oof bit of a difference then!

Managed to deadlift 2 x my bodyweight for the first time last week, have my clean up to 80kg. Still suck at snatches though!

It's hard to tell as it's so varied. Between 300 and 450 I find generally, for an hours class. Tracked with a HRM. But some days that'll be more weightlifting, some days more cardio

I'm in the UK (Norwich), most of our coaches are all BWL qualified coaches too. Outside of London, it's also a relatively cheap option, I pay £41 a month and train 5 times a week, makes it a bargain in my book.

Do it, see if you enjoy it. For some reason CF just attracts a lot of haters, usually people who haven't even tried it.

I love Crossfit. I can't train at a normal gym, I get bored. I don't want to be able to lift anything super-heavy, I'm not training to compete, I have no motivation to enter a Crossfit competition, or any other competition. I love the social aspect of it, the variety in the workouts and the health benefits. I'm fitter and…

Standard advice is 40%/30%/30% carbs/fat/protein. With protein set at 1g of protein for every lb of lean body mass. And set your calories from that. But this is just a guideline and everyone is different. I train first thing in the morning, don't eat before hand as it's too early. Then have overnight oats with my protein…

I'd just follow the advice above, if you have a couple of boxes near you, have a chat with their coaches, see if they offer a free tasting session. Go along and have fun. As someone who hadn't done any exercise for 3 years before joining, it was a bit intimidating going along to my first class. But you quickly learn, no…

I've been training at my local Crossfit Box for nearly a year, am now much stronger and fitter than I was and I really enjoy it. There are good coaches and bad coaches as in anything though. If they write scores on the board, remember, you're only competing with you, if you're not confident lifting the Rx weight, don't.…

yeah as above, keep them filed down. If they get too thick you'll risk ripping them
-
Ouch. I'm paying £45 a month, so approx $65

Pros I get an extra 10 minutes in bed before getting up for training

I dunno, possibly that. Or those that can be overly competitive. If you go all out on every single workout then you're going to put yourself at risk of injury. I don't know whether I've just been lucky, but both boxes I've trained at locally have been really good at mixing it up with less intense, less heavy, conditioning…

Me :)

From Northumberland, but live in Norwich

Yep :) Although I'm a relative newbie 18.1 - 270 reps, scaled 18.2 - 8:36, 143lbs

Surely that's a problem of specific coaches and boxes and not Crossfit in general? I hate gyms, struggle to stay motivated. Joined a Crossfit box last May, and our coaches are great. Really hot on making sure you're lifting correctly. Can certainly see how you could injure yourself if badly coached, but that's true of most…

Norwich here as well

That one really gets to me as well, along with brought/bought.

I was, but I moved to Norwich years ago :)

Cheers all, I am determined to get back on it, just a blip with being so busy sorting everything else out has meant I haven't had time to get to the gym or the climbing wall. Combined with a few meals out to catch up with friends / family before the wedding, and it's all gone downhill. Will be getting back to the gym…

There's not, there's really no opinion on the matter, just simple facts. 1lb of fat = 3500calories. To lose 1lb of fat every week, you need to be 3500 calories, so 500 per day, under your "maintenance". Certain diets may assist with this, and give other benefits in some places, but the fact remains that for fat loss, you…

Ah you definitely should! I've noticed a huge improvement in core strength since getting into it, and cured my fear of heights :)
