  • This. I'm a teacher, and I see it EVERY DAY. I have to waste my class time teaching teenagers basic manners and respectful behavior. It's depressing.
  • I'm eating one right now actually. Baked, sliced open, stuffed with 2 tbsp salsa, 1/4 c black beans, 1/2 avocado. SO DELICIOUS. perfect for a filling lunch.
  • While it may well be issues that you personally need to deal with that's causing this, I'm going to <GASP> criticize MFP a little here and agree with you a bit. This site reallllyyyyyy helps me be accountable, and I appreciate that a lot. It helps me organize my new lifestyle, and I love that. But all of this chatter on…
  • You will get through this, girl. You're doing the right thing by asking for help. My only other suggestion is to consider seeing a therapist in addition to a dietician or Dr. Speaking from personal experience...often times issues with food or under eating/overeating have emotional and mental roots that go way deeper than…
  • Since I stopped using "regular" peanut butter, I've been looking for a yummy, cheap alternative. Trader Joe's raw creamy almond butter is GREAT. Just almonds on the ingredients list. And very affordable. They have great cheeses, too. The Chèvre is my fav. I also buy chicken breast and fresh fish there.
  • I'm a middle and high school music teacher. I don't have my own room, so in addition to teaching I'm also walking to another part of the building every 40 minutes. I always wonder if I'm clocking some mileage throughout the day. Thanks to everybody's posts, my thoughts are validated!
  • The gay ones, too?! Weird...
  • GIRRRRRRRRL you have no idea. This is my lifelong struggle. Food addiction is such a real thing. I'm still working on this myself so I don't have any answers....but you're definitely not alone!
  • I love men too....probably more than women haha. And I love my feminist guy friends and boyfriend. I didn't mean to offend, I apologize if I came off as rude. I just meant that I saw the "feminist's" pov as valid and that we should just try to understand where she's coming from. I don't want us to just write her off as a…
  • Feminism is not a bad word. And she does have a valid point, if you understand what privileged western white cis female means. Try not to close your mind to it. And don't be afraid to break out of that little world and look around every now and then.
  • you just made me literally laugh out loud with this.
  • Still works on me!
  • I'm not married and don't have kids, so I am not going to criticize this harshly. I have a mom and a dad who are together 30 years, so I can see it from an outside looking in. BUT I do have to agree with some of the women here who are criticizing it for being sexist. It does have a tinge of that to it. After I read it, I…
  • I'm sick of hearing about all of these "supplements". Whatever happened to eating clean and healthfully, exercising regularly, and letting your body become what nature intended it to be? I wouldn't touch these drugs with a ten foot pole. To me, it's the same thing as eating processed foods.
  • I definitely had that "lightbulb moment" just a month and a half ago. It was the first time in my life that a doctor had mentioned something to me about my weight from a health perspective. When I got home, I realized this could actually kill me. It was no longer about a size, or a bikini, or a wedding, or looking "hot"…
  • http://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/04/skinny-red-wine-tomato-vinaigrette.html This is my FAV. love it so much. And sooooo easy to make.
  • *CONSISTENTLY...sorry, grammar and spelling are my pet peeves.
  • I do appreciate the IIFYM philosophy. And honestly, it really helps knowing that it's okay to have some flexibility in what you are eating, as long as you keep your calories and other macros in check. HOWEVER...I think there is some danger. I fear that people will think "Okay, I'm going to eat all the junk and fast food I…
  • Oh, forget it, hot dogs are the WORST. I used to eat fast food every now and then, but then I cut processed foods out of my diet. After a couple months of no processed food, I ate at Taco Bell with some friends and felt sooooooooo sick afterwards. On top of that, on the rare occassion that I eat red meat of any kind now, I…
  • I love Canada. I wish I was one of you. First of all, I purposefully dip my potato chips in ketchup. And poutine?!? CMON. It doesn't really get any better than poutine.

  • I have the following every weekday for breakfast...and its great bc you can make it the night before: 1/2 c rolled oats (just plain, no sugar added) 1 c unsweetened almond milk 1 TBSP each of ground flaxseed, chia seeds, unsweetened cocoa powder, and sliced almonds 1 cut up and slightly mashed banana a few drops of organic…
  • No problem :) I'm looking through some of the recipes she gave me right now...lots of nuts, seeds (roasted sunflower seeds are SO YUMMY on salads), avocados, salmon and other higher fat fishes, different kinds of whole grains like quinoa and bulgur are higher in cals but oh so healthy and good for you. I've found that…
  • I just recently went to see a nutritionist, and she changed my mind completely about "fat free" or "lowfat" dairy and other misc. foods. For the past week, I've not only changed to full fat versions of those foods (in moderation of course), but I've also included more nutritionally dense foods such as rolled oats for bfast…
  • My thoughts exactly. This very well could have been, along with many other violent tragedies, done in the name of God. What this world needs is LOVE.
  • I totally relate to this...almost exactly. It's awesome to have a partner who will rub your tummy and tell you how sexy you are. But at the same time...it can hurt you as well. I got to the point where I didn't even notice my rising weight bc my boyfriend was always telling me how beautiful I was. Now, he's totally…
  • Honey, you are sounding just like me about 5 years ago when I was dating an @ss****. I was CONSTANTLY making excuses for his behavior in hopes that he would change bc I didn't want to be alone. But what I've learned is that 1) being alone is not a bad thing...it actually helps you grow into a more confident person...and 2)…
  • DO YOU PEE PROFESSIONALLY? I wish I could drink this much water .....I'd be in the bathroom all day long.
