I am doing it for the third time. But this is the first time I've gotten to week 3 without horrible shin splints. Its because my trainer told me that I can do the app on the stationary bike or the elliptical to use different muscles while still working on cardiovascular endurance. I rotate running and bike or elliptical,…

That is an awesome nsv!!!!

If you are eating a good variety of beans and veggies, there's no need to have yogurt in your diet just to get enough protein. But, if you insist, the regular yogurts are not as sour. Greek has become all the rage lately and it is definitely more sour

Thanks everyone, I ordered one from amazon with good reviews. It should be here soon. My dietician recommended getting one because so many food packages are inaccurate. I agree that once I see what real portions are supposed to look like for a while, it gets easier to eyeball. BUT...I have to come back to being strict on a…

I like Jennifer Galardi's stuff. Somewhat easy footwork, but work up to more difficult routines. Different styles too (salsa, hip-hop, and ballet)

I loved it but then I got really bad shin splints. Now I'm doing lots of toe lifts to prevent them before I start again. Hopefully I can finish it this time!

My first year out of nursing school I had PF so bad in my right foot, one day I got out of bed and fell on the floor! I don't know if it was coincidence, but once I bought a good pair of Dansco's work shoes, the PF cleared up and I haven't had any trouble since.

I bake salmon with lime juice, chili, and lemon pepper seasoning. Delish!

The key to success is planning! I've worked nights for 6 years and this is the only time I've successfully lost weight. It is all because I plan my foods in advance, portion them out, and log them before I even go to work. Then I know whatever is in my bag for the night I can eat. Now I actually eat better at work than my…

I got slack on measuring...but I'm back on track. Maintaining is better than gaining!

The same thing happened to me, sometimes I would even fall asleep in class. I felt great though. Now I work out after work in the mornings (i work nights) so its not a problem. I ate breakfast too so I don't really know what would have helped. :( I usually did get another energy burst later in the day so It all evened out.

Just made some with a vegetable peeler and mixed it with fettuccine noodles. It turned out great and since I'm lazy and cheap, I think I'll stick with way for now. Thanks everyone!

I've worked night shift for about 6 years now and only now have been successful with weight loss. The difference really is just planning ahead. I make a casserole, measure the calories in the whole thing, and then divide it into 8 sections. When I go to work, I log everything in my lunch box. I know when I'm at work I can…

I hate to play this card....but.....I agree with everyone else here for the most part. 1) ignore 2) report BUT, when you report, whether it is via email or in person, make sure you say, "I expect results or you will be hearing from my lawyer" I've been to community college, trust me, they will take care of it.

I want to be able to do a "real" pull-up by the end of the year.

If you are truly interested in this subject, I would reccomend the China Study by Dr T.Colin Campbell.

You need dairy in order to get enough calcium.

Its not your job to confront him. Management should not be allowing this creep to harass you.

at the rate I'm going, it will take about a year. I'm ok with that now. I just keep reminding myself that eating healthy and exercising is not a 'waste' of time, even if I don't lose weight that quickly.

In the long run the only thing that matters is how consistent you will be. What do you prefer to do? Get that machine.

I appreciate the input from everyone! Tried to reply earlier but still getting the hang of this :/ I am experimenting with giving up certain foods that may be triggering my migraines that I've had for over 7 years. Giving up dairy, I have gone from 3-4 migraines per week to none, so I think I'm on to something! After about…

I'm going to start doing toe lifts at work to see if this works. Thanks!

When I was on the depo shot I gained about 15 lbs in 3 years, but when people asked me if it made me gain weight, I usually replied, "Well it didn't MAKE me go to the Taco Bell drive through." I started weight watchers while still on depo and was able to lose weight (calorie deficit just like here). Now I have a mirena and…

Been there, that is a HUGE win! Great job.

Hey! Night shift nurse here. What I've been doing the last few months that has worked well for me: I buy a lot of frozen dinners (usually about 300 calories a piece) so I at least have that to start with. I eat a fairly regular dinner before I go into work and count that as Breakfast. While I'm eating/logging that meal, I…

I have been on for a while too and I'd like to make some new friends. I'll add you :)

Look at the times you binge and try to identify how you were feeling. Mine usually happened when I was bored, depressed, or overwhelmed (all emotional triggers). I am about 20 days binge-free right now and the only things I have changed are: 1) planning activities on my days off of work. When I have things scheduled to do,…
