hi, I peeked at your diary. Your protein levels can get really low- you need to eat more. I'm 5"5 and I'm aiming for 100, and average about 80. You may also need more water- I get dizzy after exercise if I do not have enough.

I tried to run using the walk/run method and it didn't get better. My sister told me not to worry about speed, just pick a landmark like a tree and get there slowly. It looked impossible, but I did get there. I then extended the distances. Slow will get you there for distance- you will breathe so much better. Then the…

I recently purchased a Garmin and the laps went from somewhere like 5 at the start, to about 7 at the end! definitely not the plan!! I'm hoping to average at 6/km . Congratulations for your half marathon- the distance looks huge! And thanks guys, for the core reminder. have been slacking off on them.

thanks for your advice, guys :)- it was a truly horrible run yesterday when I went out too fast (for me) toO soon!

I believe that there is a set point, but it can be adjusted (its a bugger though to do) by changing routines.

you can add me if you'd like. I think I got defriended recently for being too blunt about a too low intake, so I guess you are prewarned.

bump-anyone??

I'm a bit worried about your tenditinis (sp?) but I think you should look at the 5K as a completion exercise, rather than a speed exercise. Slow and steady will get you to the end, and pushing it, with an injury, is going to put you out longer. Finish it, heal your body and take pride in your achievement.

I am finding maintaining exercise mojo easier by setting fitness goals and by increasing my level of normal movement, which is not gym related- do something outside, do it together (ie a walk after dinner/lifting together) Love your wedding shot.

go girl!!!

You are not alone. It happens to all of us. You are taking control! I am simplifying and taking it one meal at a time, by trying to make sure there is protein in every meal and upping my vegies. I think it works, as each meal is an achievement!
