Let's Get to Know Each Other!
This group is dead! We should all post our stats, how much weight we've lost and how much we have to left. If you see anyone with similar stats/goals you can make friends! I'll go first: Age - 28 Height - 5'7 Highest Weight - 225lbs Current Weight - 210lbs (15 lost) Goal Weight - 155lbs (55 left)

Slow and Steady Progress.
I've officially lost 55lbs - although I've lost and gained a few of those 55lbs at least a dozen times - in the past year and 3 months. I went from 245 (not pictured) to about 225(in the green) to 210 (in black) to 195 (in grey) to 190 as of this morning! I do have pictures but I don't think they are appropriate to share…

New to group, new(ish) to lifting.
So my highest weight was 245lbs, at this time last year. I was horribly depressed and frustrated and everyone around me was suffering for it. I finally got myself a gym membership and started out - well I probably tried starting out way harder than I should have, being the stubborn, competitive former athlete I am but once…

5:2 Diet
Love it? Hate it?

Making Progress!
I've lost 20lbs in the past 5 weeks. I know that the first 10 tend to come off fairly quick since its usually mostly water weight but I'm still happy lol Only 50 more to go  How was your March?

New Girl in the group!
Hello everybody, I joined a few days ago but haven't gotten around to introducing myself, so here goes! The name is Codi, I'm Canadian, bisexual, 28, mom of two, married for nine years to an awesome guy and I love all things nerdy. I have about 45lbs to lose and I'm hoping lose about half of that by next fall. I like to…

Achilles Pain
Oh god, it hurts so bad, I can barely walk. Any treatments, stretches or exercises to prevent and heal my poor ankle/heel area?
-
I Hate Cardio
But I did it anyway, gosh darn it! Started with 30 minutes on the treadmill, alternating between a fast walk on a moderate incline, slow walk on high incline and jogging on a low incline. Followed by 20 minutes of Shoulders/Arms & Core and finished on the stationary bike for 30 minutes. My legs feel like jelly.

Goals and Rewards
How do you all feel about treating yourself to a reward when you've reached a short term goal? Do you feel that the weight loss (or inches lost/gained) is motivation enough or do you like to have something more tangible to work toward? This is not my first time trying to lose the weight but I hope it will be the last and I…

Shout out to fellow Canadians
Hi all, I'm new to the group and hoping to find some fellow Canadian members - specifically Nipawin, Saskatchewan but really anywhere is fine lol I'm 28, mother of two and currently weigh 215 - hoping to be under 200 by summer. I enjoy intense physical activity; weightlifting, boxing, boot camp, etc. Keeping my eating on…

Gym Motivation
So the Hot Soccer Dad from my son's Thursday night soccer practice happens to work at the gym I just joined - that's what I call motivation lol

Walking for Weight Loss
Recently moved to a new community where I can actually finally go for walks pretty much whenever I want and I'm loving it. I've been walking the dog two or three times a day, taking the kids to the park, exploring my new neighborhood, doing some hills and jogging intervals too (when the mood strikes). Anyway, I'm down…
-
Motivational Media
Does anyone else have random shows that inspire them to workout like crazy? For me, its The Walking Dead. Every time I watch an episode I instantly *NEED* to do a workout. And I usually think about the show when I`m on a hike or a jog too - its much easier to push to the next level when I'm imaging a slavering horde of…

Getting Easier Already
So, I'm only a couple weeks into my journey towards healthier living and its already getting so much easier to eat well and avoid temptation. I have a far less rigid attitude about food this time around, I eat all the same things I always have (which were always 90% healthy choices anyway) I simply eat less of it and log…

Don't Have a Food Scale... Yet
So I have been using measuring cups and spoons for everything I can and using those portion comparison charts to figure out the rest (a deck of cards = one 4oz serving of meat, for example) I know that I am probably inadvertently eating more than my estimations so I've just been staying under my recommended calorie goal by…

Territorial
Do you find yourself getting somewhat feral when it comes to protecting your food, or is it just me? (My husband tried to grab a few of my carefully counted out almonds for the day and I nearly bit his hand off) I still share with my kids, but grown-ups try to sneak bites at their own risk  lol
-
Road Trip
My hubby and I are ditching the kids with grandma tomorrow and are going to have an errand day/date night which is awesome and so badly needed :smiling_imp: However, I will be stuck in a vehicle most of the day and eating out at least twice so what snacks should I pack to avoid gas station food and pizza?

February Burpee Challenge!
I am challenging myself to do burpees every day next month, starting with 50 per day and working up to 200 (yikes) So anyone who is interested, let me know :) I could use the commiseration lol I have done this before and made it up to 150 reps per day - I broke it up into sets of 10-15 which I did every hour (give or…

Cheats and Treats
Do you find cheat meals helpful or do they make it harder? I find the theory to be sound but whenever I try it, not only do I seem to gain 5lbs instantly, I find that it just magnifies all of my cravings tenfold. I think I'm going to just skip the cheat meals entirely this time around unless its a very special occasion.

Getting Frustrated (long post)
I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to lose weight for roughly 2 years and I am once again starting over and commited to eating well and being more active every day. The problem is the people around me, one in particular: my husband. Don't get me wrong, I love him dearly and he is an awesome person in many, many ways but…

Supplements
Any favorite supplements that you find helpful or do you think they are just a waste of money? (I'm not interested in fat-burners or blockers, cleanses or any other fad diet pills.) I recently bought a probiotic(for disgestive health), biotin(for hair, skin and nails) and bee pollen(for energy and overall well-being). Its…

Tea Drinkers
Does drinking tea help anyone keep the weight off? I drink about 4-6 cups a day (sweetened with raw honey or stevia) and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I stll love it so I'll drink it anyway but it sure would be a nice bonus if it helped me lose weight too!

Surrounded by Temptation Landmines!
From October until after Easter there seems to be one special occasion/family event after another - every couple of weeks is either a holiday or a birthday or a work function or a school event and I just can't seem to get any kind of consistency with my diet. I know I can't be the only one - how do you deal with it…

Salt-Water Rinse
Yesterday I had a wisdom tooth pulled, and part of the recovery care is swishing salt-water to prevent infection. Obviously I try to rinse any excess sodium away with plain water after each rinse and drinking tons of water to stay hydrated, but I know I'm getting way too much sodium from this - any tips on how to…

Net Calories
I have question about how much food I need to be consuming to keep my metabolism firing. I usually eat around 1400-1600 total calories each (sometimes less, but never more) but I usually burn 450-600 calories from exercise each day as well. So my question is this: Should my Total calories be over 1200, or should my Net…

"Green" Smoothies, Powders and Supplements.
What are your thoughts on the matter? I know its not necessary for being healthy or losing weight but does anyone feel that these have helped or are they just another gimmick? For example: I have a Greens Concentrate (capsule form) which contains spirulina, chlorella, kamut, barley, red beet, goji, berry, acai berry and…
