People eat more in general, that's the issue. I always laugh to myself when "experts" say: "look, they promoted low fat for years and there was ahuge rise in obesity "... Rubbish! That would presume that all obese people have been on a low fat diet for years which I very much doubt.

I forgot to say that other than a sore bum I had no muscle ache despite the fact that I really only started after a period of virtually doing nothing (other than walking an average of 6500 steps a day)

thank you guys :-)

hey guys had lots of fun following my friends this last month. So I am recycling this post just to add more friends. It really makes a difference:-) feel free to add me!

Is that according to mfp? I read on several websites that anything from 7000 is lightly active. I takes me on awful lot of time to get 10000 steps in already..lol
-
Hey amazing! In fact I am also 5'5 and started at the same weight. I too have ADHD and suffer with Anxiety and Depression so I know how you feel. I only take meds during the winter because I don't want to have too many pills but I guess that's personal choice - And I think I haven't gone through quite as much as you have…
-
I don't think Pacer measures my intensity level (I disconnected GPS cause it was draining my battery). Yeah I am not sure what MFP consideres sedentary, lightly active and very active when it comes to steps. What worries me more is the inconsistency on different days with the same amount of steps.

I am in the same boat and I used to exercise a lot more but ONLY linked to practical things like cycling to work or walking an extra bus stop when I need to go somewhere. I really hate how exercise makes me feel and I personally think it's a lot more important to keep moving all day than having 3 hardcore workout sessions…

What kind of phone are u using? I find the iPhone way more accurate than Android...Even counted my steps manually to compare and its pretty bang on!
-
hi matt, just downloaded it and I like it..but I cant link it to mfp? This app is not an option in mfp :-(
-
Yes you are right, I log everything even if I go over my allowance. It really helps me. Thanks for adding me :-)We can do it! Thank u all guys!

You are obviously correct that many newspapers just report the exact opposite of the findings. However, this article shows that even bad science studies where newspapers report the results exactly the same way they were told, are often not peer reviewed and to be honest the ultimate fault lies with the study (as the author…
-
That's true but remember that many studies quoted by those newspapers were exactly done that way. Should journalists be less lazy? Of course they should. Bear in mind though that journalists are not Scientists either. So the root problem is that there are still Scientists who conduct studies I this manner and the layman is…

Thank you, seems like we dont have that in the UK. We have Yogi Tea but not this particular one. I will see if I can find it somewhere. Most of them are shipped from the US which makes it really expensive...

Thanks guys!

the story of my life! lol... I lost 70lb in the past though and only put it back on through working from home and stress. So I know I can do it again although I'm a bit older now and am a lot less active. This time it's the first time in 5 years that I actually managed to stick to this fir longer than 48 hours.. haha.. I…

if anything it will get me into a routine.. I am on the heavier side and to discourage someone to do any kind of exercise is, imho this typical all or nothing attitude that brought a lot of people to the weight they are. I started two days ago and it's not that easy as it sounds, which for someone sedentary like me is…
-
maybe i should clarify.. i wouldn't do it for just 7 minutes .. :-) I would do 3 reps as recommended and it's also high intensity, if you do it 7 days a week I can't see it not working... especially with someone who isn't that fit.
-
if you say so.... i guess i will have to do my own review
-
Well, even if it's not effective, I would like to see a review of it :-) I guess if you are pretty unfit and also try to reduce your calories at the same time I wonder if it does something, at least give you more energy.
-
thanks for adding me :-)

to be honest I once had a similar app and never did it for some reason, I should really give it a go. I guess it's high intensity? well especially since I started working so early because my hubby is a night owl I don't always get to bed as early as I want to. I also find it harder towards winter and in the past I used to…

The problem with low carb is, that it gives you no energy. Been there, got the tshirt. The reason why low carb works is that you also lose your appetite. Your brain runs on Glucose so it needs carbs. Don't believe the hype.. it's also not good for the environment. Eat more veggies and at least some carbs in form of rice or…

let's put it this way, the bottom of the pan was covered with oil and then some...

I asked him if I could watch him cook. He used plenty of oil so we started a conversation about why Chinese people are so slim :D I had loads of veggies, some tofu, some rice but no idea how much oil I had.. lol.. they eat loads of fruit all day, too...and dont do much exercise. It's a mystery.. haha
-
haha yeah I wanted to get one when I worked from home.. but I feel a bit stupid in the office I also go for walks and lunchtime.
-
I am trying to get to bed at 10 but my hubby is a night owl which makes it difficult sometimes. Ideally I should got to bed at 9pm.Mind you, before I started this job I worked shifts and sometimes slept up to 11 hrs uf I had to start later in the day.. eek My calorie target is deliberately high, I want to lose veeeery…
