Many congratulations

Don't give up. Don't think of it as a diet, think of it more as a lifestyle change, it's easier to accept like that. Remember the old saying, Rome wasn't built in a day...... :) It doesn't have to be expensive. Good luck.

I'm with you on this one, I've been plateau'd since October 2015 when I had an accident. I'm walking a couple of miles daily, eating 12-1300 calories, not eating back my exercise calories, but I haven't budged...... on a plus note though, I haven't gained...... but its so frustrating. I've tried changing my foods, upping…

Well done, photographs always tell the truth!
-
Well done, its a great feeling isn't it :)
-
I was 375lbs to start. I began gentle exercise right away, and was doing aqua fitness because its easier on the body but good for cardio. I had to give up the gym for financial reasons, but I still walk a couple of miles a day minimum. I've really only stuck with cardio all the way through.

Not bad for a 60 year old LOL, I just wish I was 20 years younger!

Thank you all. My pre-op assessment was spot-on so I'm now on the waiting list for my op. Could be anything up to a year wait but they're hoping to get me in within 6 months, so I'll post pics post-op eventually!

Not being recognised by my passport photo at Antalya passport control last week, the guy kept looking from my passport to me - in the end we managed to make him understand that I'd lost 162lbs so my appearance would have changed a bit LOL.... roll on 2 years time when I can renew it!
-
That's 161lbs lost just by calorie counting with a lot of walking!!!
-
well done, i'm close, and getting so excited too!
-
This is me, 157lbs lighter! Still a work in progress, I need to lose another 28lbs for surgery next year, but I am so close now!
-
Congrats!
-
The mind is the last part of you to accept the changes. Just take a look at my profile picture, I've lost 157lbs so far, yet I still see myself as the person on the left side, not the person jumping for joy on a trampoline because I can! Acceptance will come in time, just keep on doing what you're doing :)

Thankyou everyone! It certainly cheered me up, especially with the reason I was there for. Onwards and downwards, still 19lbs to my initial target of onderland and 28lbs before another planned surgery but I'm on a mission!
-
I've lost a newborn baby and the complete Oxford English Dictionary LOL
-
Wow, that's a great feeling!

I'm no expert but MFP advises that 1200 calories is the minimum daily. You've just had a baby so your body is making massive changes and you need to take this into consideration. Why not try upping your calories to 1200, or ensuring that you eat back your exercise calories? As I said, I'm no expert but I'm sure someone…

Yep, I've lost 154lbs and the first thing people ask is when I had gastric surgery... no-one believes I did it all on my own with just the help of MFP
-
Fantastic, you're looking great - that 100lb marker is a real achievement!
-
Well done! I've lost 144lbs but its taken a few years with a year gap for surgery in between, yet strangely, it's only been the last 21lbs loss where I've had the 'holy....!' comment from people! It just shows that when you put your mind to it, you CAN do it, so for those of you reading these stories who are just setting…

Keep up the excellent work, you'll get there, and be so proud of yourself!! I have another 35lbs to lose, then I'm at the weight my surgeon wants me to be for surgery. I started at 375lbs, I'm currently at 231lbs - it's not easy going and at times you will feel like giving up, but think of it as a lifestyle change, and not…

Mine is set at 1270 to lose 1½lbs a week. I'm generally just under that, although I do have days when I've gone over, and I'm losing a steady 2lbs a week. I've had to bump my speed up a bit as I'm waiting for surgery. I don't eat back my exercise calories now as I found they weren't accurate, and my loss was actually…

I just go in and 'complete' the diary for that day again, that normally brings it up on my report screen. I've found it mainly happens on my phone app.

Send her your love and best wishes x

Well done!
-
Thankyou!!!! :) :) :)

Maybe because you're coming out of your 'comfort' zone? Treat every day as a new beginning; forget about a bad day, what's done is done, and you can't change it so don't look back. I've been there, believe me. Good luck, and think happy thoughts!

Yep, guilty as charged..... I've dropped from a 34 into an 18ish, ten stones weight loss so far, yet I still head for the back of the rail in stores for the largest sizes. My brain doesn't want to accept what my eyes can see and it can be soooo frustrating, but I suppose in time it will come to accept the new me. As…

Thank you everyone..... the first photograph was the last one I'd let anyone take of me; I was so ashamed of it, but I then went on to gain another 3 stones :( .... I found that photograph when I was looking for some documents, tucked away in an envelope, and realised that if that's what I looked like then, what must I…
