Check this one out... YouTube form Video

The class wasn't too long, but they did a video of us running and critiqued our form. They went over body position, foot fall, cadence, type of shoes, etc.... it was worth the trip, but I only had a 1 hr drive! You can probably learn all the same stuff on the internet via websites and youtube, but it's nice having someone…

I went to a Good Form Running clinic put on by my local running store. It was free and I got A LOT out of it. Definitely changed my form and saved me a lot of foot and knee pain! Mine was put on by Daves Running but if you go to the Good Form Running website, they have info there and you can also locate a clinic…

Added you back! Awesome!

I am a little late on the reply. I just found a site that I love. It has brilliant metrics and comparison data. It has badges for your achievements, ranking among runners and, better yet, you can SEE your improvement over time. The site is brilliant. No, I don't work for the company. It is smashrun.com/jim.brasic/refer.…

I think it is well written and has the whole 'epic' feel to it. I like that the main characters aren't so willing to be the ones to save the world. If someone came to me and told me I was a chosen one and would save the world, I don't think I would pack up and head off, I would think they were nuts. That is more of the…

LOL! Nynaeve!

I wish ALL of them! I love that genre!

A near future, where humans have been defeated by the viral parasites named Gastrea. The Gastrea aren't microscopic, they are enormous. Humans have been exiled into a small territory and live in despair, side-by-side in terror. In this world trapped in darkness— Rentaro, a young man living near Tokyo and member of the…

I played the demo of Bravely Default. It was kind of confusing. There isn't much in the way of tutorial. It's got GREAT reviews so I guess once you get it, it's awesome. I ended up going with Fire Emblem: The Awakening. Same idea and very fun! Pull the trigger. Get a 3DS! Hey, if you need more incentive, they have a step…

Smash Bros for 3DS! The only way I ever beat my children! ;)

Thanks! I am getting great ideas for new anime!! Just heard they are going to do a Live Action adaptation of Death Note. That should be interesting. Right now my tops are.... Sword Art Online II (Story 9/10 Art 7/10) Black Bullet (Story 7/10 Art 9/10) Attack on Titan (Story 10/10 Art 9/10) All of those fall in the must…

I am on Book 5 in The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I think I need to take a break before going on to 6-12. The names and places keep popping up in my head.

I'll second that!! WONDERFUL books!

I like the books but I LOVE the audiobooks! I drive a lot for work. The audiobooks are excellently read by James Marsters, who you will remember as Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If you ever have occasion to pick up an audiobook, I can't recommend enough the combo or Harry Dresden read by Spike!!

I did the same thing with the audio version of "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline. Awesome carrot! I was doing extra miles daily just to listen to more!

It makes me laugh that I am not the only one with John Williams on my ipod!

So, I looked around and I can rent snowshoes in the area, but not "running" snowshoes. No big deal. For this winter, I'll walk! I am looking at some trail shoes and more base layers. I actually don't have more than one good base layer shirt. I just pile on a LOT of layers. Thanks for the great advice.
-
Damn you practical people! Your right. I guess I will go with some more needed cold weather gear. I already have a 110 that works so I am going to go with some coldgear or something like that. I need a couple more base layer tops and bottoms. If we get a wicked snow fall winter, I will be sad! Thanks everyone for the…

I am sure you'll do great! That going through the course prior to was awesome. I hope you learn from my mistakes!! Make sure to let us know how it goes. And I can't recommend highly enough having someone video for you! I didn't think it would matter to me but I keep watching that stupid video thinking, "Holy…

My saving grace was form. Concentrate on form. Don't worry about speed or anything else. Form... and where your going. That helped edge out the panic!
-
Thanks! That means a lot coming from you. I have read all your race reports from your tri's and it's really helped me mentally prepare for this! I owe you a lot of thanks! You keep it up, too and keep up the writing. Jim

Hopefully you won't go out too fast and panic on the swim! Good luck! When in Sept?
-
Good to meet you too, Kerry! I bet you'll have fun with the app! Well, I bet it will be more fun than running without it! Did you get the app and start?
-
Nothing wrong with slow paced! I listen to DC4C a lot when I work out.

I haven't heard of some of those tracks! I'll check them out!

Awesome post. This should be sticky.
