• Taking Fenugreek really helps my supply. Although I know it doesn't work for everyone, I actually notice an increase within 24 hours.
• Okay, I did it. Work out complete. AAANNND I'm back. LOL
• I totally agree. The word Atkins makes me cringe. Its not healthy AT ALL, it does more damage to your body than good, and most of the time you'll gain that weight back..because who can go without carbs forever? No one. We need healthy complex carbs. Balance is the way to go!
• I'm also a vegetarian and I turn to beans a lot of the time for my protein. :flowerforyou:
• I don't know the answer to this however as a fellow short girl, I'd like to know this myself! Unfortunately I haven't been as skinny as you since about jr high! Lol! I'm trying to lose so I'm curious as to what everyone has to say about this. Thanks for posting! :flowerforyou:
• Ugh... ate a whole Kashi Roasted Vegetable pizza for supper tonight. This thread made me feel a little better about it. :ohwell: I'll get back to it tomorrow! Fairly certain I could eat a gallon of ice cream in one sitting. It is my number 1 weakness!
• I agree, you need whole grains and healthy carbs just as much as the protein. Balanced diet is the healthiest way to go! You may lose weight quickly but eventually you'll need to add healthy carbs back in and you may struggle all over again.
• Mine also is ice cream! I found a cool whip peanut butter recipe on here that is AWESOME. All you do is get an 8 oz container of cool whip (I got lite) and mix in a couple tablespoons of peanut butter (I probably used more than a couple... I LOVE peanut butter) and then spoon it into mini cupcake papers. Swirl chocolate…
•

"Read The China Study....very interesting about how protein promotes cancer growth! I'm not through with the book but what I've read so far is very disturbing!!"

Thanks, I will read it!!!! But be prepared to feel the wrath if you post things like that... I completely regret this post.…
• Okay. I can't delete this post unfortunately. I know I opened myself up to all this but I never expected to be attacked. I never meant to offend anyone. I chose through my own research (more than just this one book by the way!) to try out a plant based diet. I loved dairy as much as the next person, but I have my reasons…
• JERSEY SHORE
• Your welcome and thank you for not attacking me. I regret posting about this book entirely, but I hope you'll read it anyway. I liked that you said you found it empowering to read and educate yourself to make the best decisions because thats exactly what I was trying to get at. I didn't expect everyone to like the…
• She actually uses Dean Ornish, MD, T. Colin Campbell, PhD, Caldwell Esselstyn, MD, Neal Bernard, MD, and Ruth Heidrich, PhD throughout the entire book. She doesn't claim to be an expert in any area, instead she went to the source. Google those names, they've done their homework.
• I suppose I didn't word my post correctly. I did not mean that meat and dairy CAUSE cancer... But that they "create an acidic environment in the body, alters the mix of hormones to favor cell growth, modifies important enzyme activities to increase activation of carcinogens, and causes inflammation and cell…
• Whoa everyone, chill out. I'm no expert on the subject. I in no way meant to imply that if you eat meat you will die tomorrow. I simply wanted everyone else to learn about what they put in their mouth. Thats great if your grandparents, aunts, great uncles, cousins, whatevers are in their 90s! Thats awesome! But thats not…
• I'm no expert but per my own research this seems like a lot of protein for one day... There is a big misconception that more protein is good. We don't need as much protein as we are led to believe. And I've heard if you have too much protein you will gain weight, not lose it. Like I said, I'm no expert... just my…
• Vegweb.com is also another good one for recipes. I also struggle with trying to find something new to make. And I still have to cook for my non vegan husband so I know how hard it is! Mexican is a nice change from pasta... two of my favs! If I find anything new and exciting I'll let you know. :flowerforyou: Do the same for…
• Bump for tomorrow!!! Can't wait to try these! I'm OBSESSED with peanut butter.
• This happens to me too!!!! I'm so glad to see that I'm not a weirdo. I asked my husband if it happens to him and he looked at me like I had two heads!
• I'm also new to the Vegan life.. I just re-read The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone to give me some motivation. I read it once before, gave up meat and slowly went back to old habits. This time I'm doing it for the right reasons. I recently developed a stomach ulcer because the acidity in my body is way too high. Turns out…
• I was for a few months.. old habits creep back in :embarassed: Jumping back on the wagon though! I've recently had an acidity problem, including a stomach ulcer, and I look up how to lower the acidity and guess what I find!!??? Basically a vegetarian diet. Go figure! I know its the healthiest way to eat, now I…
• Alicia Silverstone, The Kind Diet. Its an awesome read and its very informational but I will warn you on the recipes.. they include a lot of weird hard to find ingredients and not exactly cheap ones either. But, the information in the book is worth reading. She gives you the basics of how to build a meal out of what you…
• Wow, this got intense! And also a sticky subject (ha, no pun intended) I'm no expert or doctor of any kind.. but my personal experience has been of course eating my face off after smoking but I've also not gained a pound since I started smoking again. I don't smoke every day by any means but some weeks its 3 or 4…
• I'm with ya! I'd like to lose about 15 lbs also, but I'd be happy with 5 if I could just get back on track with exercising and feeling great again. Good luck everyone!!:flowerforyou:
• I'm jumping on here with you guys! I let myself go over the holidays and I really feel it. I've gotta get back in the groove! I know I can do it if I have someone to hold me accountable.. So here it goes!
• I HIGHLY recommend anything Chalene! She knows her stuff and she knows what works. I started ChaLean Extreme before and of course I let life and everything in it stop me from doing what I needed to do. BUT that being said I'm starting back up TODAY! I am going to start back at square one and do this thing right! I hope we…
• I know I'm a little late on this thread but I searched it because I read this book about 2 weeks ago and I have been following it to a modified poor girls salary.. lol. I just wanted to give everyone some feedback about it in case anyone was having doubts. I have lost almost 8 pounds just by following her general guide of;…
• Hi everyone! I started PUSH on Monday and go figure I'm so sick right now... I'm not too sure that I can make it through a work out... I loved the first work out though and my arms were nice and sore the next day. I hate to miss a workout already but I think it needs to happen.... :frown: Good luck everyone! Try not to get…
• Sorry I've been missing! I feel way out of the loop! To answer your question... I liked the Burn month but I haven't done the others yet to compare them so we'll see... And I definitely moved up in weight!!!! Especially my shoulders and my legs. I did fall behind this week and go figure it was my last week of BURN.…
• Hey everyone! Started week 4 of Burn today... feels good to know that I'm actually sticking to it this time! I am scared for the Push phase though I have to admit... kicklikeagirl - I think that too a lot of the time with Chalene and her talking! Lol, when she says things like, isn't this great? or You can do it, just push…
