I have two double-scoop protein shakes per day, which is 100g of protein. From there, whatever I eat is gravy. Recipe: Get a 24oz Blender Bottle from the Vitamin Shoppe (or use a blender) *4 oz of half & half goes in first 2 scoops of Champion Pure Whey Protein Stack Chocolate (23g protein X 2 scoops = 46 g protein) goes…

Hey there, Mamas! I think I've decided to try to walk first thing in the morning. With the weather being so nice, the air felt really good when I took the dog out earlier. That way, I'll have no excuses as the day gets busier. What do they say--put your big rocks in first before your jar is full! Today is crazy errands…

KimKelly65 - Hang in there with the back issues! I understand that they're hardest to deal with medically. Crewellademel - A triathalon sounds exciting! Congrats to your son on his badge, that's an accomplishment! Swissmiss - Who can turn down fried chicken? Those kid-activities can put a bend in the schedule for…

Hey there, everyone! I hope your weekend was fabulous. We spent time with some new friends, ate way too much of some great food, and spent lots of time together as a family. Very blessed! I'm spending a not-so-small fortune today to sign my daughter up for summer day camp. As a kid, I always went because my mom worked. I…

Thanks, LadyPersia! I do feel better. Sdereski, I have those days when I'm just crazy-hungry, and other days when I'm not. It will balance out for you in the end and yes, beginning again is good! Zebras, congrats on the weight loss and the accomplishment in your walking challenge! SwissMiss, how was your weekend? Were you…

bmfrazie - I hope it's nothing serious with your hand. Ouch! Oh man... Barb/BlueRose - I find that these things always work out for the very best. Congratulations on your weight loss! Katie/Katapple - Happy 30th! I hope your weekend is fantastic. The weather is not holding up so well for our condo complex's pool opening…

I would recommend seeing a registered dietitian vs. a nutritionist. Anyone can call himself/herself a nutritionist, but a registered dietitian has to pass educational and certification requirements. Having a rapport with the dietitian and working with someone you trust is really important. A physician or a trainer should…

I'm in. I'm part camel, apparently. There are days when I don't drink water at all. I drink about 72 oz of fluid in my protein shakes every day, but it's not water. Today I've only had about 8 oz. I'm going to set 32 oz as a goal through Saturday, then 40 oz for next week, then 48 oz for the week afterward.

I would say to pick 7-14 healthy foods you like, and then rotate those. Some trial and error may be in order. Have you tried Weight Watchers? They have the old core foods list that allows you to eat as much as you want from that list. Here's an article that may be helpful:…

BlueRose - You're always welcome here! Definitely come back and post. Are you excited about going back to work? Mom2 - Congrats on walking! Keep up the great work, especially while the weather is good. Holly - With the muscles there, the fat has to go ! Hang in there. Rainbow_Brite86 - I had a hard time seeing myself…

I walked two days this week. I started the Couch to 5K program, but I'm not sure I should do it with the blood clot. I was told not to do any strenuous work. Since I'm starting from the couch, everything is strenuous! Trying to get a hold of my doctor to ask his perspective is way easier than done. So, a leisurely walk…

Welcome to the new folks! Post away, we love hearing from you. My one goal today is to walk! I'm doing the couch to 5K program, and I need to get moving. The rain looks like it may hold off until the afternoon, so me and the pooch are on our way out. Eating is OK, I just need more water and to up my protein still. Have a…

Stiring, happy belated birthday! Zebra, I'm going for 90 seconds today on my Couch to 5K program. So, be proud of your 2 minutes! It's cloudy, but it looks like the rain will hold off a bit. I'm hoping to get out for a walk/jog today. The scale is up and I don't like it! I know weight fluctuates based on everything, but…

Zebras, that's a great idea about clothing sizes. I bagged up everything over a size 12, but I'm still holding on to 12s and below. I wear a 6/8. I know it's all in the mind. I have clothes in my closet that someone else can use, and I'm just being scaredy cat and stingy. I will "loose" the 10's and 12's next.…

Happy Monday, everyone! Welcome to all the new people! We all love hearing from you. Please post often. Soni_me, don't be discouraged about the scale! You may be building muscle instead of losing fat. If you haven't already, try to keep track of your measurements--you may also be losing inches if you're not losing pounds.…

