I have been weighing my food in grams for months. Today, I ate a bean salad and the container said that the serving size is: 4oz (43g), 2.5 servings per container. When I weighed out 43g, it seemed to leave way more than 2 servings in the container, so I switched my scale over to ounces and it was no even close to 4 oz. So, am I misunderstanding the serving size? Should I have stuck with the small 43gms or use the ounces? Maybe it was a mistype? anyone else see this sort of thing?

It may have been fluid oz (volume) not weight. I'd go with the grams.

Echo the suggestion to use grams. That way no possibility of confusing weight and volume measures.

They may have included oz for a volume measurement, half a cup. But fluid oz. should be used for pourable food and I'm not sure how pourable bean salad is. I'd stick with what you are sure is a weight measurement, 43 grams.

I've taken to using grams. It makes everything so much easier. I have a Salter digital food scale ($25) and it switches easily between grams and ounces because i use do use ounces for my meats.

Thanks. I use grams, too. I was just surprised at the huge discrepancy and thought I was missing something, lol.
    I appreciate your responses :)

UPDATE: I emailed the company because it just didn't make sense to me. It turns out that the label is misprinted and they didn't realize it. She gave me the accurate serving size of 4oz or 113g. I am so happy that it was wrong because I just couldn't wrap my brain around it, lol.
