Definitely keep the really tempting "bad stuff" out of the house and try regularly brushing your teeth with strongly flavored toothpaste or chewing really minty gum so that the flavor of anything you might be tempted to binge on will be spoiled by the mintyness. It's easier to avoid eating things you shouldn't if you know…

I'm going to start this today if anyone wants to add me, just send a message with your request to let me know you're doing the shred too! This will be my first time trying it. :)

The almonds are a good suggestion! Maybe a little trail mix with the nut and dried fruits?

I'm starting today, need to undo the Halloween candy damage. Feel free to add me! Just include a message with your request so I know you are doing the November Shred too! :)

I don't eat meat out of respect for the animals. I don't feel that they are "mine" to eat any more than I would like to be "theirs" to eat. I love being at the top of the food chain, where reason and compassion outweighs primitive impulse, giving me the ability to choose not to eat my finned, feathered, and furry fellow…

I'm 5'7, around 130 pounds and my current collection of jeans run from size 3 to 9. If I go shopping, I use size 5/6 as a "jumping off point" to start trying them on.

One thing I do that I think hasn't been mentioned(?) to save money is that I regularly sell clothes at consignment and replace them with other used clothes. With losing weight, I find myself needing to buy clothes often since I shrink and wanting to buy clothes often because my body is more fun to dress now. It seems like…

^^^neglected to log out of partner's account there^^^ What I wanted to say was that I was recently told "You need to stop losing weight. You're getting too small." and that's not something I like to hear. I'm nowhere near "too small." How would they like it if I said to them, "You need to stop gaining weight, you're…

I absolutely hated Depo too. There was definitely weight gain when I was on it and I developed a rash. We couldn't say for certain if the rash was from the Depo but it coincided with it when nothing else in my diet/routines had changed.

Congrats on your engagement and good luck with your fitness goals! I'm getting married in 8 months, the prospect of looking good in THE dress is certainly helpful motivation!

A lot of people who talk about the ad, talk about it not being so bad and say that "The yogurt is the healthier choice, of course!" It makes me wonder whether Yoplait didn't just get the ball rolling on the "controversy" themselves for the sake of free publicity.

I have that conversation in my head every time I eat. I think most people who are counting calories and really absorbed by monitoring their food/exercise do. And I have literally jogged in place to compensate for indulgences myself. I guess part of being sort of bothered by the controversy was seeing news stories reporting…

I read some articles about this earlier today. Interesting stuff. My thought is that if anyone in that commercial is sick, it's the one who doesn't even seem to notice the real cheesecake sitting there. I'd probably go for the cheesecake and make up for it with a jog. Cheesecake is delicious and jogging is fun!

Oh! How about this one... "Don't get too skinny. Men like a woman with a little meat on her bones, y'know."
-
Lately, I find myself annoyed by anything outside of a brief "You look good." or something similar. I'm getting a little tired of being called "tiny." It was flattering the first couple of times but people keep using that word and it's just not true so it's getting old. Ha! I also don't like being told I "might blow away."…

Exactly!

Make sure you're drinking lots of water too. It seems to really help keep my skin looking better. I also avoid wearing make-up most days (especially if I'm not going out) and just splash water on my face instead of using harsh cleansers. Sometimes, it helps to just take a break from all of the chemicals and let our skin…

I'm usually hungry after a workout so I eat just a wee bit before hand (usually something in the carb department) and save the big meal for after (something with lots of protein.)

I weigh several times a week, sometimes every day, but I don't log a weight loss until I get that number several times in a row, then I tell myself it's "sticking" and I go ahead and log it so that I can work towards not going back above that number.

@Niveous - Silk "PureAlmond" is what my family has settled on. We use it in our cereals, when baking, making lasagna...everything. And it seems to work/taste fine in all of those situations. Now eating: Dry roasted edamame! Crunchy little bits of protein heaven! :)

Pickycook.com is my new favorite thing in the world. We made this one night before last and had leftovers again yesterday. It was sooooo good and beautifully colorful! We made a different mushroom gravy, but the herb roasted veggies were delicious and pretty low-cal.…

I love to bake, so my "bad" days involved things like sampling my cookie dough before it goes into the oven, having four or five fresh out of the oven hot cookies and then enjoying eight more cookies after they've cooled. (And if there were any cookies left the next day, I'd eat them before breakfast.) Cookies, cake,…

If I give in and go over calories, I try to offset it with exercise or by eating "better" for the rest of the week. A milkshake here and there won't kill you if the rest of your week's worth of food is mostly good stuff.

Those are some great victories!
-
Absolutely, it's okay! It shouldn't be the most important thing in your life, but it's just as valid a pursuit as most! :) I was just thinking yesterday, "Am I too vain? Do I worry too much about silly superficial things like the size of my thighs?" and then I played this scenario out in my head where I get hit by a truck…

Today it was the B-52s, "Dance This Mess Around."

Awesome job! I love getting rid of my "fat clothes," it's my way of telling myself I can "never go back," because if I did I would have nothing to wear!
-
Yes! Keep on pushing, it'll happen. :)

Jogging on a trampoline/rebounder seems to help.

I get all melty when he says "Your loyalty is not to me, but to the stars above." in One More Cup of Coffee. However, Nashville Skyline is my favorite Dylan album. I know it's not the most classic, but we have no control over what/who our love decides to sink its claws into and somewhere along the way, that's the one that…
