  • I take metformin because I have pcos. It has helped immensely, not just with weight loss but with my hormone problems. I feel like a woman again. The first 2 weeks were horrible with the stomach problems. But since then I haven't had any problems at all. I've heard about a metformin extended release that might help with…
  • So many exciting rewards! My reward for my short term goal (230) is to go skydiving. I wanted to go last year and I went to sign up and found out they have a weight limit :grumble: I'm not sure what my ultimate goal, or reward, will be yet.
  • You can have a fresh start any day, even any hour or any minute if you need to. Just log it and move on. It's all a learning process, and everyone slips once in a while. As soon as you realize you've slipped it's not too late to start over. If you let yourself have a little treat once a day you might not be as tempted to…
  • You shouldn't need to stuff yourself till you feel too full just to get the calories in. Eat foods you love and eat as much as you feel good about. If you aren't eating enough calories try to increase by a little every day until you're where you need to be. I think it's more important to be aware of what your body wants…
  • Teeth and Arms -my husband has great ones :)
  • Hi! I don't have any advice for you. I just wanted to say don't feel bad about not being "sporty." We all need to start somewhere. Right now I'm 271 lbs and on week 7 of c25k.

  • This time is different because I'm doing it for more energy not just to look better. I could spend the rest of my life without being sexy or thin and I'd still be happy, what I can't do is spend the rest of my life not being able to walk up the stairs without getting out of breath. Oh and I find my days go better when I…
  • Actual Job: Phlebotomist Dream Job: Anything challenging in a comfortable environment with good coworkers, and that allows me to spend as much time as possible with my kids. My job fits that description :)
  • Thanks! High 5 to you too :drinker: I work a regular job part time, and I help my husband run his trucking business. We have two small boys. If I didn't have the extra energy from working out and eating better I don't think I'd be able to do it. I run after the kids go to bed in the evening. It's about the only time I can…
  • I hope you find what you're looking for, I'm no good at telling people what to do. Congratulations on the 2 lbs. You'll be in the 200s before you know it!
  • I get headaches in the summertime from the heat. I don't even realize I'm hot till I start getting a headache, then I turn the air conditioner on and I feel better.
  • That's fantastic!!!! I started about 300 too and it seems like such a long ways to go. You're an inspiration.
  • There are some people on here who think there is only one way to lose weight, but there are a lot more who just want to support you. Don't listen to any of the negativity, ignore them if you have to. Tell them you only eat 1200 calories a day, that really pisses them off.
  • I thought I was the only one who did that. When I was kid I would count every single step I took. I would always start out on my left foot and end on my right, or stand in place and take an extra step when I didn't. It was really hard to stop. Now that I've started running I catch myself doing it again. It's a tough habit…
  • If I'm thinking about binging it helps to sit down at the computer and log everything I want to eat. Usually seeing the calories will be enough to make me not want to, or at least change the serving size. I also try to remember how I feel afterwards. And if I wake up in the morning still full from the day before (that used…
  • You look fantastic!
  • Thanks everyone
  • I hope that happens to me, I'm a 10 1/2 :)
  • That's fantastic :) I used to work at an auto parts store and I got the vending machine guy to stock slim fast bars. I'd never do slim fast now, but at the time I thought it was a great idea.
  • I didn't think my husband noticed my weight loss for a long time. It turns out he was just afraid to say something because he didn't want me to think he wasn't happy with my body before.
  • You just said that people shouldn't cancel their plans because of their diets. You should be able to enjoy their company whether they eat or not. As long as they're not being annoying about it. If we ate just because there are starving people elsewhere we'd all be huge.
  • I'm so happy for you! I'm also a fat girl doing C25K, I'm on week 5. I live in the country so there's not a big problem with people seeing me. But for the first few weeks I would stop running whenever I heard a car coming. I got over it after a while, I'm not going to break my stride just because of what they might think.…
  • I've thought about that too, but I'm paranoid about showing up at work smelling sweaty.
  • Mmmm I agree with the fat on meat, especially pork. Also anything with melted cheese on it, or alfredo sauce. And pasta of course. This thread is not good for me.
  • Another vote for the couch to 5k. You're already doing so great being able to walk 5k. When I started I couldn't even do that.
  • I don't think clean eating is just about weight loss. It's about not letting unnecessary chemicals into your body. That said, I don't eat clean. But I do try to eat mostly "real" food, I make most things from scratch.
  • I think you look great, and if I were you I would for sure. But it depends on how you feel comfortable.
  • Hi! I have PCOS too, I've known for about 10 years but just now getting around to doing something about it. Weight loss does take a lot of dedication, but it is possible. For me I started losing weight once I decided I'd be happy if I was at this weight for the rest of my life. I just wanted more energy, so I started…

  • Wow people are being so snarky in this post  Anyway... Usually my only cheat days are holidays or birthdays, occasionally a date night with my husband. And it's not really because I want to eat a lot, I just don't want to be bothered with counting, I want to enjoy myself. I started eating better because I love the way…
  • We teach them to sexualize women's bodies? This is way off topic here, but I'm pretty sure men are naturally sexually attracted to women's bodies. It's how procreation works. We don't have to teach then that, what we need to teach is respect. Both for our young men to have respect for women by not only treating them as…
