Ok, interesting. I haven't heard of that. Do you also make sweet butter for bread?
-
I also use the Instant Pot method which is SO easy. I strain through a colander lined with a muslin cloth left from when my kids were babies. I strain overnight on the counter, for a super-thick yogurt which peels off the cloth easily. It's cream cheese really - Middle Eastern Labneh. Really delicious with a little bit of…

Sorry, but I think you're doing it wrong. When I make butter it is very mild-tasting. Are you rinsing all the whey out thoroughly? If not, that can cause it to go off fairly quickly.
-
I'm up too. Cup of warm milk for me. :)
-
Me too. Look at the temperatures we had in Calgary this week. Not a problem keeping butter cold! ;)

Lay off the soda and salty foods for a couple of days and wear something fabulous that fits well, rather than squeezing into something too small.
-
That makes no sense to me. Shouldn't it reduce the number of reps, rather than increase with age?! It's inhumane!

This sounds a lot like my Christmas. I LOVE IT ALL!!!

What?! No. My family, if I tried to pull that:

Smooth Move (senna tea) if you're bloated due to constipation. Stay near a toilet!

I've recently started making Harira, which is a Moroccan soup with lentils and chickpeas. It's fresh and mildly spiced and tastes super-healthy to me. If I believed in detoxes, this would be my detox soup :) It's not that hard to make, but does take time. I make a big batch and freeze it in individual containers. I love…

This is a good idea. Sometimes it's easier hearing something unpleasant from someone else. My other son refused to shower unless we nagged him for days, and then overnight he changed to a kid who showered and wore fresh clothes every morning. I of course noticed and asked why he suddenly changed, and he said that a girl at…

It's tricky. I also have a 16 year old son who's getting a bit podgy. I actually don't know how much he weighs, but he doesn't look very overweight, just very 'soft'. He has a really sweet tooth, so like Quik I've spoken to him about nutrition and eating enough protein, and made sure there's always plenty of fruit in the…

I definitely am. I accidentally ate a Terry's chocolate orange for lunch. :#

Second vote for symphysis pubis dysfunction. I had it with my last pregnancy, and it was miserable. Even now my youngest child is 16, I still can't shove anything heavy to the side with my foot. http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/symptoms-and-solutions/symphysis-pubis-dysfunction

Just saw this on my Facebook page. Decorated apple pops. Kids would LOVE these: http://www.delish.com/cooking/videos/a49257/how-to-make-apple-pops-video/

I would be wary about making anything with nuts. Lots of schools are nut-free.

Bags of caramel corn. Chocolate-dipped Oreos/marshmallows - on sticks. Kids love ANYTHING on a stick. Decorated pretzels. Cello bags and curling ribbon are pretty cheap.

Yes, good point. Don't let it dry. Fill with hot soapy water in the sink if you're not going to clean it immediately.
-
We have a Blendtec and you can definitely clean it like that.
-
Ooh that sounds good!

I prefer to cook on the faster setting if that's an option, because to me things get a funny taste when they've been cooked too long.
-
I do this with my tea, too. I just copy it day to day. I actually have a recipe for my tea and that's what gets added. Sometimes I'll increase or decrease the number of servings, depending on how wild I'm feeling on a particular day.

Poached carrots?
-
Well now I want one of those, too. :)
-
I am also easily swayed and very tempted.

I didn't say I was svelte, just that I feel it after being fat for a long time. I certainly thought I was fat when I hit 140 on the way up, but it looks a lot better on the way down!
-
Log it and move on.

5'5" 49 years old SW: 185 CW: 143 GW: 135 I'm quite surprised at how low some of the goal weights are, to be honest. Maybe it's an age thing. I was a tiny little thing until my early 20s when it all went wrong ;) After years of being plus sized, I now feel pretty svelte at around 140 and size 8-10. It's all relative.

I love homemade stock but don't like the smell in the house. How do you all deal with that?
