  • I started doing crunches but I only come off the floor to get shoulders off, not a full sit up. The other ting I do is lay on my back and bring both legs straight into the air. I can feel this in the lower stomach muscles so to should help.
  • If you are in perimenopause and having night sweats, accg to Lorna Vanderhaeghe (women's health specialist) it is your thyroid. I take her thyrosmart supplements for that reason and the help. I take 3 a day. Just because your thyroid number is 'normal' many alternative health practitioners believe it should be below…
  • I use MMW to calculate speed, time and distance. I let it sync with MFP, and the calories burned seem way to high. I take the info, (s, t ,d) and plug it in to get MFP calories burned and then delete the 'synced' amount from MMW
  • I find when I have a 'hungry' day...like I eat normal and half hr later I'm starving, it usually is a weightloss day!
  • what about trying pepperidge farms crackers. they come in a variety of flavours and they may satisfy the crunch. 90 cals for a serving (20 gms) I believe
  • Usually is I even lose 5 lbs it shows in my face. My cheekbones become more noticeable. I know someone once told me they could tell by looking at my chin..the jaw bone(chin area) was more defined.
  • |I have nothing to say that would be helpful other than to tell you I too have lost 4 lbs, gone up 3 lbs and then back down 2.5 in the past 4 weeks. I am getting frustrated too b/c I am exercising and logging everything. I guess for some of us 'it happens' but good for you to have a substantial loss over the past month…
  • I use Map My Walk as well and sometimes if I exercise later afternoon it will show it will sync soon or I can tap to sync now...that doesn't usually work....but by the next morning it is usually logged on to MFP. It is ok with me b.c I find the MMW calories is REALLY high so I use the info , (distance for my own…
  • HI you sound like you could almost be describing me. I am 45, married with a 14 yr old and 12 yr old twins. I am a stay at home Mom who walks the dog daily for my motivation/routine/exercise. I love walking the dog more than a gym! I drink coffee with cream as well. I try to limit coffee to 2 cups a day. A few times a week…
  • I have a recipe from vitality magazine (google it) called Harira~it's a soup type dish, I love it. It calls for chick peas, brown rice and brown lentils but I usually add in quinoa instead of the rice. It's spicy but I don't find it too hot....just yummy! I make up the whole thing as suggested but then freeze in individual…
  • You could google a group called Peertrainer. They are believers in the Joel Furhman way of eating. They have some neat recipes on there. One in particular is their 'Energy Soup" which is so much goodness in a bowl.
  • Good job! That is a HUGE accomplishment even if you think you are only half way there....you have changed SO much! I have 10 lbs to go before I reach my 'halfway' point (personal goal not a BMI goal). I am trying to lose 60 total and lost 25 lbs 2 yrs ago...been doing MFP for a 3 wks with good success( Had gained 5 lbs…
  • yogurt doesn't have enough probiotics to do much good. Buy a supplement.
  • I would agree with the above poster. Add in one more glass of water and take it with a probiotic. See if that helps to flush your system. With all the new amounts of fibre sometimes our body holds onto things a little differently at first.
  • We dated for 8 yrs, were engaged for 6 mos and been married 15 yrs. We were in a long distance relationship while dating so only saw each other every other weekend(or less) and decided not to live together beforehand. Anyway, 3 kids within 2 yrs (a set of twins there!) which is supposed to increase our odds of divorce, did…
  • I am a stay at home Mom and my husband works 60 + hrs /wk and 3 of those 12 hr shifts are nights which means he is sleeping during the day. I am not a gym person so I got a dog that requires exercise which in turn is my motivation. She throws her ball at me when she NEEDS the walk. Before the dog, I would make a point of…
  • I like a few almonds along with a banana,,not exactly low calorie but really satisfies and fills you up. This is my 'go to' afternoon snack quite often when the kids come home from school and start rummaging through the cupboards for carb snacks( my downfall)!
