I will smack a hand if its reaching for a hot stove or something else that is an immediate and serious threat.

No lower than 1800calories per day for breastfeeding mommies  You also need to eat extra calories to make up for any exercise you do each day. I know its a little confusing but you are not doing yourself any favors by starving. Not only could you damage your metabolism permanently but you could also dry up your…

Haven't been in the ring in years but once I get back to fight-weight I'm hoping to get at least one more under my belt. I used to fight at 132lbs, 5-0 (3 TKO's)

I have the same problem with my elliptical - it has been relegated to the basement and rarely gets used. But, when I DO manage to get on it for any amount of time, I try to change up the settings every few minutes to keep things somewhat interesting. Changing the resistance or pedalling backwards helps. If that doesn't…

Need to adjust for calories burned during exercise - the foods are very healthy and practical, just not enough. Try adding more veggies to each meal and some quinoa or couscous to your dinner (an extra 300-500 calories depending on your exercise habits)

Yes! Try myfridgefood. It has different options for the type of eating plan you want and is very useful.

I'm a 25 y/o Canadian girl, 2 kids and ultimately I want to lose 45lbs. Love to have extra motivation and would be glad to do a challenge if you're interested

Mom of 2, youngest is 11 months  Add me

We've all wished we could drop the weight like magic, and not have to deal with the consequences that follow but that's just not realistic. I truly hope that you will consider revising your goal to a weight loss of no more than 4lbs per week (which is still risky, but somewhat more reasonable) Good Luck and Be Healthy

Always looking for positive-minded people to befriend

I can't stand high collars, turtlenecks or even a basic crew neck - they make me feel claustrophobic and restricted. So that's why I personally wear V-necks and scoop necks. I don't care if people look, or comment but some guys are completely pathetic about it.
-
Sounds awesome, I need all the motivation I can get :) I usually do good for the first couple weeks then I plateau and get angry and give up :ohwell: So I have to push through this time and not let the frustration derail me.

Oh yes, lol I forgot to mention that I live on a farm in Northern Canada (2hrs from the nearest gym) I do workout when my husband is home - and willing to watch the boys - but that's not very often. I've been getting better at exercising when the kids nap but now my older son doesn't want to nap anymore which is making it…

I had an experience with a guy who was adamant that all cardio is a complete waste of time - total sham, bla bla bla - and I said that was cool for him (as a competitive body builder, he just wanted a certain physique and didn't really care how far he could run or how hard he could fight, etc). Anyway I made a joke that I…

If you want you can try replacing one or two cups a day with Yerba Mate tea. It smells and tastes like coffee (minus the jitters)
-
Depends how strong you brew it, but I think 3 cups is a good average. 4-5 for weak coffee, 2 for very strong coffee.
-
My base recommendation is 1600, then I burn approx. 500 cal thru exercise each day, which bumps up my total significantly - but I try not to eat more than 1800 regardless.
-
I pre-log then at the end of the day I make any necessary adjustments (adding or subtracting, if applicable). I like to pre-log because it gives me a general idea of what I should have at what time which keeps me from being too spontaneous lol

I love coconut oil, it is very versatile and has a delicate flavor that pairs really well with any dish. Obviously you should still use it in moderation but it is definitely worth trying. And steeping your green tea is a matter of personal preference, the longer you leave it the more bitter it becomes.
-
My meals today consisted of: Breakfast ~ 2 poached eggs, 1 slice of organic sprouted grain bread (spread with coconut oil), a small sliced tomato, a Yoplait yogurt, 1/2 a small banana and a cup of green tea with honey. Snack ~ 1/2 apple with almonds (about 12) Lunch ~ 7 grain tortilla, spicy mustard, 4 slices of country…

Well, I'm not eating to the point of distension or anything, and I've always eaten a high fiber diet so its not an adjustment period. And I drink 6 cups of tea every day (3 green, 3 black, sometimes herbal)

I actually love veggies. I really enjoy eating them, but I am definitely in the mood for something more indulgent. I don't think its just boredom/emotional hunger because it physically aches but for some reason the veggies don't help at all. I mean, food is food, right? My body shouldn't respond to eating by being more…

That is a good suggestion, maybe adding a little homemade dressing would solve the problem. I do eat plenty of fruit and veggies throughout the day but I have a tendency toward unhealthy snacking in the evenings so I thought eating a bowl of veggies would be better than eating a bowl of chips lol
-
Lol as delicious that sounds, I usually try to do my veggie loading at the end of the day after I've already hit my macros so adding a bunch of oil and bacon wouldn't be feasible.
-
Well dinner was about 63 grams of protein, the whole day was 111 grams.
-
Well, I certainly hope it changes. There has been times when I finish eating dinner (and have hit my calorie goal for the day) but still feel hungry and have the evening munchies, so I would steam a large bowl of broccoli and slowly nibble on that but it just makes me way hungrier.
-
I aim to eat 1600 calories everyday, adding calories as necessary to compensate for workouts. Prior to this I was eating approx. 2000 cal per day
-
Just had a baked chicken breast with couscous, spinach, carrots, onions & pineapple plus a mango/apple salad for dinner. It was delicious and very high in protein - and I used olive oil to sauté the veggies :)
-
I eat a fully balanced diet, with a little olive oil at each meal, whole eggs, milk products, avocados, lean protein, and complex/simple carbs. Its not that I'm trying to get all of my calories by eating as veggies - I'm just trying to understand why eating veggies makes me feel hungrier than not eating at all. It makes no…

That's odd. The best day of the year to have your gym open is January 1st lol. "Resolutioners" will come running from miles around
