I never liked sweet potatoes because I thought that is what they were, too! Then, when I was in college, my dorm mate would "bake" them in the microwave and I had a chance to taste them with a bit of salt. I fell in love! :)

We eat sweet potatoes often. Bake them whole, sweet potato baked fries, mashed up and mixed with quinoa, etc. However, you don't have to avoid the good ol' russet. Every once in awhile, I want a potato, so i have one (usually cut up, tossed with olive oil and s&p, and baked. Holy yum!!).

This was exactly me a couple of weeks ago. 1.8 miles on W7D2. I decided to go back to week 6 and do the distance program instead. I, in hindsight, should have probably gone back to week 5 in the distance program, or just stuck with it and worried about adding distance later, because the change proved difficult and I had to…

Great color run photo!! I hurt my neck and was unable to run for a couple of days, but today, I went (even though I wasn't 100%). I am supposed to be on W7D2, but have decided to go back to week 6 and use distance, instead of time. It was really tough. I think it was a combo of running in the evening (normally I run in the…

I did W7D1 this morning. It was chilly but not too cold. I wore a thin hoodie through half of the run (over a short sleeve shirt) and capris. I was having a hard time starting for some reason. I kept thinking, "are my shins bothering me?" or "is my thigh cramping up?", but when I realized that none of that was happening, I…

Joe- You made me laugh. Good for you for sticking' with it! :) Cheryl, that is a pretty picture. I wish I could run as the sun comes up but my kiddos are still too young to be left alone. I plan to run in the a.m. while on vacation in January, then I guess I'll have to wait another 8-9 years, lol. I did w6d2 today. It was…

Just finished W6D1. I was expecting it to be 5min, 8min, 5min, 8min, but that last 8min was not there, lol. So I ended way far from my house and ran a bit more to get closer then did my cool down. Today was my first time running in cooler temps. It was 44 degrees. I wore a hoodie and pants, then removed the hoodie half way…

I finished week 5, too! My ankle started hurting a little bit (never happened before) but I iced it a bit when I got home and it has been perfect since, so I don't know what that was about. Maybe because I was wearing heals and carrying my son in church (something I don't do in combo often) then came home went out to run…

I did feel that way on Friday (W5D2). It made me feel excited for tomorrows 20 minutes, though.

Did W5D2 this morning. The weather is much much cooler than it has been since I started jogging in May. I don't know if that is why this run felt much better to me or what, but I am totally ready for Sunday (W5D3). I sort of felt like the walk interval was a nuisance and I ran for an additional minute at the end of the…

That is so awesome!! I only hope I can run that long some day. How long does it take to run almost 6 miles? I have all these dreams of running longer runs some day, but I never really thought about the fact that the time required will be longer (not that I wouldn't go to ridiculous measures to find it, lol).
-
Sounds amazing!!! ( I am a morning person, though, lol). Good for you that you woke up and got er done!

UPDATE: I emailed the company because it just didn't make sense to me. It turns out that the label is misprinted and they didn't realize it. She gave me the accurate serving size of 4oz or 113g. I am so happy that it was wrong because I just couldn't wrap my brain around it, lol.

I get most of my protein from beans, quinoa, and soy (milk, tofu, nuts, etc). Just yesterday, I decided to add a protein powder on my run days (plant fusion). It's pretty good. I blend it with soy milk and frozen bananas.

Did W5D1 this morning. Super humid and trash day = stinky run :P This may sound weird but I felt like a beautiful runner today. I was sweating like crazy (because Michigan weather is stupid. It will be 30 degree cooler on my next run day) but had a rhythm and felt strong. I'm kinda liking this running thing.

I completed W4D3 this mornig. It was nice. There were lots of folks cooking bacon, though, lol. Regardless of how long I've been a vegatarian, bacon smells amazing!!! I'm excited to start week 5 on Tuesday!!

Thanks. I use grams, too. I was just surprised at the huge discrepancy and thought I was missing something, lol. I appreciate your responses :)

I did W4D1 this morning. I wasn't feeling well but went anyway (because I won't get a chance to go out again until Friday). I was slow as a snail in that last minute, but got 'er done. Still dealing with my stomach issues, though :(
-
Did W3D3 this morning. Thought I would maybe be a bit faster (not that I am putting to much stock in my speed. I'm thankful to just run when I'm suppose to,lol) because it is much cooler today than it has been in weeks, but no. I was actually the tiniest bit slower than Friday. I was going very very slow at the end of the…

W3D2 done. It was such a mess to get it done today (making arrangements for my kids. I'm a single mom to 3 little ones) Couldn't get out until after noon. It is so steamy, humid, gross outside. I was slow as a snail, but I did it. :)
-
This exactly! Getting a scale changed everything for me! I was eating wayyyyy too much cereal!! I realized that I was overestimating on most things. It all adds up.

x-post from the august challenge thread, but since I won't finish c25k in August, I thought I'd post here, too :) I did w3d1 today. Very humid out but the run part was nice. I was going pretty slow at the very end, but I'm excited at how this program is going so far. I listened to music for the first time today, too. Just…

There is a Turkey trot in Detroit (near enough to me) but I am not comfortable going into the city (I grew up in Californian and have only gone into detroit for sporting events). I didn't find a monster mash type 5k, but there is a very local jingle jog 5k in December where people where antlers and red noses and such. I…

A monster mash 5k sounds fun!!! II'm going to search to see if that have something similar around me!! She would love that!

I did W2D2 tonight with my oldest daughter (almost 9 years old). Besides the ridiculous heat, it was an enjoyable time. We chatted through most it and it makes me eager for the longer intervals next week. My sweet girl did great, too. She is sort of the reason that I started this whole running thing up again (I use jog,…

Just finished W2D1. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it went. I didn't feel horrible ever. I think it was the long walking intervals. My knee is a feeling a little weird, though. Not painful, just a dull something. I will do W2D2 on Tuesday.
-
Thanks :)

I did W1D3 today. I really really didn't want to do it. I had to make arrangements with my ex to watch the kids and while I ran around his neighborhood, lol. I pinched a nerve in my neck while playing with the kids in the lake yesterday and I was just looking for reasons to skip todays run, but I did it anyway. I am so…

I just started on Sunday. Today was my second time out with the RunDouble app. that was mentioned. I was trying to jog/walk on my own for a couple of months, but after using the c25k program/app, I realize that I wasn't pushing myself enough. I'm excited to keep it up. I really want to be a runner. I love how I feel like…
