bump for the newbies
-
This is my life! still surrounded by my in-laws' clutter and hubby's, and my own. It is hard to work up the energy to sort through it all on my days off, though.
-
So sorry to see this, Fitgoat. My sympathies for your losses -- especially the meat! Glad you are safe.
-
A friend just started this, says it works for her! All you need is 7 minutes a day.... http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/05/09/the-scientific-7-minute-workout/?_r=0 There is an app for it, might even try it myself!

time for a bumpity bump

Mine is open too. But I live in Japan, so the veggies are weird!

I love how feisty he is. He is a straight talker. In this interview, Tom talks about: Why the way we currently treat cancer creates so many adverse effects. The theory that most cancer treatment is based on, but which is no longer a valid theory. The REAL causes of cancer cells – it’s not mutations of the cell nucleus. How…

Tokyo, Japan. I have been LCHF and on MFP daily since March 2013. Addicted to data! Sometimes get close to keto, but mostly eat too many veggie carbs to get that low most of the time. Lost 11 kg and feel much better! For the newbies, just keep calm and keto on and you will get there. It's a great life.

My husband is Japanese, and never needs to use deodorant. Even when he is sweating a lot. But our son, who's half Caucasian and half Asian, has sadly inherited my b.o. genes... and needs deodorant. I have to buy it in Canada and bring it back for the both of us as the stuff sold in Japan doesn't work. Dunno about the dairy…
-
Just don't go there... stay here where it is nice and warm! :)
-
And on the other side of the planet... still believe the Japanese diet is best? lookit whut dey's eatin' now: Weight-watchers rejoice: ‘Healthy’ chocolate output to expand http://www.asahi.com/ajw/articles/AJ201609210005.html ... Libera contains indigestible dextrin, a dietary fiber derived from corn, and its package says…

This is what happened to me too, and it amazes me. I can walk right by a bakery now with no cravings whatsoever! love what keto does for me.
-
And as some of us have discovered, don't drink and post on MFP Low Carbers group... :)
-
Thanks! Have saved the link for future reading... cheers
-
Nice chart, could you post the site link? any explanations for the conversions?
-
Many low carbers don't exercise much at all and still lose weight. I haven't heard your friend's theory before, dunno if it helps. The fasting through till lunch will help burn fat by increasing your ketones, so that part is good advice! Exercise if you want. Whenever you want.

thanks -- I think it was Labdoor. But they have not tested vitamin B yet... ah well.
-
Congratulations! You did it. May you have many more years of keto ahead!

I recommend reading "Cholesterol Clarity" by Jimmy Moore, and then reading Peter Attia's more in-depth site (or watch his youtube series) http://eatingacademy.com/cholesterol-2/the-straight-dope-on-cholesterol-part-i Basically, the better your HDL/trig ratio is, the better your heart health...…

I have made these several times, they do the job: http://www.sweetcheetah.com/2013/07/diy-quest-bars.html And here is another recipe that I have not made because it calls for something called Vitafiber that I can't get here in Japan. http://www.busybuthealthy.com/homemade-quest-protein-bars/ edit to add:…

Those are some wonderful numbers! Way to go!

time for a bump!

If it is like the others I have watched, the links are usually available for at least 24 hours. I just listened on the audio-only versions, as they were mostly just talking heads anyway. In the worst case, the site didn't have enough bandwidth for the number of people wanting to watch, so videos took forever to load. But…

Looks like a who's who of the keto expert world... I watched a similar one with many of the same people last summer, it was very informative.

This grazing strategy is similar to doing intermittent fasting with bone broth or loaded coffee/tea -- you skimp on intake through the day and eat most of your cals at night. That is about the only way I can budge the scale anymore. I have been within 4 kg (10lb) of my "goal" of 65 kilos for about 2 years now. I hover…

Grain Brain is very good. My favourites are Gary Taubes 2 books for the history and background of why to eat LCHF, and Jimmy Moore's for easy understanding of how. Also the Phinney Volek ones are solid. There are tons of them out there now, so read up! I also listen to the 2ketodudes podcast.

Start with this list from the Launchpad! Lots of good ones: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10348421/recommended-videos-movies-podcasts-and-clips#latest

Cream in my coffee and dark chocolate. Wait, those are part of keto! Keto food is my treat :)
