  • I'm always hot, especially after gym or on the way to work in a suit. Very much looking forward to not being so hot! When you're hot there's nothing you can do, can't get semi naked due to social norms etc. But when you're cold it's easy, I just put on a coat or a jacket etc. Thanks for the motivation I want to lose weight…
  • Hi Barbara 3x8 squats, military press, bench, pull-ups and rows are the foundation of my exercise for weight loss. Cardio is a bonus to me. I don't eat at maintenance because I have some big weight loss goals, but I lift 2/3 of my previous max for 8 reps and its steadily increasing towards it (I had a break from gym for…
  • Congrats on starting the journey. Although I'm here to lose weight, the great side effect is learning about eating healthy that comes from tracking my day. About judging when you are full, that never worked for me. I love to eat! The only thing that worked is tracking every single thing I eat even the bad. Myfitnesspal on…
  • In settings it's useful to share your diary too, so people can give more advice
  • With only 5kg to lose you may be quite light with a low BMR already, so 1400 isn't too high. I go for 1450, and exercise 500-1000cal per day (not every day), and I'm a 95kg male. Weight loss has been steady. Aim for 1kg per week is a good challenge without rushing it too much.
  • Thanks, It's all the same timezone now, no DST too. Cheers
  • Great staying power 2 years, this is why I read this forum when I feel like getting off the treadmill!
  • I wish I knew that word, especially when chocolates around!
  • Yes, was.. It was only when I quit that I was able to get some weight loss because: -spending so much time on games I couldn't shop or cook well enough -instead of games now I exercise daily, I didn't have time for both if getting enough sleep -I get more sleep now so have more energy = better willpower -eating while…
  • I think you can. Looking at it from the other angle I've always been pretty active - but I put on 50lb more than I need. The reason - food. I think food has a bigger impact than exercise. For example I worked my *kitten* off today at the gym and then walking and it burned some calories. But that 2 hours exercise is equal…
  • I'm in Sydney and trying to lose 20kg from 100 to 80. Anyone else in the same area who wants motivation and is losing similar weight? Looking for some motivational buddies to keep each other on track and compete with :)
  • Naan bread, more calories than the curry itself!
