Eating too much at parties....and eating food so that it doesn't go to waste (when i'm not hungry).

I heard these are coming back!! I miss salsa cheese dorito thins from the early 90's

I don't know if this will make you feel any better (probably not) but I am currently 20 lbs lighter than I have EVER been in my life (including teen years). I have two kids (the youngest will be two in a few months) and if I so much as eat an extra pancake I look about 5 months pregnant and have been asked that on numerous…

Stats? 1200 is probably too low for you. But, just some quick suggestions... - There are instant oatmeal packs that are only 100 cals. Make one of those with water. You could either add 1/2 a banana or a bunch of berries. Or, you could bank the 40 cals. - Get plain vanilla greek yogurt. You get a full 8 oz for 130 cals…

Have you talked to him? Only he can change his eating habits and he has to want to. I suggest starting small...add in one veggie a day and then increase after a month or so. Do you do the cooking? Experiment with different ways to make things.

Maybe this is odd since it is supposed to be about weight loss but I use food as my motivator. I absolutely love Quest protein bars. The only time I allow myself to eat them (cuz they are so expensive) is my snack before my early morning work outs. Knowing I get to eat a Quest bar gets me out of bed.

I buy the big tubs of greek yogurt and portion it out myself. The liquid egg whites are cheaper than whole eggs - at least when they are on sale. I will stock up when they are.

nothing or a quest bar

I looked at your diary. If you made an easy swap of the quaker cheddar snack (130 cal, no protein) for 1 cup of plain greek yogurt (130 cal, 23 g of protein) you would reach your protein goal without any problems. Also, I use liquid egg whites to supplement whole eggs. 1/2 cup of the egg whites has 13 g protein and only…

I find plain greek yogurt and egg whites get me to my protein goals most days.

Start with logging what you eat - acurately and honestly. I find that just taking control of something makes me feel empowered and that I am making a difference and working toward me goals.

Either you estimate (as you are doing) or actually use your food scale. I weigh everything that goes into the dish, use the recipie section here to add it all in (including oils, sauces, etc) and then weigh how much comes out. I usually split it into 4 servings so I know, for example, 1 serving = 150g or whatever it turns…

For this box of pasta, weigh out 56 g of it dry. This is 2oz and is 200 cals. It will be nearly a cup cooked and I've found that the weight just about doubles when it is cooked. Hope this helps. Also, you might have been mistaken with your old pasta. if there was a pasta that had those calories for that serving size then…

What is a 20-20-20 class?

Ok, first things first. When I first responded I gave you some tips. You said, "yeah, doesn't work" I just eat it out if the freezer, I can't say no, etc. so, at that point it is just sheer willpower. A lot of time passes for you to think about eating something when you have to go to the kitchen, get it out if the freezer…

Sorry, I'm on a roll. And the past doesn't matter. How much you've screwed up until now doesn't matter. Only today. Focus on today. Focus on saying no just for today.

I also looked at your diary. Your ticker looks like you'd like to lose 60+ lbs? What are your stats? I think 1400 cals may be too aggressive for you and the restriction is causing issues. Do you have a food scale? Are you weighing and measuring everything? Looks like there are a lot of estimations on there (McD side salad…

No, I often bump my own posts. I think over the holidays there are less people on here too. Seems like you have just regular old willpower issues. You can identify your bad behaviors so you have to do things to mitigate them. Stopping for fast food? Pack a lunch and snacks so it is easier to grab those than it is to get…

Loser that bumps my own post....

Congrats on maintaining so long!

I've played around with different methods. First, I'd log just breakfast, lunch and snacks so I had an idea of how much i had left for evening dinner. Then I logged everything but didn't weigh things as carefully (veggies, salads, 1 apple, etc). Now I don't log anything but I still weigh out my food when I am at home and…

I love diet soda - that would be the hardest for me. I keep toying with the idea because people say that after a month or so your taste buds change back to how they are supposed to be and everything will taste better.

Give up artificial sweeteners. wish i had the courage!

I am right with you. I don't mind waking up at five am because I know I get to eat one. To make it easier on my wallet I started trying to make my own. Basic recipe on sweetcheetah.com. Some variations have been successful, others not so much.

If done at a high enough intensity almost anything will burn 600 cals in 60 minutes at 222 lbs- Elliptical, cycling, rowing. The key is you have to push yourself and get out of your comfort zone. If you aren't breathing hard and getting your heart rate up then you are wasting your time (well, not really since its better…

How much do you weigh? What is "a lot?"
-
I've made this multiple times. I LOVE it. I like to put it on little crusty bread pieces. So yummy. Last time I made a double batch and put one in the freezer. I haven't tried it yet but will soon.

applesauce is 1 to 1, greek yogurt is a little less: 1 to 0.75 http://www.koshereye.com/koshereye-features/food-n-drink/1035-chobani-kitchen-conversion-chart.html

You can use egg whites instead of eggs. I can never usually tell the difference. You can substitute applesauce for the vegetable oil, but I don't usually like the consistency when I do that. You could try greek yogurt for the oil also - I've had more success with that. You could make it a diet soda muffin. Use the baking…

I only eat the edges of milton's and I weigh those and they average about 1.7 slices of bread.
