Sorry you're dealing with this. Am I wrong; it sounds like there's more to the story than just your weight. Is he the kind of man who would find something else 'wrong' if you suddenly dropped 85lbs?
-
Thank you! You too!!

It's quite buttery, but sweet and very smooth. Not at all like frosting, more like the highest fat % yogurt you've ever had. Delicious!
-
It does. Thanks! I saw a sign once for a computer company which specialised in "Computer repairs for those 55 or better". I liked that a lot.
-
Ooh, nice. What are you going to do?
-
Did we not have a conversation about that a few hundred pages back? Maybe when you were on vacation. It's sent from the heavens and looks like this:
-
If I throw it hard enough, will it get to you?
-
Great! Enjoy it. I've just eaten two warm scones with my homemade clotted cream (recipe in Batcave - too good to not share!) and strawberry jam, and that's also given me a rather nice sense of well-being. Have a great weekend!
-
Same here. I just love food and cooking. I just made scones to go with my homemade clotted cream and strawberry jam. I ate two and logged them - that's lunch. In the old days I would have had that, plus lunch and dinner, and some other snacks too.

My sister was always very pear-shaped. One day an older man stopped her on the street and said "Madam, you have glorious buttocks!" and went on his way (imagine in posh English accent). She couldn't decide whether to be offended or flattered.

More condolences from me. It sounds like she lived well, and 89 is certainly a good long life. Is your grandfather still around?
-
Thank you so much for asking - I just sat down to catch up! It's hard to tell how it went - he's not very good at talking things like that through. He had to do a math and English test, because as I think I mentioned before, although it's entry level, it's a 'proper' job (not a McJob). He would have done well on the…

Haha! You're so right - I've thought the same. Maybe a lot of turnips and potatoes, if one had a root cellar..?
-
Phew! Thanks!
-
She's really making progress - that's awesome!

Yay! My own mum was a young mum. She was married at 17, had my sister at 19 and me at 23. I liked having young parents.
-
Oh, well, I'm 47 which probably sounds ancient to you young'uns. I promise it comes around surprisingly quickly. I certainly don't feel old, but I guess the driver's licence says otherwise.
-
Yes! It makes my husband especially happy, because his older brother wasn't the best. Even now, at 53, he's utterly self-absorbed (and single, quelle surprise!), so to see our boys wanting to do things together gives him warm fuzzies.
-
I made strawberry jam the other day, and now have my attempt at clotted cream in the slow cooker. If it works, I shall be baking scones tomorrow. I think I need an intervention.

Wonderful! My own sister is 4 years older than me, and was pretty cool. I remember being put on a bus to go and visit her when she was away at university and it was pretty amazing for a 14 year-old. She would also take me on shopping trips to London and to other things that I wouldn't have been allowed to do without her.…

Sons updates! Son #1 has a job interview tomorrow. Please send him positive vibes. It actually sounds like a nice little first job. I hope so much he can present himself well. Son #2 I took him to the doctor to get antibiotics for his raging ingrown toenail infection. He has a podiatrist appointment next week to get it…

Am I that old?! Can't I be your cool older sister who moved out when you were 7 and comes home to take you out for amazing outings and then disappears back to her glamourous grown-up life?

You have to weigh them separately, which is why ants are one of the few negative value foods. The energy required to wrangle the ants on the scale is more than the ants provide, nutritionally. ;)

Us too! When my husband finally got around to sorting out his Scotiabank Scene points (points for spending on his card) he had about 28 free movies. We've gradually been spending them over the past couple of years!
-
Yes! I really hope there is good outcome, or at least better than it sounds at the moment.
-
Yeah, that sounds good. We have not only a glass panel in our front door, but two full-length windows either side of it. VERY hard to not answer the door when people can see you sitting there. I have actually hidden before, when I haven't wanted to talk to a salesperson or to the JWs. The sight of a couple of mormon…

Welcome back! I'm so glad your trip was everything you'd hoped for.
-
Haha! Yeah, Russell Crowe. Haha!
-
I love that!!

Aw, you're all so sweet. Thank you, and anyone else who wants to give me a giant kick in the pants. The next couple of weeks belong to other people - I need to (want to) be running my sister around, helping #1 son find a job, getting #2 son through his Learner's test and started at high school, getting my daughter's health…
