  • I'm sorry you're upset about your boyfriend leaving, it sucks when someone close to you will be separated from you for a long time. Mine:* Most of a small cookie cake * Pack of cookie dough poptarts * Three buttermilk biscuits * Chocolate milkshake * Maple cinnamon bagel * Pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream * Think Thin bar…
  • It's not 1,200 but I ate at 1,300 as my base for quite a while. It was workable even before I started adding exercise calories, but I'm not sure I would sprint to the nearest person and recommend it. It requires a lot of forethought in my experience, and careful attention to satiety of foods. Personally, this meant that…
  • Gia07, that's because it's not entirely truthful. I know that's not the purpose of keeping a diary, but there's no "half loaf of bread, one pint ice cream- mostly/somewhat purged" option on MFP. Workoutgrl87, purging, binging, and brief periods of heavy restriction in a mix that has maintained my weight. ChaoticSilhouette,…
  • Cookie dough and cookies and cream are delicious.
  • I use a Weight Watchers scale. It measures several things, I think body fat is one of them, but honestly I only ever use it for my weight.
  • I like throwing zucchini in a pan with a clove or two of garlic over medium heat, then topping with spaghetti or marinara sauce. I also tried carrots but that was a disaster, would not recommend except for maybe over a salad raw.
  • Hey, add me as a friend! I take lessons once a week.
  • I woke up hungry at eleven last night and ate a ridiculous amount of mini Cadbury eggs. And pizza. I'm not proud.
  • Right out of the wrapper. I tried microwaving them but it did weird things to the texture.
  • Either 160 lbs, where I somehow maintained for quite a while, or 200.
  • Running: I love going outside and just heading in whatever direction I want. I find it really cathartic.
  • I definitely agree with your mother, except the point that it stays with you your entire life. I believe it is possible to change your self-image of being "skinny" or "big", but it takes a long time. And I believe that the way society treats overweight people can definitely have huge effects on the way one views oneself- I…
  • If you have a Plato's closet near your area, the prices for lightly used clothing is usually very good there. And they usually have a decent array of sizes and decently cute stuff. As for bras...I just wore mine until I couldn't anymore, lol. It wasn't a good look, but I was waiting for a goal weight before I made any…
  • That's a good point! I did a quick google search and these two look like good charts to reference. I'm sure you can look up others if you don't like them, or search "portion size/s for _____" healthyeating.org/Portals/0/Documents/Schools/Parent%20Ed/Portion_Sizes_Serving_Chart.pdf…
  • People judging you negatively just because of your looks. I've lost about thirty pounds and the difference in the way people treat me is amazing. Also, clothes shopping taking up so much time for so little reward. Again, this has changed so much with the loss of weight, I actually love to shop now.
  • I buy new clothes! For what it's worth I don't see anything wrong with treating yourself with ribs, or anything else. If you work hard to get to a goal, you should be able to treat yourself to something else with no shame or regrets. A new, healthy body is an awesome reward, but some of us also enjoy new books, or the…
  • I like Jif, creamy or the whip variety. I also second the person who mentioned the Wegmans organic, it's not quite as good as Jif but personally I like it better than Peter Pan or Skippy.
  • Oops, sorry that my recommendations weren't really relevant. I still think they're tasty, though :).
  • I find shaming myself to be counter-productive, because I see becoming fit and healthy a positive thing to do for myself. Why would I do something nice for someone I don't like? And I think shaming yourself is not sustainable for a lifetime. It's sad to me that someone finds it necessary to beat themselves into submission…
  • I ran about two miles with no walking breaks. Can't wait until I'm able to run even longer.
  • Another recommendation for C25K! Yesterday I went for a run just for the fun of it, and didn't do one of the scheduled days. I was shocked when I ran about two miles with no walking breaks. I never would've thought that possible just a little bit ago :)
  • The pictures are awesome, guys! I may have to order one or two of my own.
  • I do, every once in a while. Usually I remain on track to lose when I am supposed to, knock on wood. I am trying to get them spaced out further and further, just a personal goal.
  • When I first started losing weight I cut out sugar that wasn't diet, simply because I was trying to cut out the majority of my liquid calories. If you find it easy to fit liquid calories from soda into your day and you like drinking it, why not? That being said, I agree with the posters above- diet soda is a marvel.
  • They are amazing. The bunny-shaped ones are yummy, too. I could eat multiple packs but I will have to practice moderation lol. As for the Cadbury mini eggs, those are to die for. My mother buys us several packs every year. Addicting, and I will definitely be working some into my calories.
  • Hmm, I usually round up or down depending on what mood I'm in. As someone already said, most people don't really have a good idea of what different weights can look like on people, so I feel like it may as well be any random number for most people. However, I am usually no more than a few pounds away from my actual weight.…
  • Weight Watchers mozzarella sticks- fifty calories for a stick, fun to pull apart, and yummy! FiberOne oats and chocolate granola bars- 140 calories and taste like a treat to me. Nectarines- about 60 calories for your average sized nectarine. Mandarines (like Cuties)- 80 calories for two.
  • I understand most comments come from a place of well-meaning, but here are the ones that bothered me a little: 1: "You are losing your figure"- my mother. 2: "You are eating a lot tonight, you usually live on lettuce!"- my mother. 3: "You can have it, it's low fat/small/good for you"- my father. 4: "You should stop losing…
  • I don't see the harm in having a meal at a restaurant that doesn't fit into your daily deficit, or whatever floats your boat. There's no need to binge completely- that's obviously not very helpful. However, it's probably best to have these types of days only once or twice a month. I've been known to have a day like this…
