Don't follow a diet. I cook everything I eat. Stick to the daily allowances from FitnessPal because you could be eating more sugar/carbs than you think. Find foods you like and stick to those. Different foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, BUT keep the meals same everyday.

I eat the small fish. Hake is good. Take a look around the internet to see which ones are on the market. The smaller the fish, the lower the merc level. Big fish like tuna and shark have a lot of merc build up because they eat a lot of the smaller fish and live longer.

No. You will need the small amount of energy through the night. You don't want to eat dinner late on a normal basis, but something like an apple or yogurt should be fine. If you can, try cottage cheese with fruit sauce instead of yogurt. Has less plain sugar and has some protein.
