  • Good LUCK! And ditto.
  • Five pounds in two months isn't bad. It is a little over 1/2 lb per week, right? If you want to lose more you will need to increase your bodies energy expenditure. My daughter bought me an UP bracelet for Christmas. Wearing it has made me acutely aware of how much more I needed to move. At the end of a busy day I would…
  • February saw no loss or gain so I think a daily accountability will help me stay on task. Just for today 3/7 I will: Make good choices at the birthday dinner (one pc of cake is sufficient) Get my 10000 steps in (or walk until calorie deficit is achieved)
  • I am a nonbreakfast eater. For years it made me sick to eat it. My mom allowed me to eat whatever sounded good, however my stepmom tried her best to provide me with "good breakfast food" which left me wanting to puke. I enjoy yogurt for breakfast. Greek yogurt packs a high protein content. You can eat it with berries or…

  • Work days do provide an additional struggle. My daughter gave me a UP24 for Christmas. It is striking the step difference for days at work vs home. Love your goal of the shameless doctor weigh in. That is one of mine as well! I remember how that felt and cant wait to get there, too!

  • I experienced menopause "suddenly". I'm 46 and swear becoming a grandma 2 1/2 years ago literally "triggered" menopause. I was extremely lethargic at first but am lucky enough to have found the energy I need through exercise. I still struggle with sleep issues from time to time but notice that I have gotten used to the…
  • Just under 5'4". 46 years old. Weighed in at doctor's office last week at 157.8, fully dressed, wearing boots. Goal weight in my head is 130 to 135, but I am not sure if I will push that far. I want back into my size 6, whatever weight that lands me at. I'll re-evaluate at that time. I lift 3 times a week, so in the end it…
  • I'm 46 and working on getting healthy and fit. This is my first time to put the effort in at counting calories. In the past, I just followed a particular diet and worked out religiously. I am surprised at how well counting calories really works!! Who knew?! I lift weights in my home, doing what is supposed to be a 20…
  • Your final statement "I'm too far gone" resonates with me. It isn't the idea of losing weight that is so daunting, it is that you are looking at where you were and feeling like you've wasted it all. Drop that right now. That is my best advice to you. You cannot look back, unless it is an encouragement to know you have done…
  • I am 5' 3-3/4". I usually claim the last 1/4" inch, but my hubby likes to remind me I'm not quite that tall. I've been up and down the weight rollercoaster since my teens. Never really heavy, but always watching that scale. I battled to lose weight after my second child was born, coming home from the hospital at almost 190…
  • I hadn't considered that. I don't eat back calories. I am just happy to have a way to track what I'm doing so I can notate what is working and what isn't. It would definitely make a difference if you were going to eat back the calories you burned.
  • I don't know if it is appropriate, but I just add "circuit training" to the cardio in order to show calories burned. It may not be accurate, but it at least it shows something. Ultimately, it doesn't matter what it shows, as long as you are doing it, though.
