Hey all, I'm Natalie. Planning to start OMAD today. Looking for folks doing similar so feel free to add me as a friend. I'm from the UK (living in Scotland), I've just turned 40, have recently had a baby (6 months old) and want/need to lose about 200lbs. I'm hoping OMAD will help as I rarely eat throughout the day at the…

You hit the nail on the head colors_fade! We've covered "fueling", i.e eating regular meals with snacks and I've found it definitely helps reduce the binges physically, but mentally I still crave. I was the type to eat nothing all day and then stuff myself at night...never ate breakfast etc. Kinda got past that and I eat…

You haven't really eaten a proper "meal" with a diary like that...two egg whites and a multi vitamin isn't dinner. Do you not get hungry? What are your stats...what does MFP give you as a calorie limit with it set to a 1 or 2lb loss? How much do you need to lose? What did you eat like before? How far under your daily goal…

Hey I totally understand where you're coming from, and I agree! It can be an addiction, several studies have proved this. Google food addiction for more info. It can become a chemical dependency in the brain, similar to which an alcoholic or drug addict experiences, (especially the likes of bulimia and binge eating…

I explained in my post but will copy for you below. x "I stuck your details in here - http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ (5ft,3/23 yrs/139lbs) which gave you a BMR of 1447 cals per day. I then went here - http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/ and as you said you work out around 4…

Is there a reason you feel the need to be so patronising and ill mannered? I'm all for people disagreeing with me, but an actual thought out answer would be preferable to rudeness. :) Thank you! ;)

I've found also, if you eat the same amount of kcals and do the same exercise your body can kinda get used to it, so bumping up your cals a few times a week (even by 200-300) and changing up your exercise routine can help. If you're wanting to work on your legs, swimming, exercise bike and all other "leg related" exercises…

Well, if the cap fits... :p

Seems like a pain in the *kitten* when you first start, but if you do cook a lot of meals from scratch, the recipe tool on MFP is fab! Next time you're cooking a meal, just weigh stuff as you're adding your ingredients and jot down the numbers in a notepad, then add those weights into your recipe on MFP, a long with the…

She'll only gain if she eats over her maintenance which is around 2242 kcals a day. No one suggested she should start shovelling food in, but she certainly shouldn't be starving herself either.

You're not eating enough. I stuck your details in here - http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ (5ft,3/23 yrs/139lbs) which gave you a BMR of 1447 cals per day. I then went here - http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/ and as you said you work out around 4 times a week, I multiplied…

Told ya! Defo see a big difference! All that swimming paid off eh! He doesn't smile cos he's a miserable old git, lol xxx

If you use "light" versions of things...such as butter/cheese/sweetener then switch to full fat versions...nuts are good for energy and have a lot of cals, so adding a handful would help increase cals and they're good for you. Oil instead of light spray when cooking, fruit or fruit juice, cereal bars, perhaps even slightly…

Hey all, restarting after gaining most of what I lost a couple of years back. I'm 36, from Merseyside. Open diary to friends etc. Would like to add peeps who have open diaries also as I need some new ideas for meals and snacks. Am a vegetarian also. :)
-
Looking for some motivation too! Just restarting. Lost 7 stone on here back in 2011, put just under 5 of that back on, so need a kick up the *kitten* and some diaries to nose through for ideas! I'm 36 and from the North West. Feel free to add me! x

I think you're over reacting. You OVERHEARD someone *****ing about their job. Who doesn't ***** about their job sometimes? It wasn't like she was announcing it to all the members that she found working with them boring or she found making signs boring (I would too!), you overheard her talking to someone else, right? So…

If you are weighing food correctly and not under estimating, it could be that you're not eating enough to fuel your exercise, perhaps slowing down your metabolism in the process. Looking at your diary, you do use a lot of quick add calories. Whilst there's nothing wrong with this, it makes it a little harder to offer…

I've tried WW and I've tried Slimming World (think it might be UK based?) and whilst both work to some degree...I found some of their "rules" to be quite strange and restrictive. With WW I found having to "point" everything a pain, especially as most foods don't have point values on them unless you eat WW branded stuff,…

I lost 97lbs in 2011, put it all back on and then some. Starting again is crap but just think how you'd be if you didn't...you'd put the other 40lbs on and then some. Being a mum is really stressful sometimes, mine is 16 now and it doesn't get any easier. Tantrums, attitude, testing the boundaries, slamming doors...doesn't…

I have to mash everything up together and then normally put it on bread or crackers. I also don't like biting stuff like toast for example because I get crumbs all over me so I break it up into bite size pieces. :s

Make sure you eat back your exercise calories and try having 2 or 3 days at maintenance level, i.e. up your cals for a few days.

Hey, I'm in Liverpool, feel free to add me. Where in Ireland are you? My family is from Carlow. xx

Quorn is a good meat substitute, low fat and high in protein. There's soya and tofu too. I like red lentils a lot and use them in casseroles, stews, soups and cottage pie.

Love the original video, the song one is great, thanks for the link!

I think you look gorg! Would kill for a figure like that!

It won't be a "gain" gain. You need to eat an extra 3500kcals on top of your normal BMR intake to gain 1lb of fat. So any gain can't realistically be fat, it will be fluid. Try weighing in before your work out for a start, straight out of bed and on the scales. Also, if you're working out lots AND not eating your full…

It's strange isn't it. When you think "diet" you automatically assume that eating the least cals possible will lead to the bigger losses...I never thought I'd have to make myself eat more, lol

Am having the same issue I think. Haven't lost for two weeks now, only lost 4lbs in June. Am really struggling week by week to see any movement. I've tried raising my calories and then lowering them, zigzagging did help but doesn't seem to be this time. Have tried increasing exercise, lowering exercise. Am not giving up…

Once or twice a week I have a higher calorie day. If you have the same amount every day then your body will get used to it and the losses will slow. I find having a couple of high calorie days a week keeps the amount zigzagging and my metabolism on it's toes a little more, plus I feel less deprived.

Another Brit here, scouse but still British, just about any way, lol Feel free to add me too. :) Good luck with your weight loss!
