Starting....again.
I’m sure many of you share a similar story...losing and gaining weight. So I’m starting again. Last year I got down to my lowest weight: 160 and I felt amazing. However, depression and then having to go back to night shift and here I am back to my (almost ) heaviest: 200lbs. I tried losing weight with just common sense…

No BS logging.
I'm sure I'm not the only one here that does this: logs faithfully when I'm "on track" then logging somehow disappears when I eat a calorie bomb. Its like I don't want to face the reality, but starting today, I am challenging myself to LOG EVERYTHING. If I didn't measure something out, I have to overestimate (that will…

Things that have worked for this night shift RN
Night shift nurse here. I work 3 12 hour shifts per week in a busy CVICU. I'm down 30 pounds since June, and these are some things that have helped me. 1. I eat a balanced meal any time between 4pm and 6pm. Usually 4oz of protein, 1-2C veggies, and a fat (usually the oil to grill the food). If it's my first night on, I eat…

Confession, ending with a NSV
I, like many, am repeating weight loss after several episodes of relapse, gains, etc. Well, over a year ago I bought a kickass fitted suit to wear to interviews, presentations, what have you. Food scale...pros and cons?
I am considering getting a food scale. Any recommendations? And, did anyone find that using a scale made them more obsessed with food? That is one of the things I'm trying to avoid.

zucchini pasta
I love substituting zucchini in pasta dishes to stretch them out (for less calories!), but I don't want to invest in a zucchini pasta maker if it is going to fall apart. The 'as-seen-on-tv' products are not always reliable. What are people's thoughts?

any reviews on Daiya (from people who love cheese!)?
It is looking like I may have to give up dairy products and I was wondering if anyone has tried daiya products. Either in recipes or by itself. Thanks! Ps; I love cheese and I've tried alternatives in the past that were so nasty, I'd rather have nothing at all.

small NSV, but I'm sure others can relate
Tonight, walking into work on night 3 or 4. Terrible week, I'll spare you the details.....But on my way in I was tired and headed to the caf thinking I'll just say screw it tonight! Then a voice said, "you're not hungry, you're just stressed." I got black coffee and stayed on track... I know this seems small but it felt…

Has anyone had decreased migraines after losing weight?
I've had migraines for about 7 years. Although I wasn't as heavy when I first started getting them, I was still overweight. I recently heard on the radio that new research may link overweight/obesity to increased frequency in migraines. Has anyone who has chronic migraine noticed a difference with weight loss?
