Need to get back on track
I'm a long time member 10+ years. I lost over 13 stones. In the past few years I've had to care for my mum and then lost her to dementia, then the past 19 months have seen me lose my husband to covid, my home at the same time and then be diagnosed with breast cancer, for which active treatment is completed. The result? 8…

OMG OMG OMG !!!!!!
I hit ONEDERLAND this morning!!!!! 198lbs to be precise!!! I've lost 177lbs - 11 more and I will be exactly half the person I was at the beginning of this journey!!!!!!!!! All I need now is my surgery date for hernia repair and excess skin removal and I will be even more ecstatic!!!!!!

The weirdest thing about your weight loss?
I realised last night that I've been pushing my glasses back up my nose for the past few days - and now it's really bugging me LOL so I'm off to the opticians tomorrow to get the arms bent in a little so they stay in place - no fun when you wear varifocals!! My skirts are also too long now, I keep treading on the hem as I…

This is what 162lbs loss looks like...
I'm still a work in progress as I'm waiting for skin removal and hernia repair, but I have my pre-op assessment tomorrow and then I'm on the waiting list!!!!!! I'm just 13lbs away from Onederland, which was my target when I set out on this journey. The last few pounds are always the hardest!

Absolutely awesome NSV
For a laugh, I entered a makeover competition last week at our local shopping centre. There were 5 winners - I am one of them!!!!!! I don't get to keep anything unfortunately, but they got me new glasses with a prescription lens so I don't fall over on the day, and I'll have my hair, nails and make-up done. I actually fell…

6 month plateau
Yep SIX months of hell! I managed to lose just three pounds in weight, yet I dropped over TWO dress sizes. The frustration of seeing the same figure on the scales each week is agonising, and I know in the past I'd have given up, but as I'm waiting for surgery my BMI needs to drop 4 more points, and although I look so much…

Problems syncing exercise from Android to laptop
Has anyone else had this problem? If I enter exercise onto my Android app, it doesn't show up on my laptop, but if I enter it on my laptop then it does show on the Android app. I have a similar problem with MapMyWalk, it syncs to Facebook but doesn't sync to MFP. Very frustrating.

Two NSVs in one day!!
I had to go for a pre-op assessment the other day in advance of having a pacemaker fitted. I asked the nurse whether I'd be able to feel the pacemaker, and her response was 'yes, you have very little fat on your chest so you'll likely see and feel it' - I was shocked, as although I've lost lots of weight I still see myself…

What a difference 10 stones makes :)
I still see myself as the person on the left in my brain, and that was taken at about 3 stones from my heaviest weight - it's going to take a long, long time to click into place, but I am the person on the right now!!! I'm still a work in progress, so watch this space, but if my daughters hadn't shown me MyFitnessPal then…

4 more pounds to be somewhere I never could have dreamed
4 more pounds, and I will have lost TEN stones (140lbs) !!!!! That's something I never thought I'd see myself typing! 40 more pounds and I'll be in Onederland! Not bad for a 5'2" greatgrandmother who will be 60 in October! I'm not going to sit here and say it's been an easy ride, it's been a bumpy one at times, but at long…

The frustration and the joy, anyone else feel like this?
Oh, the frustration of losing weight and not knowing what size clothes to buy, especially online when you can't try them on and sizings differ by manufacturer! But the joy of buying two skirts online in different sizes because they were reduced from £27 to £8 each, wearing the bigger size for just two weeks then suddenly…

Thank you 120 times over, MyFitnessPal
Today I hit 120lbs loss. I could say I've done it on my own, but in honesty I couldn't have done it without the help of MyFitnessPal and the support of my family and friends. I've tried loads of diets in the past, but this method of recording intake and exercise has proven to be the one that works for me, so thank you from…

I've lost a third of me!
Finally, a third of me is gone! It's been a long journey with many pitfalls, and I still have a way to go - the target I set myself at the beginning was to lose 176lbs, which would take me back into 'onederland' - I'm now just 51lbs away from that moment, and I'm determined to do it by the end of this year!!! I'm useless…

A long awaited NSV
Having had a lot of success, the past year I've struggled a bit following surgery and two family bereavements. I'm currently just a few pounds up on my best loss so far (in the past I'd have given up totally , put it all back on and more), but yesterday, I did something that has spurred me on to get back on track 100%!…

