I, too, would love to know your routine.

I'm thinking about trying it. I just finished Insanity though and I'm worried that 30 Day Shred will not be enough of a challenge for me. I am willing to start out with you though. When are you starting? How about Monday?
-
I have already completed Insanity at the end of May (lost 14lbs and 20 total inches) and I have been doing a hybrid of half marathon training and the Insanity max workouts. Would 30 Day Shred be going backwards for me then? Would if be too easy? Thanks for all of your input. I appreciate it!

Do any of you know how it compares to Insanity?
-
I found the videos on YouTube. I'm not sure what workout to do when though. I found the level 1 and level 2 workout. I also found a schedule but it seems to have the workouts labeled by the day (ex. day1). Could you give me any insight? Thanks.

After reading about strong lift 5x5, it sounds like something I would be interested in. However, I do not have a chin up/pull up bar. Do to know of an alternative move that could be substituted?
-
That is what I was thinking and that is why I asked. I just get bored doin he same cardio every day or following a strict schedule. As far as weight lifting goes, any suggestions?
-
Thanks for the recommendation! I will have to check it out. Has anyone else used this program? Any input?
-
Don't skip it. Even if you don't think you need the physical break, the mental break is refreshing. (I finished Insanity the end of May.)
-
Definitely the Ninja for both quality and price.

<3 this ^^

I add it to: -a chopped apple and then microwave for 2 min until soft=apple crisp. -blueberries and then microwave=blueberry pie -sweet potatoes=candied sweet potatoes -oatmeal -water with a few slices of apple

For some reason, I love this paragraph: Getting smug satisfaction from the strength that it takes to eat healthy, especially while those around you eat garbage. This is especially fun while dining out with friends. Honestly I used to hate this part (as most healthy eaters do), but a small part of me kind of enjoys it…

You would be better off with an apple.

Commenting to follow thread as I am in the same situation.

Not a bad idea

I will be bringing healthy snacks to keep me on the right track. I have a mental list going as to what I want to bring. I also plan on bringing my huge water bottle to keep my water intake up. Thanks for your suggestions!

I really appreciate your response. My hubby is supportive, although he doesn't eat the healthiest all the time. He would have no problem with me ordering a salad or going somewhere else all together. I do feel like I have such a good healthy streak going that I don't want to disrupt it. I plan on eating healthy forever so…

I agree. The thought of eating chips or candy actually makes me feel sick. The thought of the grease and fat and unhealthy ingredients makes the food unappealing to me and easy to turn down. I am going to pack healthy snacks for the road so I always have those to fall back on.
-
I love veggies and fruits so I know that I will be satisfied it I order them instead of other unhealthy options, but I just need to make myself order them. :) I plan on exercising too. I already called ahead to see what type of exercise equipment the hotel has and what time the gym is open).
-
Yes, I totally agree. I was just telling my husband how it is no wonder that we (as Americans) have such a high obesity rate and are so unhealthy. It is actually amazing that more people aren't overweight with how most people eat (and don't exercise).
-
Thanks for your response! I actually met my weight goal and am happy where I am. But I am viewing my new lifestyle as a lifestyle and want to continue fueling my body so that I can look and feel my best. It just kind of gets to me when I think that if I want to be this healthy always that I will *never* be able to eat…

http://www.happysimpleliving.com/2011/03/06/make-your-own-homemade-greek-yogurt/ I made mine exactly like the above instructions. I store it is a covered plastic container. I did not add salt/sugar.
-
Oooohhh...I love broccoli too. Steamed with garlic powder or lemon pepper.
-
I just made Greek yogurt for the first time and it turned out awesome! I made it in the oven though and I used no special equipment. I just used a bowl, a pan, a digital thermometer, coffee filters and a collandar (strainer). I used 1/2 gallon skim milk and 2.5 TBS store bought yogurt for my bacteria.
-
If I had to pick just one veggie, I would have to say colored peppers. You can add them to just about anything for added flavor and they are low in calories. I just had them tonight on a wrap pizza.

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate it. I have been eating healthy for about 3 months now and I haven't had a headache or felt sick to my stomach at all. So I'm thinking the two might be connected. Either way I think I'll stay away from the carbonated water anyway as it is not healthy for me.
-
The yogurt worked. Any idea how to calculate calories? Would I just divide the number of servings by the total number of calories in the milk I put in it?
-
I'm in the process of making it now. I'll let you know how it turns out.
