Do you like tomatoes? I have been buying cherry tomatoes to eat as a snack because I'm a muncher and I like to eat something that I can continuously have without having to portion control (unlike, say, peanuts).

I love their cherry tomatoes. I can eat almost the whole container in one sitting (but I don't). Any of their produce that's on sale is wonderful - though check the expiration/best by date because some of them are a bit older. The only thing I haven't liked is their Greek yogurt - I like Dannon Oikos and Aldi's just isn't…

Not ordering soda! I didn't really drink it at home, but when I went out to eat, I would usually get a coke. Now I only order water (if I want a drink of soda I steal a sip from my husband).

Depends on the day... If I have homemade (whole wheat) bread, I'll have a slice of that with fresh ground peanut butter and some honey drizzled on top (so good, so filling)... If I have plain yogurt, I'll eat that with (thawed) frozen fruit and a little honey mixed in... If I'm in a hurry I'll usually have a hard boiled…

I put my calorie goal lower than it needs to be because I know I'm not weighing everything or measuring as accurately as I should.

I'm at day 381 - I was super excited to hit one year, but I'm going out of town in August and I won't be logging on then.
-
I usually try for a subway when I'm traveling and get the apple slices as well - it works because I don't really like their chips! I agree that grocery stores will often have a decent selection of prepared foods. When eating out, I try to plan ahead and check out the menu before I leave the house (or on my phone!). Knowing…

Awesome! I just started c25k yesterday, so I hope to get to a full mile one day soon!
-
I'm about to download the app... However, I really hate running/ jogging. I did a 5k in just over 45 min a couple of years ago (no training, oops) and I hated it, but I really need to work on my cardio... So here I am (assuming I don't chicken out)

There are tons of workout videos online for free (eg., youtube) - you can look for "no equipment needed" videos specifically. Find one (or several) that you think will be motivating for you and make a schedule! I find I won't work out if I don't plan for it or if it's one of those videos where they yell at you or encourage…

I so agree with this - Cereal, packaged sweets (most of the time), soda... I used to drink a bottle of coke every day, now I have a few sips maybe once a week? Fast food (even the "healthier" kinds) makes me feel terrible now! I definitely still have pasta though... but I try to go whole grain, so at least I'm getting some…

Thanks, I'll check youtube!

I will say it's been rather depressing recently, realizing that I actually should be eating at a lower cal than I had previously set - I got to the top of my +/- 5 lbs after Christmas, and realized that I had been eating at a lower cal rate and constantly being "under" my goal, but during Christmas time, I ate to the top…
-
Carrots! Not as low cal as some, but I can munch on them easily!
-
Baby carrots!! I could eat those all day - and I'm a muncher so it's super helpful when I just want to eat ANYTHING

Not ordering soda at restaurants. I never really have any at my house, but I used to drink soda every time I ate out. Now I almost exclusively order water. When I do crave soda, I end up only drinking about half of it and not wanting the rest. Usually, I'll steal a sip of my husband's soda if I want any and that's enough…

Chicken gnocchi soup from Olive Garden - so good! Worth the extra sodium
-
I usually eat over, but try not to make it too much - usually I just eat more chocolate or chips of some kind... This time it was ice cream!
-
Cinnabon was a heartbreaker :'( Peanut butter (I think I still lie to myself about portion size there) Nutella... It actually surprised me how few calories marshmallows have! Seeing as they're basically just puffed up sugar, I can have one or two and be satisfied (as opposed to other sweets where I'll eat the whole bag)

OMG The first time I looked up a Cheesecake Factory slice, I almost DIED. Their anniversary cheesecake was over 2000 for one slice!

Thanks for the help!

5th year teacher here in middle school. Some days I can walk right past the snacks in work room... other days I'm giving out candy in my class and sneak a few (handfuls) for myself... Feel free to add me! I'm logging every day.
-
Cinnamon raisin English muffin and coffee with hazelnut creamer - pretty much what I have every day give or take
-
I've been here a while and plan on sticking around! Add me if you want ☺
-
CHEESE. Tacos (with or without a shell/tortilla - but always with cheese) Sweets (mostly chocolate in various forms)

If you have the Bible app, you can search for a reading plan called "12 Days of Healthy Christmas" that might motivate you! You can set a reminder to read it each day. Feel free to add me if you'd like :)

I had a cookie for breakfast because someone brought them into work... Christmas season is the worst!
-
The best plan I've found is to plan ahead. I preload anything I know I'll be eating (I shop for the week, so I know what I'm eating for each meal) and then I can use up my extra calories without feeling like I'll have to skip dinner!
-
Nutella... Goldfish... Homemade baked goods (because it's only hubs and me and otherwise they'll go bad, of course)...

I had this problem after Halloween - we had so much leftover candy! It was horrible, and I had to work it into my calories until it was all gone. It does help to have it out of sight (not sitting in a bowl on the table), but I just can't have it in my house at all if I don't want to eat it.