Aagh need a rant to save my sanity!
Up until last September I'd lost 116lbs. Had surgery on my foot which hasn't solved the problem, so it's been a long time with no 'real' exercise. Had a couple of holidays, and I was pleased that I'd only gained 7lbs - in the past I'd have put all my weight back on and more by now, but I hit a plateau a couple of months…

How did you feel.........
..... the first time someone commented on your weight loss? It took a long time before anyone really noticed that I was losing weight, probably because I was very large to start with, and I know it may sound strange, but I felt embarrassed??!! Perhaps I felt that people were just being nice to me and it didn't really show,…

Yep, fell off the rails a bit bit so what?
Yes, I can honestly say I've had a rough few months which has resulted in a few pounds going back on. Surgery which didn't go to plan, suicide of a close relative and the aftermath, and the uncertainty of whether I'm still going to have a job in a few weeks time............... BUT - I'm still 104lbs less than I was, and…

116lbs gone forever......
I'm useless at uploading pictures, but I've changed my profile picture and wanted to share - it now shows me at my heaviest (375lbs) in the coral skirt, and my latest picture, taken at a family wedding yesterday, where I'm currently 259lbs. Still a work in progress, with a long way to go, but I don't cringe any more when I…

What's made you feel proud of yourself today?
I had surgery on my foot last week, and have been mainly sat on my backside since with my leg up in the air; I've hobbled about indoors on crutches, but if I've left the house Hubby has borrowed a wheelchair for me. I've really tried hard to stick to my diet but knew there wasn't going to be any loss this week, and in all…

What's your weakness??
What is the one food you really struggle to give up? Mine is icecream............

Slowly but surely I'm winning
I'm starting to win the battle! It's taken a long, long time for me to actually see the change in myself, but I can see it now. I can't post pictures on here, but my profile picture is one of me at my heaviest and a current one, taken when I did the Race for Life a few weeks back. I've had a bit of a slow-down the past…
-
Woohooooo I did good LOL
I took part in my 2nd Race for Life yesterday with two of my daughters and my 11yr old granddaughter. 2 years ago, and six stones heavier, I didn't take part in the Zumba warm-up session, but did manage to struggle round the 5k course in what, for me at the time, was a fairly respectable 78 minutes. Yesterday I did the…

Ugh....
I have had THE worst weekend binge since I started on MFP January 2011. BUT - I'm not going to let it wreck the hard work I've put in so far, so I'm going to put it behind me as an experience learnt that I didn't enjoy eating as I used to before I started my journey to a better, healthier lifestyle. As the old saying goes…

3 magic numbers....
1......0........0........... Yep, I hit the scales this morning and I've finally made a 100lb loss!!!!! I wish I'd had this determination 20 years ago, but I was too busy raising 4 children then to look after myself as well - still, better late than never, and I DO have 4 wonderful kids and a lovely hubby, who I…

Today I carried my grandson........
My 12 yr old grandson weighs the same as I've lost so far. Today, I carried him around on my back - and I could barely move for the weight....... my daughter took a photo, if I can get it onto photobucket or somewhere I'll try to add it later. It's really put into perspective just how far I've come, and also shocked me…

Totally massive NSV
 I've not had much luck in getting a job since I was laid off 2 years ago, and my weight suffered because I was so down. The typical vicious circle - no work, boredom, low self-esteem, comfort eating, weight gain...... I've had a couple of interviews but never felt comfortable because I knew my appearance was so…

Strange NSV but I'm so happy!
I went shopping with my youngest daughter today. Normally I'm only able to buy wide fit shoes in specialist stores because my feet swell and let's face it, they were FAT! I also couldn't get straps around my ankles because the straps were always too short. We went into Primark and they had some sassy diamante toe post…

Halfway to Paradise
Well, halfway to target but it will be paradise for me LOL I honestly never thought I'd be able to maintain a consistent weight loss, it's taken me over a year to get this far, but for the first time ever I'm now on the downward slope, and it feels so good! Still detest the gym, but love the pool, and have even learnt to…

Brought down to earth with a bump :(
I've been feeling really good about myself recently, my weight is dropping and I am more mobile and exercising regularly. I'd received a lovely comment from my son in law a few days ago, who apparently hadn't recognised me in the crowd when he was trying to find me in our local shopping centre, and I was really feeling as…
