  • Hamilton, Scotland. Always been here and probably always will unless I win the lottery :p
  • Hi Dean, very well done on losing such a huge amount. I have about 20-25 lbs to go, my weight comes off really slow but it stays off which is what counts. I am from Hamilton, Scotland. Feel free to add me if you want.
  • Bought it last week, on Day 3 today. Only cost £19.99 on amazon.co.uk and I got the X Train Fit Yoga workout free with it so 16 workouts in total for £20. I already had the X Train Fit program but some of the workouts, while good, were too long and I had trouble fitting them in. XTFMax workouts are a bit shorter so easier…
  • I'm doing this too. Lost about 2 stones years ago on slimming world but put it back on after having kids. I tried slimming world again a few years ago and it just didn't work anymore. I'm now trying to follow the plan again (extra easy) but weighing and logging my foods at the same time on MFP to keep an eye on my calorie…
  • I'm 39, mum of 2 boys. I'm 5'3" weighing around 164 lbs. Would love to get down to between 130-135 lbs. I worked part-time for the last 7 years and have just gone back to full-time in November so finding it really hard to get the work-outs in. Also just been diagnosed with IBS which means that some days I still look about…
  • Bump - lurking and picking up some great tips
  • I'm out the door at 6am so no time to eat or cook so I leave a carton of almond or coconut milk in the fridge in work and a bag of unsweetened swiss muesli in my desk. I just grab a banana on the way out the door to slice over it when I get to work. I have that around 7am and it holds me until around 10am when I have some…
  • I didn't say I wanted to take 2.5 kg, I said I would need to decant it, and it's white, not strange coloured. And yes, I am aware that they eat there but you obviously didn't read my reasons for taking it. Really no need to be so sarcastic but hey, I suppose some people can't help themselves.
  • Just an update, the airline didn't know if protein powder was allowed or not and just referred me to the Turkish customs web page. Anyhoo, I decided to take it with me and put it in my case. Put it in a large plastic tub with the label off the original packaging attached. No questions, no issues, happy days  Ovacik…
  • It really is ridiculous that there should be such a problem traveling with protein powder when it is freely available to buy practically anywhere. It's not like you get strawberry flavoured smack lol  I don't like the protein bars, too much sugar, carbs and too many calories and again, too expensive. They can't be…
  • Thanks guys for your replies. I've had a look on some other websites too to try and get a definitive answer but seems to be a mixed bag of replies from people who haven't actually traveled and taken protein powder with them, and if they have it's not been to Turkey so not sure what to do. Keeping it in the original…
  • I used to buy all my chicken breasts, fish etc from the chilled section in the supermarkets until I discovered that I can buy double the quantity if I buy them frozen from a freezer shop and there is often a deal with 3 for £10. For £10 I can get 1 kg chicken breast fillets, 1kg cod/haddock/basa fillets and 1kg pork loin…
  • I like http://www.bodybuilding.com/ and www.fitocracy.com which are both free but remember to gain muscle you need to eat more as it's difficult to build muscle while in a calorie deficit so will need to adjust your diet accordingly. There is lots of great advice on these sites. Good luck with your goals
  • Bump - Love a good curry so going to try this at the weekend :)
  • Bump to remind me to check out Elliott Hulse :)
  • I'm in a similar situation as you - not seeing as good a result as I would have hoped for - so interested to see what other advice there is.
  • I'm glad by my asking it's helped someone else too :drinker:
  • I guess that's kind of what I meant - except you've explained it better lol  Previously when I've increased the weight I've waited until I could do at least 8 reps at the higher weight before moving up and that's kind of why I'm sticking where I am now because I'm not ready for 8 at the higher weight. Although to…
  • Thanks guys, I do realise the importance of good form , especially since I have a weak lower back too and wouldn't sacrifice this in order to add more weight. SezxyStef - comment dismissed lol  212019156 - I was thinking that I should be able to do 8-12 reps again when I increase the weight, but actually after…
  • I realise it's all relative to each persons individual strength but I saw a post on MFP a few days ago where a lady had said she was lifting x amount (can't remember the exact amount but it didn't seem too bad to me) and somebody else asked why she wasn't lifting heavy. Normally I take what I see in the forums with a pinch…
  • Thanks, I guess I just wanted reassurance that what I'm doing should work. I'm finding it difficult to get past the weights I'm on just now as my upper body strength is much weaker than my lower body. I really struggle with push ups etc due to my shoulder and feel this stops me from progressing. I know it will come…
  • Mostly I struggle with the last 2 reps, I need to hold for a few seconds before finishing the reps. I find anything involving my right shoulder/arm uncomfortable because of my injury although this is my dominant side and my stronger side.
  • I'm 5'3" and currently 165lbs - I always wear a bikini. Even when we went to Bulgaria and I was 7 months pregnant and weighed about 180lbs I wore a bikini. I originally took some tankinis with me to cover my belly, but with a growing bump and the heat I ended up saying "Sod it!!" and I wore the bikinis. I enjoyed our…
  • I'm 5'3" and 38 yrs old, mum to two boys age 7 and 10 and from Hamilton, Scotland. Currently at 166lbs and trying to get down to around UK size 8-10. I am currently size 12-14 so a little bit to go. I used to think that I wanted to get down to 130lbs, but now I really don't care what that number on the scale is, as long as…
  • Just bought this and so far only done workouts 1 & 2. How have you guys got on with this? Have you had any success with fat loss?
  • Do you have any abdominal separation (diastasis recti)? If you do you should avoid traditional stomach exercises like sit-ups, crunches etc which all put pressure on your tummy muscles and can make the separation worse. You should check this first before doing any type of tummy exercise. Your GP can check for you or you…
  • I have a desk job and workout 5-6 times a week alternating between strength (weights, kettlebells, bodyweight routines) and HIIT training. I have MFP set to lightly active as I also walk to and from work most days and have two kids so do a fair bit of running up and down after them. I also have a fitbit which I use to…
  • This ^^ Out of interest - what is your BMR? I am 5'3" and 179 lbs. My BMR is aroung 1550 cals - so that's what my body would need for my organs to function properly and keep me alive if I laid in bed all day and did nothing. At 189 lbs and 5'7" your BMR has got to be higher than mines. At a minimum this is what I would be…
  • lol, my ISP won't let me access the page. Just need to wait for the book