Step class has also been known to be a butt-builder. I had a big ole butt when I was overweight, but it was fat instead of muscle. I had that sitting problems even still. Now, after weight loss, it's like sitting on concrete. I've got to have a pillow, even in the house chairs. I sit on my hands when I sit up in bed. I…

I'm totally jealous of your measurements! I always thought that you targeted those areas that you wanted to re-shape. If your percentage of body fat is high overall, then it makes sense to try to lose some of it overall. But if your body fat percentage is good, I'd think you'd want to build muscle and shape in…

Hey, everyone. I'm on my way summer clothes shopping. Whoo Hooo! I weighed 95 pounds more last summer than I do now, so suffice it to say that when I say I have nothing to wear, I REALLY have nothing to wear! I tried to hold on to those clothes for as long as I could. I look like a fashion disaster now trying to wear a 2X.…

Hi there, everyone! Today is supposed to be sunny and 80, unlike the monsoon we've been living with for the past week. We're planning to get out as a family and do some summer clothes shopping. Last summer, I weighed about 95 lbs more than I do today, so nothing I had from before is working. My daughter is growing like a…

Welcome ColoradoRobin, Sdereski, Seashells42, Cletc :flowerforyou: Crewellademel, what a party! Wish I were there, sounds like fun. (I'm a first grader disguised as a middle-aged chick  ). Great news on your positive change. Sodium is a tough one to get down. At Weight Watchers, they would tell us to just up our…

MKWood - Congrats on your daughter's graduation! That's a huge accomplishment. I know you're proud. Tell her not to worry about the student loans--she can always get a deferment if she's not employed after 90 days (but she will be!). Tron - I really hope your brother finds his ring! That Sponge Bob is…

Nicole (PNCTink) - I say muffins are nutritious because they're breakfast food--the most important meal of the day! KatieM7 - Yard work is next! It's not my thing, but ours looks a hot mess. :ohwell: Hollyb - way to go on the workout and water! I'm so bad with both...:frown: Lloydmel - Loving the gym in 98% of the…

Swissmiss - So glad to see you posting! Support is the key to success for sure. Aimee - Any kind of furniture moving counts as triple the exercise in my book! I hate moving, even re-arranging my furniture in the same room. Welcome to Crewellademel, Trishobr, and Ladie_Sapphire65! Ladie_Sapphire65, I'd say to try wine…

Katie - Way to get back on the horse! You can totally do it! My sister works a full-time job and has no kids. Her husband is unemployed right now, so she gave him a list of chores to do today. She said, "I think that all stay at home moms should have a Monday to just catch up on their cleaning." Well, I'll take…

I agree with Torregro. There is a difference between folks who are naturally thin and always have been, and people who have dieted their way to slim or even had surgery. Formerly overweight people are always conscious of food and weight, knowing that pounds can creep on quickly and that they're not easy to lose. People who…

Slimmer in Summer--I'll take it! I may try that Jillian Michaels DVD (I tried not to say "tape" and show how over-40 I am! ). I feel like I'm all tummy right now. I've been battling a bit of the blues lately. I have no idea why. We had all these beautiful sunny days, and all I did was hang out in the house.…

Hey, all! I'm way behind, but I just want to say 'hi' to everyone. I lost 5 lbs last week. Whoo Hooo!

Hi there, everyone! Today I am very much feeling like a SAHM. I don't feel like working on my business--I feel like doing some house cleaning! I have no idea what's come over me, I must be in Bizzarro World. It's raining here today, so the chances of me going for a walk are pretty slim. I'm thinking jumping…

Altushe - WOW. That's a lot going on. I'd say that you'll have an easier time gaining some weight once your iron and red blood levels are normal over a period of time. Right now, I vote for eating in a way that gives you the most energy and strength--and of course getting in your green veggies and high-iron foods. I'm glad…

NikNik - Congratulations on your weight loss! :flowerforyou: I remember waiting to hit that beautiful number--199. One-derland! I think I had a party all by myself! If you can't log on at your computer, there's an android app that you can use on your phone (if you have a 'droid--I'm sure there's also one for iphone). I…
