked behind me and thinks you look great. lol

  • If you can find it I absolutely love YogaZone Yoga for Beginners dvd. It's only about an hour, but he gives 4 different difficulty levels for each pose and manages to be both relaxing and motivating. I sit on my butt all day and avoided P.E like the plague ALL through school and even I can do it. ;) It doesn't matter if…
  • I don't know if it still exists, but there used to be a place in Austin that's clothing-optional.... Here it is! http://hippiehollow.com/
  • MFP! lol It all boils down to the math. If I want a cookie, I have a cookie, log the cookie and make sure to pay attention to what I'm eating the rest of the day. Sometimes pre-logging helps to see where I'm standing and how much of this or that I can have with dinner. Also ignoring my husband when he says counting…
  • Your mom is your mom and of course she's going to worry, especially with your sister and all. If she lives nearby a good way to keep her off your back would be to just go out to dinner with her sometime. Show her that you ARE eating. "But I don't feel like I would be able to maintain without counting, because if I let…
  • I made it to my goal (38lbs lost) without weighing my food. I baked a lot as a kid so I can eyeball with decent enough accuracy. Some people suck at eyeballing and should weigh. For me, personally, I feel like if I start to weigh my food it will take me to a neurotic level that I don't want to be at when it comes to my…
  • Me, too!! LOL Except on days where I wake up hungry and HAVE to eat. If I don't wake up hungry I just save those cals for lunch. ;) (or candy)
