  • My local tesco had almost completely sold out apart from 4 tubs of peanut butter cup. As it's still half price I thought I'd try a pot and was more than pleasantly surprised! Now kinda wishing I'd got two. :D
  • I'm so sorry for what you have been through with your husband. Huge well done for your achievements so far, you sound like a wonderful person.
  • Hello. :-) No expert here, although I do have a bit of similar experience to you, as I was a fairly non-confident cyclist who did a 100 mile ride (albeit not in a day) on hardly any training at all. I think 12 weeks will be fine, especially as you're already reasonably fit. You'll be surprised how quickly cycling fitness…
  • I have a Garmin Vivosmart HR which, for the price, I have to say is absolutely ace, especially as it's waterproof, so I can just leave it on and forget about it and I only have to charge it about once every 8-10 days. I use it as a fitness "accessory", by which I mean I don't take everything is says as gospel, but as a…
  • Not only do you look amazing, but no doubt the benefits for your health are very good indeed. Well done, so impressive. And yes, your figure definitely belies your chronological age! This is exactly why I believe health, exercise and especially resistance training should, to within reason, be lifelong.
  • I've been here for a good few years, feel free to add. :-)
  • Ahh, one of my best holidays was in Herefordshire! Hampshire and Sussex here, I'm going to go on an adding spree now. :-) Feel free to add me. My logging streak reads as 175 days but I've actually been using MFP daily for 3 years, I just reset it for a fresh start.
  • I used to be a gym regular, for many years, but I cancelled my membership over a year ago because of the expense vs the amount of time I had free to use it, it just wasn't worth it for me. Since then, I have discovered just how much you can achieve fitness wise without a gym membership. I cycle, run, walk, dance at home to…
  • Hiya. I'm a dental assistant. I work in two very different practices, one national health which is over three floors and extremely busy, the other is private only and pretty quiet a lot of the time, so my days overall average out to being in the "lightly active" range. :-)
  • Ah well done! I've been doing chin up and pull up training for a while now and I'm so close but not quite there. My negatives are spot on, but getting up from the ground unaided is just out of reach!
  • I can't offer better advice than you've already had but I can sympathise. It's taken me four months to lose 9lbs, which is the same time taken for me to lose 2 stone a couple of years ago, doing the same things. It can be immensely frustrating but as long as the general trend is down, please don't get too disheartened. I…
  • Hampshire area but looking for more friends to support and be supported, from anywhere! Have logged in daily for year and a half although streak broken several times due to phone not syncing!

  • I'm exactly the same as you in losing 30 lbs then regaining it, I gained over a year but I'm heading back down now. I'm open to new friends, a lot of mine haven't logged in for months!
  • Lots of my old friends don't come on here any more, always good to have support and support others, i'll add you! Open to new friends. :)
  • For me it was the opposite, I find it helps me overcome anxiety and clear my mind of it, I always feel better after working out. As for diet, I don't notice anything in particular except for coffee or caffeine, that can set it off, which is annoying as I LOVE coffee!
  • Also looking for buddies, feel free to add. :)

  • Hello :) Well done on your success so far! And welcome to MFP. I'm also a big fan of documentaries, it's pretty much all I watch. I'm a student, albeit a mature one. I used to suffer really badly from GAD and to some extent still do, but mostly these days it's just when I push myself to do new things. It's a tough thing to…
  • I have no idea if I fit into this category or not, as there's a lot of gamers here and I don't play much (although I do still have an old N64 on which I play my one and only game, Mariokart). But anyway, i'm perhaps more of a 'geek' than a nerd, but my interests are physics, in particular quantum mechanics, and…

  • Flipping hell, you look amazing! I'll add you, very inspiring. :)
  • I was definitely in denial about my weight, avoiding being in photo's was a way of avoiding the truth, as was avoiding shopping for clothes, and avoiding mirrors. Mine was when my other half went away 4 months ago working overseas and we took some photographs as a keepsake. I was shocked with what I saw and even though by…
  • Aww, I love this! My OH has been inspired too, even though he has been overseas for the last 4 months, he is due back in two weeks and seems excited about the prospect of being my new fitness and healthy eating buddy. My NSV wasn't today but a couple of days ago, got to work and realised my uniform was dirty, the…
  • I can't speak for others but I did have this too, and although i'm no psychologist I think that for me it has been because my body shape took some time to start changing, so to begin with although I was slimmer, my overall body shape remained the same, just a bit smaller, and ergo my mental map, if you like, of what I…
  • Firstly, try to realise that the panic attack, whilst horrible, cannot hurt you. The feeling you're having as you already know is the association to what happened, so if you can do something to take your mind off of concentrating on recalling that feeling from last night then that might be helpful to you. I know it's…
  • HUGE well done to you! Found your post very inspiring. And what a beautiful medal! Keep up the great work. :flowerforyou:
  • Wow, what a difference! Well done, you look really great. :flowerforyou:
  • Finally made it! YAYYY! My first running challenge complete after thinking I might not get time to finish off due to recent weather and things coming up, but i've ended on a high today after a terrible attempt the other night ended at 3.4km (I was knackered), I have just done my longest run to date at 12km's and am…
  • Like you i've done this a few times, and although i've never been one for fad diets I have only been successful at losing properly once before, and then clearly that wasn't truly successful seeing as i'm here now. Last time I did it, and every other time I tried, I made the huge mistake of having an all-or-nothing…
  • You look amazing, thanks for sharing. Overcoming anxiety issues is no mean feat as I know all too well, so extra big congratulations, you've put the work in and you've succeeded. Will look forward to the goal pics if you choose to share them. :flowerforyou:
  • Hooray! Nearly there! Another 6 miles today, and not much work after this week so hoping to be well over on the month's miles. 3/4 3 miles - outside 3/8 6 miles - outside 3/10 6 miles - outside 3/12 3 miles - outside 3/13 2 miles - outside 3/16 6 miles - outside 3/18 6 miles - outside
