So...no one's got an answer regarding me B12 question?
-
Yes, that's how MFP is designed. Do your best to get your net to 1200. And no, you're not 'storing' what you eat if you're in a deficit. The only way your body will ever store fat is when you give it excess calories. Eating too little can be harmful in the long run and can result in loss of muscle/bone density/etc, but it…

But what about B12? We need B12, and the general population gets it from meat sources without a problem. Vegans need B12 supplements because they don't get it in their diet. If we didn't need meat, then why is it (basically, with the exception of dairy and eggs) the only source of B12? ETA: My knowledge on the whole B12…

Is that the number MFP gave you when you entered your information? How much weight do you have to lose? 1200 is generally considered the absolute minimum and almost all women can comfortably lose while eating more than that. You should be getting a NET of 1200 at the end of the day, to match your original goal.

If you consume fewer calories than you burn, yes. But eliminating gluten will not be the reason for your weight loss.

This ^^^
-
No they won't. It's bad for you to net too low, sure, but your body won't magically store the calories...
-
You need to eat more. I would double that number at least, not including any exercise calories. ETA: 1200 is the recommended MINIMUM for FEMALES. Since you're male and 270lbs you have a greater calorie need. 1000cals will only end badly, so please eat more.
-
Oh you just made me so happy.
-
I think they just wanted to show off their smarts.
-
A....staircase?
-
I agree with Herk, for a male with 169lbs to lose that is far too little.
-
As the OP stated "Simply saying "no thank you" or even explaining what I just did here doesn't seem to work." I assume we're all working off the idea that they refuse to take no for an answer.
-
No one ever invites me :grumble:
-
You eat them back because MFP has already created a calorie deficit. So by exercising you're only increasing it, when can be bad in the long run. Also, you won't be gaining muscle while eating a deficit, unfortunately. Personally I eat them back, because I love food and find that if I don't I can't do my HIIT workouts…

I believe heavy lifting is when your max rep is between 4-6? So if you can only do 5 repetitions of a movement with a set weight then that would be considered heavy lifting. I've only started lifting recently though so a more experienced member may have to correct me on this.

Actually a surprisingly solid argument lol. I haven't had this, but I assume loud cursing may be more effective. Sometimes people don't respond to simple manners.
-
How are you measuring this? Is this a resting rate? Apparently some olympic runners have a resting HR of 35 BPM. If you're concerned however, I'd recommend a doctor.
-
A HRM will be quite accurate when used while running, kinda accurate when used doing JM and not at all accurate when lifting weights. It's meant to be used doing steady state cardio, like running. The more you get away from that, the less accurate the results will be, just something it pays to remember. And by loop, they…

That was extreme sarcasm, btw...
-
As long as it's not celery. I did that as a child, never again!
-
fitnessblender.com has a lot of HIIT videos.
-
I'm sorry, but there is no way they gained 7 pounds of muscle in two weeks while eating at a deficit. I would say water retention due to a sudden increase in exercise. It should go away in a week or so.

I still don't understand American's and putting pumpkin in things....

-
Are they the banana + 2 egg ones? Yeah, you'll have to sell your soul to get those to work.
-
True, but it's enough to give credit to the idea that MFP's estimates aren't always inflated.
-
Yeah, when I do cardio my polar usually has 50-80 more than MFP, and if I'm using a machine it's higher than that too. Now I have trust issues.
-
I read the first four jokes and didn't finish the rest. I had a feeling the 'quality' of jokes would only decrease...

You literally just made a conclusion about a group of people based on your personal interpretation of responses to threads. That's rather judgemental.
